    Raiders released WR Noah Brown.

Brown is a 10-year veteran of the league who signed with the Raiders earlier this offseason. Injuries limited him to just four games last season, but Brown has been a serviceable receiver who has totaled 450-plus yards in three of his last four seasons. It’s possible he could catch on with another team as an added depth piece, but we wouldn’t expect Brown to pop up as a starter any time soon.
Kupp keeping family at center of football success
For Cooper Kupp, family has been at the core of his journey to becoming a two-time Super Bowl champion, and he continues to keep his eyes forward entering his 10th NFL season.

Brown, 30, dealt with knee, groin and rib injuries last season. He profiles as a rotational player at this point in his career, but the Raiders’ wide receiver depth chart is fairly thin. He is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant, though he can help out at the team level. The Raiders correspondingly released DT Benito Jones.

Brown’s 2025 season is over. He sustained the rib injury in Week 15 against the Giants on a 28-yard reception. Brown landed hard and needed help getting to the sideline. The oft-injured veteran ends the season with five catches for 83 yards over four games. Brown had spent time on IR earlier this season with a groin injury. He’s unlikely to remain with the Commanders in 2026.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Brown caught his lone target for 28 yards before leaving with the injury. The 29-year-old had just been activated the previous week from injured reserve with a groin strain, and now could be in danger of missing further time.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Facing the Vikings, Brown will be active for the first time since Week 2. He figures to immediately slot back in as the No. 3 wideout for an offense that has been dealing with receiver injury carnage all season. Good news for Washington, especially with Jayden Daniels also returning, but it’s unlikely to make a ripple in fantasy football.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Brown will have to be activated off injured reserve before that can officially happen, but it seems a formality as he was practicing in full this week. The Commanders will finally have the passing game fully healthy against the Vikings, for what feels like the first time all season, in Week 14. Brown isn’t a fantasy play as we suss out his involvement level and if he’ll be on a snap count. The Commanders officially listed Brown as questionable to play on the injury report.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Brown managed a full practice last Thursday. The team then gave him the day off on Friday and ruled him out. That was likely part of their plan to ramp him up to speed. He should have a good chance at returning this week. With Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin both healthy, Brown will return to a part-time role.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Brown was full on Thursday, but did not practice on Friday with a rest designation. Zach Ertz, Terry McLaurin, and Deebo Samuel will be the only reliable Commanders fantasy options against Denver. Brown is still just in the first week of his 21-day window and it stands to reason he’ll be activated soon.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
In addition to Terry McLaurin, Noah Brown and Treylon Burks were also limited today. It’s tough to say which depth options will suit up this week. With Marcus Mariota expected to make another start, it’s a situation fantasy managers don’t need to get bogged down by. Deebo Samuel is the only game in town until McLaurin returns. Zach Ertz is also in the mix as a volume-based TE1.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Brown hasn’t practiced since he suffered a severe groin injury in Week 2 against the Packers. The team opened his 21-day practice window on November 24, which means he could play as soon as this week against the Broncos. He would likely function as Washington’s WR3 and should remain on waiver wires, even in deeper formats.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #85
Browns’ 21-day practice window has now been opened, meaning the Commanders can officially activate him off injured reserve whenever they believe he’s ready to go. Brown hasn’t played since Week 2 and has just three catches for 36 yards this season. He caught just 35 passes for 453 yards and one touchdown last season, and has little to no fantasy upside whenever he’s activated.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that free agent OG Shaq Mason “will not be disciplined by the NFL and the investigation into his legal matters from 2025 has been closed.”

Per Garafolo, Mason is free to sign with and play for a team immediately. “All charges against Mason from an August 2025 arrest were dropped in April.” The arrest occurred five months after Mason had been released by the Texans in March 2025, and he remained unsigned throughout the 2025 season.

Free agent TE Thomas Odukoya worked out for the Chiefs on Friday.

Odukoya is an international player from the Netherlands. He was most recently on the Patriots roster and spent 2024 with the Titans, playing just one regular season snap. If the Chiefs sign him, expect him to join the practice squad.

Rams coach Sean McVay said every player on the roster will travel to Australia for Week 1 against the 49ers.

Regarding recently unretired DT Aaron Donald’s potential participation, McVay said that “if he feels good enough to go, great. If not, I’ve got a lot of confidence in the other guys.” The Rams have a two-game roster exemption for Donald, so they can take their time with him if they would like to. Regardless, the fact that he is traveling with the team suggests he has a real chance to play next week.

Packers RB Josh Jacobs’ first court hearing has been moved up from November 17th to September 10th.

It is tough to say whether this will impact Jacobs’ 2026 season. The NFL placed Jacobs on the Commissioner Exempt List on August 30th, which prevents him from practicing with the team and playing in NFL games. The NFL acts independently and can make its own decision as to whether Jacobs’ behavior warrants a suspension. That said, rulings or evidence presented in court could impact the league’s decision-making. This could be consequential. Stay tuned.

Texans agreed to terms with WR Tank Dell on a one-year, $1.7 million contract restructure.

The deal includes $1 million in guarantees while saving the franchise almost $2 million against the cap. Dell is reportedly nearing a return from the devastating knee injury suffered in Week 16 of the 2024 season but will begin 2026 on the physically unable to perform list, meaning he will miss the first four games of the regular season. The contract restructure hints at a potential “prove it” year for Dell, giving the team options following 2026 pending health.

Bears agreed to terms with G Joe Thuney, DE Dayo Odeyingbo, and LB TJ Edwards on restructured contracts.

The moves create a solid $17 million in savings against the cap. The team found themselves right up against the salary cap before the restructures, now entering the regular season with about $22 million in space to maneuver.

Cowboys restructured TE Jake Ferguson’s contract.

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys now have $33.2 million in salary cap space this year. They also reworked DT Kenny Clark and CB DaRon Bland’s deals. Ferguson’s $7.25 million base salary was turned into a signing bonus. For fantasy purposes, this does not alter Ferguson’s standing. The front office could have a personnel move in mind, though. Stay tuned.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Bears RB D’Andre Swift left practice early on Thursday due to “a cramp.”

Well, this is a pleasant update. Swift was seen leaving practice earlier today, “apparently holding at his midsection or core area.” After a brief scare, everything appears to be fine for the Bears’ starting running back. Swift enters 2026 as a safe RB2, playing in an expectedly efficient and explosive offense. Backfield mate, RB Kyle Monangai (knee), is currently rehabbing an injury, but last we heard, he has a chance to play in Week 1 against the Panthers. Swift could vault into a top-12 positional ranking if Monangai is unable to play.

The Athletic’s Dan Wiederer reports that Bears WR Rome Odunze (leg) “should be all good after leaving today’s practice.”

Let it be known that these are “preliminary indications” from Wiederer, but Bears fans and fantasy managers alike can breathe a sigh of relief. The team will now go on break over the weekend, and coach Ben Johnson will address the media sometime next week. The first injury report comes out on Wednesday, so we should have an update by then, at the latest. It should be noted that Odunze injured his left foot last season. Today’s injury is to his right leg, so the two issues are unrelated. This is not a re-injury. For now, there is reason for cautious optimism regarding Odunze’s health.

    Saints waived RB Devin Neal.

The Saints placed Neal on injured reserve with a hamstring injury over the weekend, but did not designate him as a candidate to return. He received an injury settlement, and could potentially return to the Saints if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
