NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that Saints WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) is seeking multiple opinions on his recent injury.

Garafolo captioned a report from ESPN’s Katherine Terrell regarding Tyson’s new injury, adding that Tyson’s “timeline to return is TBD but doesn’t seem it’ll be anytime soon.” Here’s what we know: Tyson injured his right hamstring yesterday. Multiple right hamstring injuries derailed his 2025 college season and kept him from participating in the pre-draft process. Saints coach Kellen Moore initially said the new injury is unrelated to Tyson’s prior injuries, but New Orleans Football’s Mike Triplett noted today that Moore “changed his wording to say it wasn’t ‘necessarily’ related.” Moore also said that Tyson’s Week 1 availability may be impacted. Here’s hoping that Tyson’s decision to seek multiple opinions yields multiple positive reports. Stay tuned.

This comes a day after we learned that Tyson is seeking multiple opinions on the hamstring injury he suffered on Thursday. At some point, the Saints will have collected enough information to feel comfortable telling us about Tyson’s injury, but for now, we will continue to wait. The longer this goes on, the worse the news will feel. Hopefully this is something that will only sideline Tyson for a few weeks, but given his history of hamstring injuries, which slowed him during the pre-draft process, it wouldn’t be surprising if his absence extended into the regular season. Hopefully we’ll have a clear answer on his status soon.

According to Moore, this is not related to the previous hamstring injuries Tyson has dealt with, and the team is gathering more information before determining a recovery timeline. Moore also said the possibility of Tyson missing Week 1 can’t be ruled out. It’s not exactly encouraging news, but we’re holding out hope that, at worst, this is a short-term absence for Tyson, whose pre-draft process was hampered by hamstring injuries. Tyson profiles as a decent WR3 play in fantasy if/when he is on the field this season.

Nick Underhill later added that the injury “isn’t super serious.” The bigger issue is that the hamstring injury simply won’t go away. Tyson was unable to participate in the NFL Combine over five months ago because of a hamstring injury. He was then limited during the offseason program before returning to practice at the start of training camp. Now the injury is back and there’s no telling how long it will keep the rookie off the field. Tyson had a sky-high ceiling coming out of Arizona State, but the disjointed offseason will likely prevent him from making much of an impact in fantasy lineups early in the season.

A “significant” hamstring injury prevented Tyson from participating in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. He then remained limited throughout spring practices after the Saints drafted him in April. Earlier this week, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis revealed that Tyson had suffered “a small recurrence during the pre-draft process,” which explains his springtime limitations. The injury is now behind Tyson, and he has been practicing with the first-team offense since the Saints took the practice field on Wednesday. His new personal chef, a hyperbaric chamber and a recovery room are all part of his plan to maintain good health moving forward. Saints QB Tyler Shough notably complimented Tyson’s preparation and desire to improve. Tyson is slated to operate as the Saints’ WR2 while returning WR3 value or better in fantasy this season.

Underhill compared Tyson’s best routes with Shough’s highest-targeted areas of the field and declared, “it’s the same diagram.” Coincidentally, Tyson’s route tree closely overlaps with that of No. 1 WR Chris Olave. Underhill believes that this dynamic will allow coach Kellen Moore to use Tyson and Olave interchangeably. They will both line up in the perimeter and in the slot. Underhill believes Olave will remain the team’s top pass catcher “for the near future,” but eventually both he and Tyson will work as two “top receivers.” Tyson missed most of spring practices with a hamstring injury, but Underhill said he will not worry about the issue unless Tyson misses training camp. Underhill closed the segment by saying a 55/700/5 receiving line on 90 targets is a “safe projection” for Tyson’s rookie season, though he believes Tyson is capable of doing more. The “safe” stat line equates to 155.0 PPR points and would have made him the WR40 last season.

The Saints have been conducting on-field, non-contract drills since April 20th. Organized team activities officially began yesterday, though media members were not allowed to attend. Tyson has already been given rest days, as the team puts together “a plan for him,” and per Triplett, Tyson’s limited participation was expected. The rookie wide receiver “was dressed in jersey and helmet and stood by for the entire practice.” We are not concerned about Tyson’s health at this time, but hope to see his participation increase in the coming weeks.

Shough also praised the young receiver for his hands and his big-play ability. Shough and Tyson have had less than a month to get familiar with one another since the NFL Draft ended last month, but it sounds like the two are already building early chemistry that they hope will quickly translate to the field. Tyson caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns last season while at Arizona State, with injuries limiting him to just nine games. If he can stay healthy, Tyson has a chance to turn into a meaningful player early on, both for the Saints and fantasy managers. His presence should also help free up more room for Chris Olave, who turned in the best season of his career in 2025.
  • NO Wide Receiver
Speaking with the media, Moore said Tyson’s rest day was part of “putting together a plan for him,” and not a new injury. The Saints selected Tyson with the No. 8 overall pick in this year’s draft, choosing to bet on his talent while casting aside any concerns over his well-documented injury history. The rookie receiver dealt with hamstring injuries in 2025 and was also sidelined for most of the pre-draft process due to hamstring injuries, so Moore and his staff are hoping to find ways to mitigate those concerns at the pro level. It’s never great to hear that a 21-year-old rookie is already having scheduled rest days, but hopefully this decision plays out well ahead of training camp and once the season starts. Tyson has a chance to make an immediate impact for the Saints and his fantasy managers if he can stay healthy.
  • NO Wide Receiver
Underhill notes that the session only lasted about an hour, and Tyson was practicing alongside players who are “just hoping to get a chance to play in the league or stay in the league,” so the fact that he stood out is unsurprising. That said, it’s still great to hear that Tyson is hitting the ground running. Underhill also said Tyson “plays bigger on film than he looks in person,” complimenting Tyson’s play with the ball in the air. We expect the positive drumbeat to continue for the No. 8 overall pick in this year’s draft.
  • NO Wide Receiver
Regarded by some as the top receiver in this year’s draft, injury concerns may have been the reason Tyson “fell” to the Saints at No. 8 overall in this year’s draft. Now under contract, Tyson, whose deal is worth $32.5 million in guaranteed money, is ready to get to work in his rookie year and has a chance to elevate a Saints passing game that began to show signs of life once Tyler Shough took over as the starter last season. Tyson can work both on the outside and in the slot and excelled after the catch during his time at Arizona State. He projects as a first-year starter and could make an early impact for fantasy managers in what appears to be an ascending offense in 2026.

Camden Brown caught 3-of-3 targets for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s preseason win over the Seahawks.

Brown made an impact in his exhibition debut, and he connected with Sam Howell on a 39-year touchdown in the second quarter. His second score was far shorter but even more impressive; a one-handed stab in the back of the end zone. There’s a long way to go and Brown is anything but a lock to make the roster, but he’s been one of the stars of training camp, and he showed why Saturday evening. At the very least, he’s worth monitoring.

Jalen Milroe completed 5-of-8 passes for 36 yards in Saturday’s preseason game against the Cowboys while adding 36 yards on five carries.

Milroe and Drew Lock split time in the first game of the preseason, and Lock was much more effective with a touchdown and 40 yards on 9-of-13 passing. That’s more insult to Milroe than compliment to Lock, to be fair. The second-year signal-caller showed off his upper-echelon speed, but held onto the ball too long, and struggled to get the ball down field. Milroe would be a tantalizing fantasy play because of his ability to scramble, but just isn’t a good enough passer to believe that’s going to come to fruition.

Ja’Kobi Lane caught 3-of-3 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s preseason contest against the Eagles.

Lane has impressed in camp, and he snagged a 16-yard touchdown from fellow rookie Joe Fagnano for his first score of the season. The 80th pick of last year’s draft, Lane’s 6-foot-4 frame makes him a potential threat inside the 20, and it appears he’s going to get a chance to win the No. 3 receiving job. At the very least, Lane is worth monitoring in deeper formats.

Eli Stowers caught all three targets for 12 yards in Saturday’s preseason game against the Ravens.

Stowers was somewhat involved in the first half but the rookie tight end had a long gain of just six yards in the first exhibition game of the season. The 23-year-old has significant long-term upside because of his athleticism, but it’s very clear — at least early on — that Stowers has work to do before he’s a fantasy option in 2026.

Saints HC Kellen Moore said the team is “still in collection mode” regarding Jordyn Tyson’s hamstring injury

Ty Simpson completed 21-of-25 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s preseason game against the Chiefs.

Simpson played all but two drives for the Rams in this one, as Sean McVay gave his rookie first-rounder an extended first taste of NFL action. Simpson played about as clean of a game as one could have hoped for, avoiding sacks and turnovers while leading his team on three scoring drives. Simpson’s first touchdown pass came on a screen pass to running back Dean Conners, who took it into the end zone for the score. Later, Simpson connected with Conners on a two-yard score after he found a hole between two defenders to fit the ball into. We would expect Simpson to see another lengthy outing in next week’s game against the Saints.

Zach Wilson completed 11-of-16 passes for 145 yards and one touchdown in Saturday’s preseason game against the Jaguars.

Wilson took over in the second quarter for Spencer Rattler, who struggled mightily in his 2026 debut. Wilson, on the other hand, looked far more comfortable running the offense and completed four of his five pass attempts on distances of 10 or more air yards. He was a perfect 2-for-2 on passes of 20-plus yards. Wilson connected with tight end Oscar Delp on a one-yard pass for his lone touchdown of the day and led the Saints on two scoring drives. Given what we saw from both Wilson and Rattler today, it wouldn’t be surprising if Wilson pushes Rattler for the QB2 spot behind Tyler Shough.

Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said the knee injury Jamal Adams suffered in Saturday’s preseason game against the Giants is “not good.”

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise after O’Connell sounded disappointed when discussing Adams’ injury after halftime. The 10-year vet had made a switch to linebacker last season and signed with the Vikings last month in hopes of carving out a role in Brian Flores’ defense. Adams has an MRI scheduled for tomorrow, which will reveal the extent of the damage.

Spencer Rattler completed 8-of-11 passes for 42 yards in Saturday’s preseason game against the Jaguars.

Rattler’s 3.8 yards per attempt won’t turn any heads, but the two sacks he took, one of which resulted in a lost fumble, might be enough to give Zach Wilson a chance at backup duties. Rattler didn’t complete a pass for more than nine yards on Saturday and will look to have a bounce-back performance in his next game, which is set for Saturday against the Rams.

Bills HC Joe Brady said DJ Moore was “good to go” after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday’s preseason game against the Panthers.

Moore had his ankle rolled up on late in the fourth quarter and could be seen working with trainers on the sideline. Despite the scare, Moore told Brady after the game that he was “good to go,” suggesting there won’t be much to worry about going forward. Moore was impressive in his Bills debut, catching 3-of-4 targets for 61 yards in limited action.
