Caleb Douglas caught 2-of-3 targets for 19 yards in a Week 2 loss to the 49ers before sustaining an ankle injury.

Douglas left the stadium in a walking boot, and while it is likely precautionary, it’s certainly something to monitor. The rookie got his ankle rolled up on while blocking late in the second half. He did escape being pinned quickly and was walking on the sideline, so perhaps it’s not a serious injury. Douglas appears to have the WR1 role for the Dolphins, playing on 51 of the team’s 56 snaps and running a route on 26 of Malik Willis’ 30 dropbacks, even counting the time missed with the ankle injury. The results may not be there early on, but Douglas remains worth a bench stash given his role.

Douglas hasn’t played since Week 2 against the 49ers, but the rookie caught five passes for 94 yards in his pro debut against the Raiders and has been targeted on 16.4 percent of his routes. Stuck in a Dolphins offense that currently ranks 31st in scoring and passing yards, Douglas will be hard to trust as anything more than a fringe WR3/WR4 this week against a top-five Jets pass defense.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
That’s back-to-back limited sessions from Douglas as he attempts to come back from an injury suffered in Week 2. We’d bet on him getting to the questionable line at this point given the significant layoff, but he does have a real chance to play against the Jets in Week 7 and be a WR4/FLEX candidate.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Douglas told reporters that he has finally progressed to being “day-to-day,” giving him a real chance to suit up in Week 7 against the Jets. Douglas should be added in 12-team formats. He played very well early on and will likely warrant FLEX consideration upon his return.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Douglas has not practiced or played since Week 2. If only there were some sort of “injured reserve list” he could be placed on. Ah well.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Dolphins coach Jeff Halfey said Douglas is “doing better” but is not ready to practice yet. It sounds like the rookie will miss another week. Malik Washington will continue to operate as the Dolphins’ No. 1 receiver, putting him in the WR3 mix for Week 5. Fellow rookie Chris Bell has seen his role grow every week, but the fantasy numbers aren’t there to match. He was held without a catch on three targets in Week 4. Bell is a solid long-term stash but barely cracks the WR5 ranks for Miami’s matchup with the Bengals.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
It’s hard to know what to make of this, but Douglas has missed back-to-back games with his injury and could be at risk of missing a third straight game if he can’t get on the practice field ahead of Week 5’s game against the Bengals. Douglas did not practice at all last week, so even getting on the field in a limited capacity would be an improvement. His name will be one to keep an eye on when the Dolphins release their first injury report on Wednesday.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
The Dolphins will be without Douglas, one of their two talented rookie wide receivers, against the Vikings’ top-tier defense today. He is sidelined by an ankle injury. Joly, the Dolphins’ rookie tight end, is inactive after making his debut last week. Cook wil serve as the team’s emergency third quarterback.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Douglas will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury, paving the way for fellow rookie Chris Bell to build on his Week 3 performance in which he went for 4-67-0 on eight targets. Bell and all Dolphins pass-catchers will be tough for fantasy managers to trust as anything more than WR4s on the road against a Vikings defense that could give them fits all afternoon.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
We expect to see Douglas listed with a second DNP next to his name today, putting him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 4 against the Vikings. Were he indeed to miss this week’s game, WRs Chris Bell (knee) and Malik Washington would benefit. Washington’s target volume is somewhat intriguing, but Bell looks like the far more talented player.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Douglas, who has shown flashes in limited action so far this season, did not suit up in Week 3 against the Chiefs and looks like a long shot for Week 4 against the Vikings. Douglas’ absence would be a potential boost for Malik Washington, who leads the Dolphins in targets and air yards through Week 3. Minnesota’s defense, while elite, has allowed the fourth most air yards this season and profiles as a pass-funnel.

Sam LaPorta said he wants to continue playing for the Lions long-term.

Earlier this week, LaPorta expressed frustration in an interview about his contract negotiations stalling in-season. The Athletic’s Colton Pouncy asked him a few follow-up questions today on the matter today, and LaPorta made clear that he hopes to remain a Lion long-term and is excited about the prospect of raising a family in Detroit. LaPorta seemed extremely earnest, saying he felt bad about his comments potentially causing a distraction for his team, but he knows his teammates care for him and want him to be happy and compensated. He handled the issue well and appears to be ready to play hard for a lucrative contract extension, which is good news for fantasy managers. LaPorta is a locked-in TE1 against the Packers this week.

Jevón Holland (concussion) is questionable to play in Week 7 against the Texans.

Holland, the Giants’ starting free safety, and Tyler Nubin (neck), the Giants’ starting strong safety, are both questionable to play. Meanwhile, starting perimeter CB Greg Newsome (concussion) has been ruled out. Expect the Texans’ passing offense to stay hot this week.

Rashid Shaheed (hip) is not on the Seahawks’ final injury report and will play in Week 7 against the Chiefs.

The Seahawks’ sporadic producer will be on the field against the Chiefs this week. Shaheed has been involved as a receiver and as a rusher, scoring touchdowns in consecutive weeks. He offers a low floor, but he makes for a viable FLEX starter this week.

CJ Donaldson (shoulder) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 7 against the Steelers.

Donaldson is the third member of the Saints’ backfield committee. While he will get a few touches this week, he is not getting enough work for fantasy relevance.

Landon Dickerson (knee/pectoral) was limited on Friday.

Dickerson injured a pectoral muscle on Thursday, complicating his knee-related return from injured reserve. He is firmly in the questionable camp at this time. Eagles C Drew Kendall (knee) was upgraded to full participation.

Saquon Barkley (hamstring) was limited on Friday.

We had really hoped to see Barkley practice in full today. He still has a chance to take the field when the Eagles face the Cowboys in Week 7’s Monday Night Football game, but he is inching toward a questionable designation right now. Upgrading to full tomorrow would increase his odds of playing.

Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) did not practice on Friday.

Dallas Goedert (knee) did not practice on Friday.

Goedert is on the wrong side of questionable for the Eagles’ Week 7 Monday Night Football game against the Cowboys. The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reports that as of Thursday, there was “optimism” about Goedert’s Week 7 availability. Hopefully, he resumes practicing tomorrow.

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane said he got “the sense” that DeVonta Smith (hamstring) will not play in Week 7 against the Cowboys.

Like Thursday, Smith was sidelined for Friday’s practice. The Eagles have been managing his practice reps and pulled him out for multiple drives in their Week 6 loss to the Panthers. The Eagles face the Cowboys on Monday night, giving Smith an extra day to rest. Consider him highly questionable to play at this time. McLane adds that Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) could also sit out this week.

Kendal Daniels (neck) is questionable to play in Week 7 against the 49ers.

Daniels was taken off the field on a stretcher last week, but managed to practice in full to begin the week. Daniels, a rookie, has 23 tackles, three quarterback pressures and one sack this season.
