Pump the brakes. There was rampant social media speculation that Made, the consensus top-overall prospect in baseball, was heading to Triple-A Nashville, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The 19-year-old prodigy has put together a remarkable campaign, slashing .277/.353/.452 with six homers and 18 steals in 201 plate appearances over 42 games for Double-A Biloxi as the youngest hitter in the entire Southern League. He’s checked every conceivable box since making his stateside debut last year and his rapid trajectory towards Milwaukee puts him on pace to potentially reach the majors by the end of the year.

Bauers seemed destined for the injured list with a broken toe on Tuesday, but instead he’s 4-for-9 the last two days. The homer tonight was his 19th, which is seven more than his previous career. He’s also up to 63 RBI, which is 15 more than his previous best. The Brewers aren’t due to face another lefty until next Friday, so Bauers will continue to get all of the playing time he can handle.

After getting an extra day off in between starts, Drohan rebounded from a surprisingly weak showing against the Rockies to put together his fourth quality start in his last five tries. Workload could be a concern here down the stretch, since Drohan missed much of the previous two seasons, but he’s still looking like a solid mixed-league option for now. He’ll probably face the Pirates on Thursday.

Johnson walked three and struck out three. He finishes July having gone 1-3 with a 7.89 ERA in his five starts. It would be time for the Angels to think about trying someone else in the rotation, but since they’re likely to trade at least one starting pitcher, they probably won’t have that luxury. Johnson is due to face the Orioles on Thursday.

Pratt is up to .288/.379/.396 as a major leaguer, which, rather surprisingly, is a fair amount better than his .241/.349/.386 from his time at Triple-A Nashville this year. With the Brewers possessing two of the game’s best shortstop prospects still making their way through the minors, Pratt’s long-term outlook in Milwaukee remains a little cloudy, even after his pre-callup extension. However, he should definitely hold on to the starting job for the rest of the season.

We kind of figured it was just because of the score, but Arraez was dealing with a leg issue. He’s expected to be traded prior to Monday’s lineup, but he still could be back in the starting lineup on Saturday.

With a .287/.343/.536 line, 16 homers and 49 RBI, France has been the Padres’ most valuable position player four months into the season, even though he spent the first 2 1/2 of those sitting more than half of the time. The team actually though Nick Castellanos was the better option for playing time initially.

The thinking was that Márquez would follow opener Bradgley Rodriguez tonight, but the Padres actually used Yuki Matsui for three innings first. Márquez came in to start the fourth and then went the rest of the way, throwing 70 pitches and allowing just one hit. It was his fifth career relief appearance; he had three as a rookie in 2016 and one earlier this month. He’ll likely work again Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, though it’s unclear if he’ll start.

Whisenhunt allowed seven hits and nine hard-hit balls and walked four before his early exit. He still figures to stay in the Giants rotation with the team set to sell prior to Monday’s deadline, but there just isn’t much of interest here, given his lack of control and below average fastball. His excellent changeup can only do so much. He’s due to face the Rangers next.

Bowen’s 384-foot homer came in his 61st plate appearance as a major leaguer. He’s still hitting just .164/.206/.250 with a horrible 24/2 K/BB to date, so he might be sent down if the Padres add an outfielder before the deadline.

Dingler broke the game open in the eighth inning, capping off a seven-run rally with a 411-foot (100.2-mph EV) grand slam off of Luis Morales. He also singled in the third inning. With his two-hit attack, the All-Star backstop is now slashing .269/.333/.520 with 23 homers and 72 RBI.
