It’s an unfortunate break for the Mets who are already without Francisco Lindor (calf). By the time Mauricio is ready to return, Lindor should already be back and his shot at an everyday role will be gone. Bo Bichette is starting at shortstop on Sunday and is expected to see the bulk of the action there until Lindor is able to return.

He’s a fascinating talent, but forecasting his future is extremely challenging. He’s certainly not a fit for risk-averse fantasy managers.

This is a surprise. Hence was a consensus top-100 prospect in the game entering last year before his stock torpedoed, mostly due to injury and command problems. The 23-year-old has struggled to a bloated 6.64 ERA and 20/18 K/BB ratio across 20 1/3 innings at Triple-A Memphis this season. There should be some interest on waivers as a reclamation project, but the fact that the Cardinals were willing to move on from him is a troubling development for his long-term outlook.

Hernández has performed admirably, allowing one run over six innings across a pair of relief appearances for Atlanta over the past two weeks. The 31-year-old figures to remain with the organization to await his next opportunity, assuming that he clears waivers.

Feinsand’s update coincides with a report from The Athletic’s Ken Rosental earlier this week that the Rockies have been asking for a top prospect as part of any multi-player package. The 26-year-old slugging backstop is the rare hitter that is statistically better away from Coors Field’s high-octane offensive environment and should command a massive prospect haul, especially since he won’t reach free agency for three more years. Goodman would be one of the biggest names moved at the trade deadline and it seems like Colorado’s new-look front office, which features Paul DePodesta at the helm, will have to be blown away to consider jettisoning their lineup anchor.

The acquisition of Bo Naylor in a trade with the Guardians earlier on Saturday seemed like a potential precursor to a Sánchez trade, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Rosenthal and Sammon add that the Brewers view Naylor as another layer of protection behind starter William Contreras heading toward the postseason.

Glasnow will make his first rehab start after facing hitters in a pair of live batting practice sessions. The 32-year-old has been out with a lingering back issue since early May. He’ll need a handful of outings to build up his pitch count and stamina before returning to Los Angeles’ rotation, most likely at some point in late August.

We’re inclined to believe that Nightengale has this one correct. However, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports that the Reds are still listening to offers and there’s a “50-50" chance that Greene is moved. It seemed a little far-fetched that the Reds were going to move on from Greene with multiple years left on his contract after reports surfaced earlier this week. Anything is possible and the emergence of Chase Burns as a certifiable front-of-the-rotation arm has probably made their decision easier.

McAdam spoke with a league source that indicated the chances of a deal to send Lopez to Boston are “dead” and it appears highly unlikely the Marlins will trade him. It’s purely speculation, but the Red Sox figure to be extremely reluctant to move either of their top prospects in shortstop Franklin Arias, who is tearing the cover off the ball since being promoted to Triple-A Worcester recently, and righty Anthony Eyanson, who struck out a season-high 10 batters at Double-A Portland on Friday night. The Red Sox have been linked to multiple shortstops ahead of next week’s trade deadline, but it seems highly unlikely that Lopez is going to Boston, or anywhere else at the moment.
