Dolphins claimed QB Brady Cook off waivers from the Jets.

Cook joins starter Malik Willis and recent acquisition Kyle McCord in the pecking order at quarterback for the Dolphins, with the assumption that McCord will serve as the primary backup on game days during the regular season. Either way, Cook now gets a fresh start after four starts across five appearances for the Jets during his rookie season. Tight end Justin Joly also joins the Dolphins after being released by the Broncos. The team kept four tight ends through final cuts, making the path to a roster spot more muddied, but he lands on his feet after being forced to contemplate a potential practice squad spot in Denver. Also claimed were DB Marcellus Dial, T Chukwuebuka Godrick, T Jarrett Kingston, DB Reese Taylor, and DB Julius Wood.

The Dolphins will be without Douglas, one of their two talented rookie wide receivers, against the Vikings’ top-tier defense today. He is sidelined by an ankle injury. Joly, the Dolphins’ rookie tight end, is inactive after making his debut last week. Cook wil serve as the team’s emergency third quarterback.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #1
Tolbert is listed as a second-stringer on the Dolphins’ depth, reinforcing coach Jeff Hafley’s confidence in rookie WRs Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas. Those two are listed as starters alongside slot WR Malik Washington. A wait-and-see approach is probably smart for the rookies, but they can be started in the FLEX spot as needed. Cook will serve as the emergency third quarterback.
  • FA Quarterback #4
Cook and fellow quarterback Bailey Zappe were let go as a part of the Jets’ final cuts. As a result, they will be keeping two quarterbacks on the active roster, with rookie Cade Klubnik winning the backup job. Also waived/released by the Jets were DB Mory Bamba, WR Junior Bergen, WR Cam Camper, S Dean Clark, DB Jordan Clark, EDGE Anthony Dunn Jr., LB Paschal Ekeji, OL Courtland Ford, G Liam Fornadel, DB Keenan Garber, G Marquis Hayes, DT Jack Heflin, OL Xavier Hill, LB Jaden Keller, Edge Nate Lynn, WR Malik McClain, S Jarius Monroe, DL Payton Page, WR Jamaal Pritchett, WR Quincy Skinner, DL Mazi Smith, DT Junior Tafuna, S Tanner Wall, LB Chase Wilson, OL Xavier Newman-Johnson, CB Samuel Womack III, OL Landon Young, QB Bailey Zappe, TE Chase Curtis, TE Connor Hulstein, and RB Dominic Richardson.

9NEWS’ Mike Klis writes that Joly “clearly” could use a redshirt year, which isn’t exactly great news for his dynasty prospects. We’ll see if another team wants to take a chance on him rather than letting him join Denver’s practice squad. Joly was a fifth-round pick this past year and it’s rare for teams to cut picks this early, but Denver’s roster is loaded.
  • NYJ Quarterback #11
Glenn added that Zappe took the second-team reps behind Geno Smith in practice on Wednesday. Zappe has the most NFL experience of the bunch, so that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. It also doesn’t mean he will hold the QB2 job into Week 1. Since entering the NFL, Zappe ranks 78th out of 84 qualified quarterbacks in EPA per play (min. 150 plays). The good news for him is that Cook holds spot No. 84. As a fourth-round pick, Klubnik does have some potential, and his competition for the QB2 job is exceptionally weak. No matter who earns the backup gig, the hope for Jets fans will be that we never see them in 2026.
  • DEN Tight End
Joly earned first-team All-ACC honors while leading NC State with 49 receptions and seven receiving touchdowns last year. It will be tough for him to earn snaps in year one, with veteran TE Evan Engram in-house, but Joly could compete for a starting role in the long run.
  • DEN Tight End
Joly (6’4/241) spent two years at UConn, breaking out in the second with a 52/578/2 receiving line. He then transferred to NC State and upped the ante again with 661 yards and four scores on 43 catches as a junior. Joly’s efficiency plummeted in 2025 and he turned six extra catches into 172 fewer yards, though he did score a career-high seven times. Joly doesn’t have one trait that sticks out as elite, but he can do a lot of things well. He navigates traffic after the catch well but is also aggressive at the catch point, having brought down 66 percent of his career contested targets. The Broncos add Joly as a potential long-term starter in a busy tight end room.
  • BAL Tight End #89
Ravens team reporter Ryan Mink adds that although TE Mark Andrews posted a career-low 422 receiving yards last season, “the Ravens see a rebound in 2026.” DeCosta’s comments could indicate otherwise, though the team lost TEs Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar in free agency. Mink also notes that the Ravens have picked two tight ends in the same draft four times in franchise history: 2022, 2018, 2015 and 2010. DeCosta has been with the Ravens for his whole career, dating back to 1996, and the strategy has worked well for the organization. Mink believes replacing Likely with a receiving tight end could be viewed as a need in the short term. He lists 10 potential draftees, including Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq, Ohio State TE Max Klare, Vanderbilt TE Eli Stowers, Baylor TE Michael Trigg and NC State TE Justin Joly.
  • FA Tight End
He will meet with the Panthers today and the other two teams next week. Joly has already had top-30 visits with the Bills, Broncos and Chiefs. Joly, 21, was an efficient player at both UConn (2022-2023) and NC State (2024-2025). He caught 47-of-66 targets for 468 yards and seven touchdowns last year, leading his team in both targets and receptions. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranks him fifth in the 2026 rookie class, positionally.
  • FA Tight End
The Broncos’ endless quest to find a Joker tight end for head coach Sean Payton continues. Joly, 21, caught 47-of-66 targets for 468 yards and seven touchdowns in his final college season. He played for UConn from 2022 to 2023 before transferring to NC State in 2024. Joly intriguingly demonstrated remarkable consistency on a per-route basis, averaging between 1.80 and 1.93 yards per route run in regular season play each year. Denver Post’s Luca Evans notes that the Broncos are “doing work” on the incoming tight end class.

Alvin Kamara rushed seven times for 23 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons, adding 35 yards on five receptions.

The Saints mustered just 16 running back carries in the first game without Travis Etienne, gaining just 50 yards on the ground in the blowout loss. The New Orleans offensive line was completely out-classed by the stout Atlanta defensive front. Kamara briefly departed with a knee injury that required two trips to the medical tent but would return to score his second touchdown of the evening in the fourth quarter. Kamara should continue to lead the backfield in the absence of Etienne and suddenly finds himself as an RB2 in fantasy circles ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Vikings.

Tyler Shough completed 30-of-48 passes for 286 yards and one touchdown in the Saints’ 45-24, Week 4 loss to the Falcons, adding five yards on two carries.

Shough and the Saints stayed true to recent form as they quickly fell into a 14-point hole in the first quarter, with the team now averaging an almost eight point deficit at the half since head coach Kellen Moore took over to start the 2025 season. The team was unable to reproduce the second half magic they so frequently muster behind an overmatched offensive line. Shough needed a late touchdown toss to Devaughn Vele with less than two minutes to play to give fantasy managers something of value. Moore and Shough have their work cut out for them with Brian Flores’ relentless defense coming to town in Week 5, where Shough will be on the QB1/2 border in fantasy circles.

Jahan Dotson caught 2-of-3 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

Dotson continues to operate as the team’s WR2 opposite Drake London but remains unlikely to return consistent fantasy production in an offense heavily concentrated on its top two options in London and Bijan Robinson. Dotson’s touchdown came in the fourth quarter with the team cruising, pushing the lead to 21 points with under 10 minutes to play. Fantasy managers can safely keep Dotson on the bench ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens in Atlanta.

Kyle Pitts caught all three targets for 47 yards in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

Pitts played just one snap on the team’s first two possessions before seeing modest usage the rest of the game. His counting stats were padded in the second half with a 28-yard, catch-and-run reception on a play action pass out of the flat. Pitts isn’t getting the snaps or route participation to return consistent fantasy production and is best left on fantasy benches for as long as Drake London remains healthy. That won’t change ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens.

Drake London caught 5-of-6 targets for 96 yards in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

London turned in his second consecutive usable fantasy week with Michael Penix under center. The low volume can primarily be attributed to just 20 Penix pass attempts in a game Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson combined for 207 yards and five touchdowns on the ground on 33 carries. London could be tasked with more volume when the Falcons host the Ravens in Week 5, for which he will remain an unquestioned WR1 in fantasy circles.

Brian Robinson rushed 14 times for 62 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints, adding five yards on one reception.

Robinson watched from the sidelines as Bijan cashed in on two first quarter rushing scores, getting in on the fun in the second quarter with a touchdown from four yards out. He would add one from eight yards out in the third quarter and cap off his outburst with an 11-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter to send the Falcons to a 2-2 record ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens. Brian Robinson remains an elite handcuff but is unlikely to return consistent fantasy production for as long as Bijan remains healthy, despite the eruption against the Saints.

Bijan Robinson rushed 19 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints, adding two yards on one reception.

Week 4 marked Robinson’s second consecutive game going over 100 yards with two touchdowns on the ground, this time aided by a 59-yard touchdown run on his first touch of the game. The Falcons tied a franchise record with five rushing scores, with backfield mate Brian Robinson adding three to the two of Bijan. The return of quarterback Michael Penix has given the Falcons the threat of passing after dropping their first two games of the season behind suboptimal play from the position, and nobody has benefited more from reduced numbers in the box than Robinson. He’ll look to keep the momentum going as a top-tier RB1 when the Falcons host the Ravens in Week 5.

Michael Penix completed 15-of-20 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons’ 45-24, Week 4 win over the Saints.

Penix wasn’t asked to do much with his arm as the Falcons tied a franchise record with five rushing scores, but the threat of consistent and reliable passing has done wonders for a Falcons offense that looked lost through two games behind poor quarterback play. It also doesn’t hurt when your All Pro running back goes for a 59-yard touchdown on his first touch of the game. The Falcons were never threatened by an underperforming Saints team after jumping out to a 14-point lead in the first quarter. Penix has yet to be called on for increased passing volume through two starts, something that could change, pending the health of Lamar Jackson, in Week 5 when they host the Ravens. Penix remains a middling QB2 and does not warrant starting in all formats outside of two-quarterback leagues.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is considered “week-to-week.”

Barkley departed the team’s Week 4 loss to the Rams in the second quarter and did not return, with Ian Rapoport relaying that the team views him as “week-to-week,” for the time being. Rapoport added that the team does not view the injury as a long-term issue. Regardless, Barkley appears set to miss multiple games with the soft tissue injury, leaving the team paper thin at running back after backup Tank Bigsby inured a core muscle that requires surgery. Will Shipley is the only other back currently on the active roster, while Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele, and Jaydon Blue are with the team on the practice squad. Shipley warrants a waiver addition while managers in deeper leagues can consider taking an early flier on Blue.
