Holmes fractured his fibula on May 15th when he was hit by a comebacker. The original timeline was that he would miss three months, and that appears to be holding. If Holmes begins throwing in July, he could conceivably return to the Mets in the early part of August.

Jump was getting a battle at the end of his outing, throwing eight pitches to Denzer Guzman with two outs in the seventh. However, the last of those saw Vaughn Grissom wander too far off first on a ball in the dirt and get picked off by Shea Langeliers. Jump threw 107 pitches, an unusually high total for a rookie hurler in the year 2026, but he was in control from start to finish, striking out a new high of seven batters in his fifth major league start. He’s allowed a total of four runs in his four starts this month, with three of those coming in Las Vegas last week. He should be just fine to use in San Francisco next week.

This frees up the Pirates to carry on with Endy Rodríguez and Henry Davis behind the plate. Bart has missed the last five weeks with a foot infection, but he’s about ready to return now after going 4-for-16 with a homer in five rehab games, and that the Braves DFA’d Sandy Léon to make room for him suggests he will come off the IL and join the team right away. Bart seemed to have a breakthrough 2024, hitting .265/.337/.462 with 13 homers in 282 plate appearances, but he hasn’t kept it up in coming in at .251/.345/.346 with six homers in 394 plate appearances the last two seasons. The Braves will have him back up Drake Baldwin for now, but like they did with Jonah Heim, they could move on from Bart once Sean Murphy is healthy.

Aside from that, the Royals’ skipper didn’t have any updates to provide on the status of his franchise cornerstone. It’s possible that they’re just taking every possible precaution here, but fantasy managers should at least prepare for the fact that they could be without Witt for at least the weekend, if not longer.

Burke punched out eight hitters in the contest while issuing one walk. He entered in the second inning after Bryan Hudson got the first five outs as an opener for the White Sox. Burke served up a solo homer to Ryan McMahon in the third inning, but that would be the only run that they could muster against him the rest of the way. The 26-year-old got 20 swings and misses on 88 offerings in the game, posting an elite CSW of 39 percent. Now 4-4 on the season, he’ll look to replicate this fine performance as he brings a 3.89 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 81/29 K/BB ratio (81 innings) into Tuesday’s divisional showdown against the Guardians.

Soto got the Mets on the board first with a 386-foot (100.5-mph EV) solo shot off of Aaron Nola in the opening inning. He then replicated the feat in the third inning — that time with a 389-foot (105.0-mph EV) blast. The 27-year-old superstar also drew a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4. For the season, he’s now slashing an outstanding .300/.398/.582 with 17 homers, 38 RBI and six stolen bases on the season.

The 26-year-old superstar fielded a ground ball in the fourth inning and landed awkwardly on his right knee. He was able to walk it off and remain in the game for the time being but was lifted for a pinch hitter the following half inning. He’ll head for further evaluation. Expect the Royals to provide an update on his status as soon as more information is known. All fantasy managers can do at the moment is wait and hope for the best.

Turner sustained the injury when he was plunked by Sean Manaea in the opening inning. It doesn’t sound like anything that should lead to any sort of extended absence, so the 32-year-old shortstop should be considered day-to-day.

Chisholm had a foul ball bounce off the ground and back into his groin area and appeared to be in a substantial amount of pain before exiting the ballgame. That’s probably going to ruin his weekend. He should be considered day-to-day.

Trout told reporters on Thursday that he felt the injury while running to first base in his final at-bat on Wednesday and thought it was a cramp initially. He also admitted to having a scan done and that his overall concern level is very low. The Angels are simply being cautious here and are hopeful that Trout will be able to return when first eligible. Christian Moore was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his place on the Angels’ active roster.
