Jets EDGE David Bailey (elbow) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Lions.

Bailey should be good to go for Week 3. Fellow Jets EDGE Joseph Ossai (foot) is limited to begin the week, and S Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin) remains sidelined. The Lions’ offensive line is banged up. Having both pass rushers available would be helpful.

Fitzpatrick did not practice at all this week. Starting EDGE Joseph Ossai (foot) is questionable to play, though rookie EDGE David Bailey (elbow) is good to go. This looks like a potentially high-scoring game.
  • NYJ Cornerback #23
We knew Fitzpatrick had already been ruled out with a groin injury. D’Angelo Pounds had practiced all week, and Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said that he was healthy enough to play, but apparently there is no room for him in the secondary at the moment. The good news for the Jets is that Will McDonald (ankle) is active and will play.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #11
This was always expected to be the case, but head coach Aaron Glenn said on Friday, while speaking with the media, that Cooper, RB/KR Kene Nwangwu (back), S Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin), and EDGE Joseph Ossai (foot) will all miss Sunday’s game against the Packers. It was reported earlier this week that the Jets are hoping to have Cooper back “within the next four weeks,” so it wouldn’t be surprising if he also missed Week 3’s game against the Lions.
  • Fitzpatrick went down with the groin injury in the first quarter of the Jets’ Week 1 win against the Titans and did not return to the game. A big addition to a New York secondary that was among the league’s worst in 2025, Fitzpatrick will look to get back on the field by the end of September. The Jets will be without their starting safety this week against the Packers. Fitzpatrick’s absence could be a boon for Jordan Love and the Green Bay passing attack.
  • Fitzpatrick attempted to return to the field in Week 1’s win over the Titans before officially being ruled out. If we don’t get an update before Wednesday, his status will be one to keep an eye on when the team releases its first injury report. The Jets will play host to the Packers in Week 2.
  • The offseason trade acquisition went down very early in the proceedings, though the Jets claimed he was “questionable.” He was seen trying to warm up and return. He was then downgraded to “doubtful” after halftime, and would appear to be done for the afternoon. Injuries have been an ongoing issue for the 29-year-old, though they are typically not of the season-ending variety. The fact that Fitzpatrick tried to return today suggests he could be out there for Week 2.
  • NYJ Cornerback #23
The Jets have not released their final injury report, but this news comes from head coach Aaron Glenn, who spoke with the media Friday morning. Ponds was a limited participant in each of the team’s first two practices this week, but the belief is he hasn’t had enough time to be ready for the season opener. It doesn’t sound like the second-round rookie has suffered any setbacks in his recovery, so hopefully he’ll be on track to make his debut in Week 2 against the Packers. Glenn also said RB Kene Nwangwu (back) is doubtful while EDGE Joseph Ossai (foot) and WR Tim Patrick (groin) will be held out of Sunday’s game.
  • NYJ Defensive End #46
He’s an IR possibility ahead of Week 1. Ossai, signed in the offseason from the Bengals, was expected to be a big part of the Jets rotation on the edge. His absence will elevate playing time for Will McDonald and Kingsley Enagbare.
  • The Jets used their No. 2 overall pick to shore up their pass-rush with the selection of Bailey. The former Texas Tech Red Raider racked up a blistering 14.5 sacks and 19.5 TFLs in his last collegiate season, earning Unanimous All-American honors while also being named the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year. In their first season under head coach Aaron Glenn, the Jets were among the worst defenses in the league, allowing the second-most points and the eighth-most yards per game, and were one of the worst against the pass. They impressively failed to force an interception all of last season and tallied the second-fewest sacks (26) of any team. If he lives up to his potential, Bailey should help improve those sack totals and may even force a quarterback into making a bad decision or two along the way.
  • Unanimous All-American and Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year David Bailey (6’4/251) delivered a dominant all-around season in 2025, earning an elite 93.6 overall PFF grade with standout marks as a pass rusher (94th-percentile). He was consistently effective off the edge, piling up 81 total pressures that included 14.5 sacks, 23 hits, and 43 hurries, while also batting 2 passes at the line of scrimmage. Bailey paired that havoc with reliable run defense (78.1 run-defense grade) and strong tackling efficiency, recording 40 stops with a manageable 11.9% missed-tackle rate. He backed up the ample production with high level testing, recording 99th-percentile marks in the 40-yard dash (4.50s) and broad jump (10’9”) for a pristine 9.68 RAS. The combination of high-end pressure production, paired with elevated play against the run, makes Bailey one of the most decorated and projectable defenders in the class, and a potential cornerstone of the Jets’ rebuilding defense.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that EDGE Nick Bosa (calf) will miss multiple weeks.

Bosa strained his calf while going through his pre-practice warm-up routine on Thursday. The team has not yet identified Bosa’s expected return timeline, but the 49ers’ pass rusher will be out for some time. The 49ers also ruled out EDGE Romello Height (hand) for Week 3 against the Cardinals as well.

Dolphins WR Chris Bell (knee) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Bell upgraded to full participation on Friday after two limited sessions. The rookie wide receiver has been bothered by fluid and soreness in his surgically repaired knee since Week 1, so the Dolphins have limited his snaps in-game. With fellow rookie WR Caleb Douglas (ankle) sidelined for Week 3, the coaching staff could draw up a couple of extra plays with Bell in mind, though he can only be viewed as a WR4.

MarShawn Lloyd played on 22.7 percent of the offensive snaps in the Packers’ Week 3 loss to the Falcons.

The Packers largely played in a trailing game script last night. Lloyd does not have meaningful access to passing down snaps, logging just one snap on third down and none in the two-minute drill, making him mostly dependent on decent rushing workloads. He played 45.5 percent of the red zone snaps and took the lone snap inside the five-yard line, but was held out of the end zone. Lloyd’s six touches led the backfield, but are hardly enough to keep him locked in 12-team FLEX spots.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) resumed practicing on Friday.

Smith was back at practice, logging a limited session, after sitting out yesterday. The Eagles’ WR1 is on track to play, but hamstring injuries can be finicky. This is worth tracking closely. The Bears have fielded a very fantasy-friendly pass defense thus far, making this a favorable matchup for the Eagles’ passing attack.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (stinger) practiced in full on Friday.

Barkley told reporters after practice that he is confident in his rehab program and plans to play in Week 3 against the Bears. His backups, RB Tank Bigsby (abdomen) and RB Will Shipley (foot), both resumed practicing today as limited participants. Expect Barkley to handle his normal workload in what should be a run-heavy game plan.

Rams TE Terrance Ferguson (ankle) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 against the Broncos.

Ferguson is set to handle No. 2 pass-catcher duties with WR Puka Nacua (hip) sidelined this week. The young tight end posted a 6/54/1 receiving line in Week 2 and can be viewed as a TE1 in this matchup.

Cardinals qB Jacoby Brissett (hip) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 against the 49ers.

Brissett practiced fully all week, despite the hip injury. Brissett is not quite hitting the peaks he produced last year and is too tough to trust in 12-team leagues. Consider him a QB2 against the 49ers this week.

Cardinals CB Garrett Williams (Achilles) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals lost their top perimeter CB Will Johnson (neck) to injured reserve this week. Fellow perimeter CB Max Melton (toe) is questionable to play. Williams suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture last year, and returns this week to man the slot.

Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright (stinger/foot) is doubtful for Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Wright was unable to practice on Friday. He is very unlikely to play, although his absence may only be felt in the return game. Dolphins RB
    Ollie Gordon

will serve as the top backup.

49ers ruled out WR Demarcus Robinson (ankle) for Week 3 against the Cardinals.

This was the expected outcome for Week 3. Reports on Robinson’s injury indicate this could be a multi-week issue. With WR1 Mike Evans (hip) questionable, WR Deebo Samuel and TE George Kittle could take on sizable workloads, though the team will likely still try to limit Kittle’s snap count.
