POINT GUARD

Dejounte Murray – San Antonio (vs. Toronto) - DK: $11,300 / FD: $10,200 / Yahoo: $50
Let me start by saying that tonight is going to be a night of late-breaking news and it will be imperative that you continue monitoring news after 7:00pm. Build in as much flexibility as possible by remembering to put your late game players in the most flexible slots (G/F/U). That said, Murray projects as a safe, high-floor, high-upside PG option regardless of what breaks later. He’s having an amazing season, and gets a great matchup tonight in a game that should be one of the higher scoring and close ones. Murray is doing it all, coming oh-so-close to a triple-double just about every night.

Also Consider: Russell Westbrook, Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham, Fred VanVleet, Jordan McLaughlin, Immanuel Quickley, Kevin Porter, Brandon Williams, SGA (if active)

SHOOTING GUARD

Tyler Herro – Miami (vs. Phoenix) - DK: $7,200 / FD: $7,200 / Yahoo: $28

Herro is a nice mid-range play with a solid floor and some upside in this matchup if Booker remains in the COVID protocols tonight (very much up in the air right now). He’s been scoring 20-plus points every night since the All-Star break, and the fast pace the Suns play at should help all the Heat. Even with the team healthy, Herro is still able to contribute a reasonable amount of peripheral stats to boost his lines.

Also Consider: Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier, CJ McCollum, Donovan Mitchell, Franz Wagner, Brandon Ingram, Landry Shamet, Malik Monk, Spencer Dinwiddie (if starting)

SMALL FORWARD

Bogdan Bogdanovic – Atlanta (at Milwaukee) - DK: $6,700 / FD: $6,500 / Yahoo: $21

His salary is coming up, unfortunately, but Bogdanovic has earned it. He remains a solid SF play tonight at a position that has a lot of questions at the top. I’d love to afford Tatum, but that is tricky with a star point guard and center. Bogdanovic and the Hawks will face the Bucks in what Vegas has as tonight’s highest over/under – 239.5 points. The Bucks are modest home favorites, but offer a nice pace bump for Atlanta and also have shown reasonably good DvP to opposing forwards. Look for Bogdanovic to post another 35-40 fantasy point line in what should be a fun game for fantasy on both sides.

Also Consider: Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Khris Middleton, Jimmy Butler

POWER FORWARD

Al Horford – Boston (at Charlotte) - DK: $6,300 / FD: $6,300 / Yahoo: $23

I would build a whole roster with just PF tonight, but alas, no can do. I have no qualms with spending up here and think all of the top options will be worth the price, but I can’t ignore the salary/matchup combination for Horford. Charlotte plays at the second-fastest pace, ranks 29th in rebounding, and gives up the fifth-most overall fantasy points, as well as to opposing frontcourt players. Horford’s been padding his stat lines with a couple blocks per game lately, and is always in the mix for a double-double. Tonight, he should be in the 30-plus range again, at least.

Also Consider: DeMar DeRozan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Domantas Sabonis, Julius Randle (especially if Mitchell Robinson is out), Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley, Darius Bazley

CENTER

Rudy Gobert – Utah (vs. Portland) - DK: $7,800 / FD: $7,700 / Yahoo: $35

It’s definitely a night where you could skew your lineups toward stars and scrubs, and Jokic is the play here if that’s what you’re choosing to do. If you’re building for more security, you should consider Gobert, cheapest of the ‘star’ centers. Ayton is cheaper, but on a b2b against the Heat, I’m less enthusiastic about him. Gobert gets the league’s third-best C matchup with Portland, a team that ranks 28th in defensive rating. It’s a small concern that the Jazz are huge favorites, but Gobert is generally able to get you to 40 fantasy points in three quarters and he’s averaged 48 fantasy points in two meetings with the Trail Blazers this season.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic, Robert Williams, Pascal Siakam, Jonas Valanciunas, Karl-Anthony Towns, Trendon Watford

Additional Notes

Jordan McLaughlin (G – MIN) is a solid play if either Patrick Beverley or D’Angelo Russell sit tonight (sounds like Russell and Edwards are more likely to play than not at this point). It’s a dream matchup with a depleted Thunder team that ranks second in overall fantasy points allowed. He’s been doing a little bit of everything with his increased usage, averaging about 28 fantasy points in his last two games.

Russell Westbrook (PG – LAL) is cheap everywhere, but notably so on FanDuel ($6800). If LeBron James actually rests again tonight, Westbrook should have a field day with the Rockets. He’s posted some of his best numbers against Houston this season, averaging 51 fantasy points in three games so far. Normally, I think his salary is too high for his floor, but tonight I can buy in.

Trendon Watford (F/C – POR) has been playing a lot of minutes with Justise Winslow sidelined. He’s still a great value on FanDuel ($4100) and $15 on Yahoo (C eligible), where you can use him at PF. He’s up to $5700 on DK which is harder to justify in a tough matchup with the Jazz. He’s scored double-digit points and recorded a block in his last three games, for an average of 31 fantasy points per game in that span.
