The Cubs’ bullpen has been decimated by injuries, so getting their closer back should go a long way towards stabilizing things at the back end. Before landing on the injured list with a lat strain, the 26-year-old flame-thrower had fired five scoreless innings with a 1.00 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio while converting his lone save chance.
Yandy Díaz

TB 1st Baseman #2

Yandy Díaz (oblique) remained out of the Rays’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the Giants.

It’s the second straight start that the 34-year-old slugger has missed after exiting Friday’s game with tightness in his oblique. The Rays still seem optimistic that it’s a minor issue and won’t require a trip to the injured list, but oblique injuries are notoriously tricky and can tend to linger. Fantasy managers may want to have a contingency plan in place in the event that Díaz isn’t able to go next week.
Ronald Acuña Jr.

ATL Right Fielder #13

Braves placed OF Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

We have yet to receive word on the MRI results, so the severity of the strain — and how much time the superstar outfielder is slated to miss — are not yet known. José Azócar was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move to take his place on the Braves’ active roster.
Logan Henderson

MIL Starting Pitcher #43

Brewers recalled RHP Logan Henderson from Triple-A Nashville.

As expected, Henderson will join the Brewers to fill the void in their rotation left by the injury to Brandon Woodruff (shoulder). While he has struggled in his lone appearance with the Brewers this season, Henderson registered a scintillating 1.78 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and a 33/8 K/BB ratio over 25 1/3 innings in five starts for them during the 2025 campaign. The Brewers are working to manage his workload this season, but if they’re going to let him go at least five innings and take the ball regularly in the starting rotation, then he’s worth a look in all mixed leagues.
Ronny Mauricio

NYM Shortstop #0

Ronny Mauricio suffered a left thumb fracture during Saturday night’s battle against the Angels and will be placed on the injured list on Sunday.

He suffered the injury when he jammed his thumb on first base while sliding headfirst. It’s a tough break for the Mets and for Mauricio, who finally had an opportunity to run with a full-time gig while Francisco Lindor (calf) is shelved. Bo Bichette slid over to cover shortstop after Mauricio was removed on Saturday with Brett Baty covering third base and that may be the Mets’ best path until Lindor is ready to return.
Emerson Hancock

SEA Starting Pitcher #26

Emerson Hancock fanned 14 while holding the Royals to one run in seven innings on Saturday.

Just a bit of a step forward for Hancock. His previous career high for strikeouts was nine, and he’d never topped seven prior to this season. He didn’t overwhelm with his 31 percent CSW tonight, but the Royals couldn’t string hits together while combining for eight total bases in seven innings. Hancock’s 2.59 ERA is going to force the Mariners to make a tough decision when Bryce Miller is activated. It seems clear now that Hancock would be the better choice than Luis Castillo for the fifth spot in their rotation. Hancock is slated to face the White Sox next.
Cal Raleigh

Cal Raleigh didn’t play Saturday because of general soreness.

The Mariners are being very elusive about this, as the unknown injury that got Raleigh scratched required imaging, the results of which are still unknown. Maybe he’ll prove to be just fine in a day or two, but the lack of transparency seems like a reason for concern.
Ronald Acuña Jr.

ATL Right Fielder #13

Ronald Acuña Jr. will undergo imaging on his left hamstring after leaving Saturday’s game against the Rockies.

Acuña left Saturday’s game with the hamstring injury, and Atlanta will make sure there’s no structural damage. There’s a good chance that the 28-year-old won’t be in the lineup Sunday regardless, but fantasy managers need to be prepared for a potential extended absence.

CWS Starting Pitcher #59

Brock Burke allowed no runs in six innings while striking out eight to get a win in a 4-0 victory for the White Sox on Saturday over the Padres.

Burke was outstanding again, this time in a traditional start. The 26-year-old didn’t give up a single extra-base hit, and he threw 66-of-88 pitches for strikes without issuing a walk. Over his last three outings, Burke has given up a total of two runs — none in his last two — and he’s looked the part doing so. There could be something here, even if it’s understandable if fantasy managers are skeptical. He’ll face the Mariners in Chicago on Friday.
Chris Sale

ATL Starting Pitcher #51

Chris Sale struck out 11 over seven innings of one-run baseball to pick up a win in a 9-1 thrashing of the Rockies on Saturday.

Sale was exceptional, generating 20 swings-and-misses while giving up just two hits and three walks. The left-hander did allow six hard-hit balls, but it sure didn’t feel like it while throwing 70-of-102 pitches for strikes. That’s 20 strikeouts over his last two games, and his ERA has dwindled to 2.14 with a 49/12 K/BB ratio. Sale has a marquee matchup coming Friday, as he’ll take on the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
