Tyler Higbee goes for just 12 yards in loss

Tyler Higbee caught both of his targets for 12 yards in the Rams’ Week 1 loss to the 49ers.

Higbee ended up leading the Rams’ tight ends in targets and receptions, as Davis Allen had just one catch before exiting with a head injury, and Terrance Ferguson didn’t catch his only opportunity. Ferguson still seems like the tight end to roster going forward, but one could argue Higbee has the higher floor because he’ll see more snaps because of his blocking ability. That’s not a ringing endorsement, if it’s not obvious. The Rams will try and get it going against the Giants in Week 2.

Higbee continued to operate as the primary pass-catching tight end against the Bills, something that must please fantasy managers considering Colby Parkinson returned from a one-game absence. Furthermore, the team carried only three tight ends on the active game-day roster after being at either four or five through the first month of the 2026 season. Higbee is a middling TE2 in fantasy circles ahead of a juicy matchup against the divisional rival Cardinals in Week 6.
  • LA Tight End #84
Parkinson is unlikely to be startable as a TE1 if he plays on Monday night, but his return will likely reduce Tyler Higbee’s snap share. Higbee has been TE1-viable in each of the last two weeks.
  • LA Tight End #84
Parkinson has a chance to return for the Rams’ Monday Night Football game against the Bills. If this is the case, he would hurt Tyler Higbee’s snap share, threatening the latter’s TE1 viability.
  • LA Tight End #89
One of only two healthy Rams tight ends, Higbee was the Rams’ clear-cut No. 3 passing-game weapon behind a returning Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. There’s a huge gulf between the Rams’ wideouts and Higbee, but he should be able to provide TE2 streamer value for the next several weeks, including Week 5 against the Bills.
  • LA Tight End #18
Ferguson briefly departed after injuring his ankle in the team’s Sunday Night Football loss to the Broncos, returning for two snaps prior to departing again after his lone reception of the evening. The ankle injury now appears likely to cost the talented young tight end at least one game, with the potential for the absence to linger if the sprain is “more high than low.” McVay also relayed that fellow tight end Colby Parkinson suffered an AC sprain and is considered day-to-day. Veteran Tyler Higbee would be in line to operate as the primary receiving tight end after amassing 62 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions in Week 3, should both miss. Higbee should be added in all formats as a potential TE1 in the immediate future.
  • LA Tight End #89
Higbee’s first quarter touchdown got the scoring started for the Rams, but it wasn’t until Terrance Ferguson departed with an ankle injury that his volume truly took off. From that point forward, Higbee was one of the primary options through the air, finishing two targets behind Davante Adams for the team lead. Fantasy managers will want to monitor Ferguson’s status closely in the coming week as Higbee could become a legitimate waiver target should Ferguson miss time.
  • LA Tight End #18
Atkins added, “The ideal outcome for him is to lead their tight ends in catches and yards.” He noted that the coaching staff was focused on bringing Ferguson along incrementally in 2025. Now they will have the chance to move him into a more prominent role for his second season. Ferguson only caught 11 passes as a rookie, but he parlayed a seam-stretching role into 231 yards and three scores despite the low reception total. Atkins sees Ferguson as a de facto No. 3 receiver for the team, with Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee both fulfilling the role of a traditional inline tight end. Rookie Max Klare will also be in the mix for snaps, but will likely be brought along slowly as well. With an ADP that barely even registers in early best ball drafts, Ferguson is worth a look as a high-upside TE3.
  • CLG Tight End
Sadiq out of Oregon is widely expected to be a first round pick after setting record at the NFL Combine. Bowen believes the hyper-athletic tight end could be a situation matchup player for Sean McVay, who used three tight end sets at the NFL’s highest rate in 2025. “With his frame and 4.39 speed, Sadiq could be a seam stretcher for quarterback Matthew Stafford. Plus, McVay could use Sadiq as a backside X receiver/power slot to draw favorable man matchups.” Sadiq, who had 80 receptions over three seasons at Oregon, could fit the LA offense “as a catch-and-run target on boot action concepts,” Bowen said. Stafford last season led the NFL with 75 pass attempts on designed rollouts. It’s a crowded tight end room in LA, with Colby Parikson, Tyler Higbee, Terrance Ferguson, and Davis Allen on the roster. Sadiq would likely function as a rotational player if he lands with the Rams, who have the 13th pick in the 2026 draft.
  • LA Tight End #89
The deal prevents Higbee from entering free agency next week. The longtime Rams tight end spent time on injured reserve during the 2025 season, rehabbing an ankle injury. At 33 years old, he is best suited to a rotational role. Fortunately for him, the Rams employ a heavy tight end rotation while regularly calling plays out to 3TE sets. He caught 25-of-35 targets for 281 yards and three touchdowns last season. Higbee is not on the TE1 radar anymore.
  • LA Tight End #89
Higbee is still deciding on his future. The 33-year-old lifelong Ram was lost in the 3TE set shuffle last year and wouldn’t figure to be an interesting fantasy tight end if he re-signed in Los Angeles.

Alvin Kamara (back) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Kamara played through the back injury last week but only touched the ball five times. Kendre Miller rushed 10 times and CJ Donaldson led the team in snaps. The Saints are likely managing Kamara’s workload as he deals with this back issue. Kamara is not on the fantasy radar for Week 6.

Michael Penix (ribs) is practicing in full for Week 6 against the Bears.

This is great news for the Falcons’ offense, which can barely function with Tua Tagovailoa at the helm. Penix is firmly on track to play in Week 6 against the Bears, as long as he gets through the week setback-free. Penix can be viewed as a high-end QB2 with four teams on bye.

Tyjae Spears (knee) was limited on Wednesday.

The Titans’ receiving specialist has been an injury report staple thus far, though he has previously been listed with an ankle issue. An early-week limited session puts him on track to play, though he is only relevant in PPR leagues.

Keisean Nixon (groin) did not practice Wednesday.

Nixon is the Packers’ top outside corner. He has three pass breakups and one interception this year. His absence would be a big loss for a defense that is only slightly above average in EPA per play and points allowed this year. It would be a particularly big development for George Pickens, who leads the Cowboys in outside receiver routes this year.

Tank Dell (knee) is practicing in full for Week 6 against the Jaguars.

The Texans are facing the Jaguars in London this week. If Dell travels, that would indicate that Dell has a chance to play for the first time since suffering a multi-ligament tear in 2024. He would be a low-floor FLEX if he is active.

Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said Jeremiyah Love (ankle) will not practice on Wednesday.

The Cardinals are listing Love with just one ankle injury, but recent reports, including quotes from LaFleur, have said that Love is still managing the high-ankle sprain he suffered in the preseason and may have injured the other ankle in Week 4. LaFleur said the current plan is to “give it a little bit of rest and see as the week goes on.” Tyler Allgeier offers little standalone value, but he should be rostered in 12-team leagues.

Carson Schwesinger (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Mason Graham is expected to miss multiple weeks with an ankle injury of his own and Maliek Collins missed today’s practice with a foot injury. That’s three front-seven starters potentially out for Week 6. With Lamar Jackson still banged up, expect the Ravens to give Derrick Henry all the touches he can handle this week.

Denzel Boston (foot) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

A limited practice to start the week is usually nothing more than maintenance. Boston should still be a safe bet to suit up on Sunday. The second-round rookie has already cemented himself as an impressive downfield threat with three touchdowns and three catches of 40+ yards. He’s managed several spike weeks despite the Browns’ up-and-down performances on offense. Health permitting, Boston will be a low-end WR3 for Week 6 versus Baltimore.

Tytus Howard (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

The Browns acquired Howard from Houston in the offseason. Howard left Week 5 with the knee issue and a DNP today suggests he will miss at least one week. Dawand Jones took his spot in the lineup on Sunday and would presumably draw the start at right tackle if Howard is out.

Cam Jurgens (concussion) was limited on Wednesday.

The Ravens’ new starting center is still recovering from his recent concussion, but he seemingly has a chance to face the Browns this week. Ravens EDGE Trey Hendrickson (finger) and S Kyle Hamilton (stinger) are practicing fully, while RT Roger Rosengarten (knee), OG John Simpson (groin), OG Andrew Vorhees (foot), LT Ronnie Stanley (rest/toe/ankle) and CB Marlon Humphrey (hamstring/calf) were limited.
