POINT GUARD

Trae Young – Atlanta (vs. Philadelphia) - DK: $9,900 / FD: $10,300 / Yahoo: $41

It’s just no good fading Young in this series. Despite the shoulder soreness and questionable designation, he continues to play hard and come up with amazing stat lines. 18 assists in Game 4, 39 points in Game 5, what will he do tonight? These games have been back and forth and competitive, and although the game is in Atlanta tonight, Vegas still has Philadelphia favored by three points. Win or lose the game, I’m convinced we can count on Young reaching value.

Also Consider: Reggie Jackson, Ben Simmons, Mike Conley (in tournaments, if he plays)

SHOOTING GUARD

Paul George – LA Clippers (vs. Utah) - DK: $10,100 / FD: $10,600 / Yahoo: $41

George pulled off an incredible win for LA Wednesday night with his best offensive and defensive performance of the playoffs (37 points, 16 rebounds and more). He had support, which is key as the Clippers hope to carry their momentum, like Atlanta, back to their home court tonight. With George filling the stat sheet and Donovan Mitchell struggling with his shot and now dealing with an ankle injury, George is the clear top choice at SG tonight.

Also Consider: Seth Curry, Joe Ingles, Lou Williams

SMALL FORWARD

Bojan Bogdanovic – Utah (at LA) - DK: $5,900 / FD: $5,900 / Yahoo: $19

This is the toughest position to fill, and Bojan is the only guy that works on all three sites. He was a firecracker to start Game 5, making six three pointers in the first quarter. That early success led him to take 17 long range shots in that game, making nine total. That volume is much higher than he usually enjoys, and I’m not suggesting we can count on it continuing tonight. The Jazz have a lot of shooters that can get hot, including Mitchell, Ingles, and Jordan Clarkson, and will play the hot hand like they did with Bogdanovic Wednesday. One note on the alternatives; if Mike Conley is back tonight in a desperation, must-win move, it takes Ingles largely out of my lineups.

Also Consider: Joe Ingles (Yahoo), Nic Batum (FanDuel)

POWER FORWARD

Marcus Morris Sr.– LA Clippers (vs. Utah) - DK: $5,100 / FD: $6,400 / Yahoo: $17

This is simply a more for the money move at PF. Tobias Harris has been brutal (love him in GPPs), and although John Collins has been better, his salary has kept pace. Morris is still extremely affordable on Yahoo, and reasonable on the other sites. Both Morris and Reggie Jackson, along with Nic Batum, have been instrumental in the Clippers come-from-behind wins lately. Morris is incredibly smart with his shots, and when he’s open from that one spot beyond the arc, his teammates make sure he gets the ball. He made three three-pointers in Game 5, and scored 24 and 25 points in the last two. His peripherals are variable, but usually there’s enough there to get him to value at his low salary.

Also Consider: Tobias Harris, John Collins

CENTER

Rudy Gobert – Utah (at LA) - DK: $7,500 / FD: $8,000 / Yahoo: $31

I don’t know if it’s the right move to fade Embiid, but it’s near impossible to fit him, Young and George. Embiid is coming off another 70-fantasy point effort and another loss, and with the knee looking bad at times, I just don’t know if he can do it again. Salary drives me to either Clint Capela or Gobert. I may be on an island (though Vegas has them favored on the road), but I still believe in the Jazz. Gobert is perhaps the most under-performing player on the team right now, and that needs to change if this series is to be extended to a Game 7. His blocks are way down, from an average of nearly three per game to just two in the last three games. He’s barely making double-digit rebounds, except for a stellar Game 2 performance in which he had 20. That’s the Gobert the Jazz need tonight, and the one I’m hoping comes through for much less salary than Embiid.

Also Consider: Joel Embiid, Onyeka Okongwu

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Onyeka Okongwu (C – ATL) is a really off the wall approach to center on sites like FanDuel where you can only roster one, but Okongwu could be valuable as a minimum salaried utility play on DraftKings or Yahoo. In Atlanta’s three wins so far, Okongwu has averaged about 12 fantasy points per game. In Game 5, he scored six points with five rebounds, a steal and a block in just eight minutes. Capela scored six points with eight rebounds, two steals and zero blocks in 38 minutes, for reference. I don’t think the Hawks are going to change their rotation much, if at all, based on one game, but if you’re desperate to save, and you will be tonight, Okongwu’s an interesting option.

Seth Curry (G – PHI) ought to be a popular play tonight as he continues to provide value on offense. It wasn’t enough to secure the win (it’s popular to blame Ben Simmons for that), but Curry made seven threes in Game 5, en route to over 50 fantasy points. While he may not replicate that stat line, his salary is still very fair ($5400 DK, $6200 FD, $18 Yahoo) and he’s been contributing a solid 25-30 fantasy points per game. If you’d like Curry as your second SG or G play, but can’t quite afford him, look at Lou Williams ($3200 DK, $4800 FD, $10 Yahoo), who may be shooting his way past Bogdan Bogdanovic in the Hawks rotation.
