Cardinals CB Sean Murphy-Bunting recently revealed he missed all of the 2025 season due to a torn ACL.

Murphy-Bunting was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list in May 2025, and we never received any further detail on the matter. Now, the 28-year-old corner has revealed that he suffered a torn ACL in March of last year and also dealt with “some MCL damage.” Murphy-Bunting has spent most of his career playing on the outside, but said in an article by Zach Gershman that he expects to spend a lot of time in the nickel spot this year with Garrett Williams (Achilles) expected to miss some time to start the season. It’s safe to say this news comes as a bit of a surprised, but now a year removed from his injury, it sounds like Murphy-Bunting is in good shape ahead of training camp.

Cardinals restructured CB Sean Murphy-Bunting’s contract.

It will keep him around in 2026 and, as with James Conner’s re-working, is almost certainly a salary cut after he missed the entire 2025 season with an undisclosed injury. We’re a little surprised this was a priority for Arizona as Murphy-Bunting has not been an appreciably good player since his 2022 walk season with the Buccaneers, but the Cardinals have better information on his injury than we do.

We expect clarifying news to arrive shortly. Murphy-Bunting’s injury was not specified in the report, but notably dealt with a mid-season neck injury last year. Second-year CB Max Melton, CB Kei’Trel Clark and Starling Thomas V will likely compete for the No. 2 perimeter cornerback role opposite second-round rookie CB Will Johnson, while CB Garrett Williams mans the slot. The Cardinals also waived DE Ben Stille.

Murphy-Bunting practiced in full all week but was downgraded to questionable late in the process. He may have suffered a setback with his neck injury. The Cardinals also declared DL Darius Robinson, OL Christian Jones, TE Travis Vokolek, WR Xavier Weaver and DL Naquan Jones inactive this week.

Murphy-Bunting was a full participant in practice throughout the week before being cleared from the injury report on Friday. It looks like the issue flared up and he’s now at risk of missing Arizona’s matchup with the Bears. The free agent addition has two pass breakups and one interception this season.

Murphy-Bunting has one interception and two pass breakups this year. He has started all seven games, primarily playing at outside corner. His absence weakens an already beatable Arizona defense.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Cardinals have agreed to terms with former Titans CB Sean Murphy-Bunting.

A former second-round pick, Murphy-Bunting played out his rookie deal with the Bucs before signing with the Titans for a year. He started all 14 games he was healthy for, racking up eight pass breakups, two interceptions, and three TFLs in the process. Murphy-Bunting isn’t a top-flight corner, but he can handle starting duties on the outside for Arizona. The Cardinals ranked 31st in EPA per dropback allowed in 2023.

Titans LT Andre Dillard (concussion) will not play in Week 11 against the Jaguars.

Dillard suffered the concussion last week and was unable to return. Dillon Radunz took his place at left tackle and got in some work at left tackle during practice this week, so he should draw the start. Signed to a three-year contract in the offseason, Dillard has failed to live up to expectations in Tennessee. He may not have a starting spot to return to if Radunz plays well. Cornerback Sean-Murphy Bunting was also ruled out.

Titans CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (thumb) won’t play in Week 10 against the Buccaneers.

Week 10’s matchup against the Bucs would be a revenge game for Murphy-Bunting, who spent his first four seasons with the Buccaneers and was a part of their 2020 Super Bowl run. His absence is great for Baker Mayfield and company, although it looks like corner Roger McCreary is gearing up for a return after being sidelined since Week 6.

A thumb injury would seem possible for Murphy-Bunting to play through, so we’ll keep an eye out for his practice status in the next couple of days. If he were to miss time, that would be good news for Mike Evans and Chris Godwin ahead of the Titans’ showdown with the Bucs on Sunday.

The Athletic’s Andrew Destin believes Seahawks TE AJ Barner “will likely see an uptick in production, as should backup TE Elijah Arroyo” this year.

Destin notes that new Seahawks OC Brian Fleury served as the 49ers’ TE coach for four seasons “and is expected to feature the position prominently.” Aside from that, and an increase in shifts and motion, he thinks the offense is “going to look very similar” to last year. Barner underwent two offseason surgeries, one of which was to address a nagging ankle injury that Barner said he initially suffered during the 2024 Senior Bowl before the Seahawks drafted him. After turning in the PPR TE14 performance last season, Barner might have a shot to crack the position’s top 12.

The Athletic’s Andrew Destin believes the Seahawks will feature RB Jadarian Price on early downs while RB George Holani plays the third-down, short-yardage and goal-line roles.

Destin reasonably wonders, “how much can Seattle feature Price as a pass catcher if he’s not trusted to block on third down?” He also thinks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) will replace Holani whenever Charbonnet returns. Destin adds that “Price was not drafted as a direct replacement for Walker,” though he expects Price to handle a similar role. Losing high-value touches to Holani and Charbonnet could keep Price stuck in the RB3/FLEX tier, though, in a sense, he controls his own destiny and could force the coaching staff to increase his red zone usage with high-quality play.

Reiss also notes that the Patriots have three pre-Week 1 practices remaining, and Henderson has not practiced since August 24th, when he sustained the injury. One week ago, a Boston Globe report indicated Henderson should be “good to go” for Week 1 against the Seahawks. He still has time to get right, but veteran RB Rhamondre Stevenson can be treated as the team’s clear-cut lead back for the time being.

The Athletic’s Matt Barrows said he is “sure” 49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles) “won’t be on the field for his usual 95 percent of the offensive snaps” in Week 1 against the Rams.

While Barrows’ statement is agreeable, it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. The 32-year-old tight end is returning from an Achilles tendon rupture and was a close call to even make the trip to Australia, so a snap count of sorts makes sense. For fantasy managers who can afford to take a wait-and-see approach, it might be worthwhile. He has reportedly had a great recovery and his resumé is as good as it gets at the tight end position. He will likely be ranked as a low-end TE1 by default in Week 1 against the Rams.

The Athletic’s Matt Barrows believes “the plan” is for WR De’Zhaun Stribling to be the primary slot receiver and WR Mike Evans’ “understudy” at X-receiver.

In his projected depth chart, Barrows lists Stribling as both the starting slot receiver and the No. 2 X-receiver. He does not place Stribling on the Z-receiver depth chart, which could mean the rookie wide receiver has not yet earned a role in two-wide receiver sets. Veteran WR Deebo Samuel is the starting Z-receiver, though Barrows already reported that Samuel will take only “a portion” of the overall Z-receiver snaps. It would be surprising to see Nos. 2-3 Z-receivers, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing, play ahead of Stribling when Samuel needs a breather, but the season is long and Stribling can always change Barrows’ mind. Early in the year, Stribling is likely best treated as a WR4/FLEX candidate. Were Evans to miss time, Stribling would seemingly slide into a full-time starting role.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter labeled Madubuike as “day-to-day” heading into Week 1. This does not necessarily mean Madubuike will take the field against the Colts next week, but it is a step in the right direction. Madubuike racked up 10 quarterback pressures, two sacks and three tackles in just two games played last year. Getting him back, even in a limited capacity, is a big deal.

Cardinals signed Michael Wilson to a three-year, $75 million extension through 2029.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal includes $47 million in guarantees, with a max value of $78 million. Wilson was set to enter a contract season in a week. Instead, he’ll be under contract with Arizona through the 2029 season. He broke out in the second half of the 2025 season and finished the year with his first 1,000-yard campaign. He compiled 775 of those yards in the final eight games of the year. Even if he can’t replicate those numbers over 17 weeks, Wilson took a massive step forward, and receivers aren’t cheap on the open market. It makes sense for Arizona to lock him up long-term instead of letting him test the waters of free agency next offseason.
