Shohei Ohtani had a homer, a double and a sac fly Sunday as the Dodgers came back to beat the Nationals 8-6.

The Nationals were up 6-1 after five, but that wasn’t enough. Ohtani was responsible for the Dodgers’ one early run, taking Foster Griffin deep in the third. He has two homers and six RBI through nine games. His next start is due to come Wednesday in the finale of a three-game against the Blue Jays starting on Monday.
Roki Sasaki

LAD Starting Pitcher #11

Roki Sasaki was tagged for six runs in five innings by the Nationals on Sunday.

Sasaki didn’t look terrible, though his velocity was down one mph from last week. He threw first-pitch strikes to 16 of 23 batters and wound up with 14 whiffs and five strikeouts. All of the runs came in the third and fourth, with five scoring on homers from Luis García Jr. and James Wood. Two of the three guys he walked on the afternoon came around to score during that stretch. He’ll probably stay in the rotation for now and face the Rangers next weekend. If he’s not better then, it would probably be time to reevaluate his status.

LAA Right Fielder #27

Mike Trout exited Sunday’s game against the Mariners after being hit by a pitch.

Trout was plunked right in the hand by a running fastball from Casey Legumina. The 34-year-old looked to be in a good amount of pain, and assuredly will undergo X-rays to determine if there’s any structural damage.
Luis Robert Jr.

NYM Center Fielder #88

Luis Robert Jr. went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in a 5-2 win for the Mets over the Giants on Sunday.

Robert has his first two steals as a member of the Mets. He singled twice, and he’s now slashing an impressive .333/.474/.433 to begin the campaign. It’s very early and Robert’s health is going to have to be monitored throughout the year, but the early results are beyond encouraging.
Elly De La Cruz

CIN Shortstop #44

Elly De La Cruz drove in a run, stole a base, and scored a run to help the Reds to a 2-1 win Sunday over the Rangers.

De La Cruz did get doubled up at third on a baserunning mistake, but it was a solid game regardless for the shortstop. The steal was the first of the season for EDLC, and assuredly not the last after swiping 104 over the last two seasons. A pair of hits — including one in the eighth inning that ended up being the game-winner — now has De La Cruz slashing .243/.300/.486 over the first nine contests.
Chase Burns

CIN Starting Pitcher #26

Chase Burns struck out nine while allowing just one run in six-plus innings, but didn’t factor into the decision Sunday against the Rangers.

Burns was outstanding in his debut against the Pirates on Monday, and was just as good — if not better — in the follow up. He threw three pitches over 100 mph and was routinely over 99 with his heater, and he generated an outstanding 21 swings and misses. The only mistake was a pitch left in the zone to Joc Pederson, and unfortunately that prevented Burns from picking up a win. He’s an absolute must-start Friday for a scheduled matchup against the Angels.
Mickey Moniak

COL Right Fielder #22

Mickey Moniak homered twice to lead the Rockies to a 4-1 win over the Phillies on Sunday.

Revenge is best served at high altitude. Moniak was the first-overall pick by the Phillies all the way back in 2016, and to say he didn’t live up to expectations is quite an understatement. He’s found success in Colorado, however, and he launched a pair of 430-foot blasts off Taijuan Walker for his first two homers of the campaign. Moniak isn’t going to do anything against southpaws, but playing in Coors Field makes him worthy of fantasy consideration in a variety of formats.
Masyn Winn

STL Shortstop #0

Masyn Winn (hip) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s bout against the Tigers.

Winn will miss another game after exiting Friday’s matchup versus Detroit with tightness in his hip. He’s still considered day-to-day, but he’ll at least begin Sunday’s contest on the bench with Thomas Saggese getting the start at short and hitting sixth.
Addison Barger

TOR 3rd Baseman #47

Addison Barger left Sunday’s game against the White Sox with bilateral ankle discomfort.

Barger was replaced by Jesús Sánchez. The 26-year-old outfielder will assuredly undergo testing to determine the severity of the injury, and his status should be updated shortly.
