Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 10-of-14 targets for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks’ Week 3 loss to the Commanders.

Goodness gracious. Smith-Njigba did have a drop, but it was yet another dominant effort for the 24-year-old. His first touchdown saw him fake a fade route only to comeback to the pylon for an easy six, and then he and Sam Darnold connected for a second time on a pass over the middle in the end zone. That’s already six touchdowns in three games for the 24-year-old, and he’s reached the century mark in all three contests. On top of that, he also completed a 14-yard pass. Asking for this kind of red-zone production every week is tough, but he’s more than capable of these kind of fireworks. Obviously. JSN will be a WR1 and then some for Week 4 against the Chargers.

On the Seahawks’ second play from scrimmage, a Cardinals safety somehow failed to pick up Smith-Njigba, streaking down the right sideline, after he snuck right past CB Will Johnson. Seahawks QB Drew Lock noticed and fired a perfect pass to Smith-Njigba in stride, leading to the Seahawks’ wide receiver’s longest career gain. The rest of the day played out similarly, with Smith-Njigba routing up defenders right and left. He scored again on the Seahawks’ seventh drive, leaping past a diving cornerback to make the catch in the end zone. Lock linked up with him again for a third score in the back of the end zone, threading the ball past a linebacker in the end zone as Smith-Njigba broke left on a crosser, dusting Cardinals S Budda Baker.

Sam Darnold went down with a hip injury on the first drive of the night. It took Drew Lock a couple of drives to dial in on JSN, but it was business as usual once he did. No Seahawk saw more than three targets aside from Smith-Njigba. He finished the night with a monstrous 41.7 percent target share. His highlight of the night wa sa 45-yard catch-and-run for Seattle’s only touchdown of the game. Even if Darnold misses time, JSN’s role is so fantasy-friendly that he will remain well inside the WR1 ranks for his Week 2 date with the Cardinals.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #22
Shaheed reportedly had “major” performances throughout spring practices, hitting it off with QB Sam Darnold. Per Fowler, the Seahawks will continue to use WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba on PPR-friendly short and intermediate routes that helped him finish as the overall WR2 in total PPR scoring. But, rather than keeping Shaheed stuck in a field-stretching role, they plan to direct more short-to-intermediate stuff to Shaheed as well. Shaheed still has to go out and score more points this season, but this is the exact type of role change he needs to elevate above a frustratingly volatile fantasy profile.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the deal. The 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl Champion will sign the richest contract extension for a receiver in NFL history, which includes $120 million in guaranteed money. JSN is coming off back-to-back 100-catch seasons and went for 119-1,793-10 last season while averaging a career-high 15.1 YPR, and came up big in the playoffs, scoring twice in three playoff games on the way to a Super Bowl title. This extension comes just days after the Seahawks exercised JSN’s fifth-year option and will now keep him under contract through 2031.

Per ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Smith-Njigba’s 2027 salary is fully guaranteed and should make him roughly $23.85 million. Evidently, the 24-year-old wide receiver hit a pay scale escalator with his “one initial-ballot Pro Bowl,” boosting the value of his fifth-year option. Overall, Smith-Njigba has earned one first-team All-Pro spot and made two Pro Bowls through his three NFL seasons. He led the league with 1,793 receiving yards last year. Henderson previously suggested that the fifth-year option could be used to buy both sides more time as they work toward a potential record-setting, long-term extension.

Smith-Njigba led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards en route to Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors this season. He turned 24 years old earlier this month and believes he deserves to be the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Smith-Njigba’s teammate, and fellow 2023 first-round draftee, Witherspoon also took home Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors this year. Witherspoon should end up being handsomely paid as well, though it is unclear whether he is a candidate to reset the positional market. ESPN’s Brady Henderson notes that the Seahawks can exercise a fifth-year option on both contracts by May 1, giving all involved extra time to negotiate long-term deals if need be. Were the Seahawks to make Smith-Njigba the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver, the contract would average more than $40 million per year in new money.

It was a rare off night for JSN on an evening where almost every other Seahawk was flying around the field and on their A game. It’s a credit to the Patriots, though their only credit in a blowout defeat. JSN also survived a foot issue and concussion evaluation as he posted his second lowest yardage total of the year. Switching quarterbacks, coordinators and offensive philosophies, it was an open question whether JSN could build off his breakout 2024. He ended up posting the eighth most receiving yards in NFL history, with his 1,793 tallies built off the back of stunning consistency. JSN posted fewer than 70 yards only one time all season, and more than 100 nine times. Smith-Njigba was a true inside-out threat, with “just” 27.9 percent of his targets coming out of the slot. Still somehow only 24 years old next week, JSN now heads into the offseason the candidate for a mega extension as he enters the final two years of his rookie deal. This is probably a situation the Seahawks will get out in front of. Regardless of his contract status, JSN is firmly in the mix for No. 1 overall status in 2026 fantasy drafts.

Smith-Njigba put together an extremely impressive stat line in his third NFL season, catching 119-of-163 targets for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors this year after blossoming into a true No. 1 wide receiver.

Smith-Njigba opened with a sensational one-handed catch in what would be a masterpiece game from both the third-year receiver and offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Kubiak schemed Smith-Njigba wide open out of the backfield for his touchdown, and continued to pepper him with short slants against zone and play-action routes late. Smith-Njigba hauled in only one catch in the fourth quarter, but it was an outstanding second-and-10 route that left his defender in the dust and set Seattle up to drain most of the remaining clock. He’ll be priority No. 1 for the New England defense in Super Bowl LX.

It was his worst line of the season by pure yardage, but as in the other game he dudded (23 yards against Max Brosmer’s Vikings), it came in a game the Seahawks choked the life out of early. His touchdown catch was phenomenal, a toe tap near the back of the end zone as Sam Darnold drifted out to his left. Playoff Best Ball drafters will hope the Rams or Bears can put up more of an offensive show against Seattle’s incredible defense in the NFC Championship game.

Colston Loveland caught all four targets for 31 yards in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles.

Loveland matched his to-date season total of one reception on the second play from scrimmage and narrowly missed his first touchdown of the young season after replay assist ruled him down inside the one at the start of the second quarter. The offense would turn the ball over on downs four plays later after failing to punch it in, allowing the Eagles to remain in the game for longer than they otherwise should have been. Either way, it’s a step in the right direction for the talented youngster, although the absence of Caleb Williams could further dent his fantasy upside in the immediate future. Loveland continues to be a TE1 in fantasy circles despite the slow start, which holds for when the Bears play host to the Jets in Week 4.

Rome Odunze caught 3-of-6 targets for 44 yards in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles.

Odunze continues to function as the deep threat in Ben Johnson’s offense, which spells trouble for his fantasy value in the immediate future considering the absence of Caleb Williams. Case Keenum got the start under center against the Eagles, and while he kept the offense on track through veteran savvy, his general lack of arm strength limited the offense to hefty rates of attacking the short-to-intermediate areas of the field. It is unclear whether Keenum or Tyson Bagent will draw the start in Week 4, but the decision could dictate whether Odunze can be inserted into fantasy rosters against the Jets.

Luther Burden caught 7-of-11 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles, adding seven yards on one carry.

Burden got the scoring started with a shovel-pass touchdown on the first possession of the game and continued to be the primary engine of the offense on a night the team was led by veteran journeyman Case Keenum. Head coach Ben Johnson handily outmatched his counterpart in Sean Mannion, keeping the offense in rhythm and unpredictable throughout. Burden should continue to improve upon his early-season returns for fantasy managers that chased him up draft boards this offseason, particularly once Caleb Williams returns to the starting roster in a few weeks. In the meantime, treat Burden as an upside WR2 ahead of a Week 4 meeting with the Jets in Chicago.

Kalif Raymond caught 6-of-7 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles.

Raymond has now led the Bears in receiving in two of the team’s first three games, with Week 3 his best performance yet on the back of a 41-yard touchdown through busted coverage. It isn’t likely the career role player will lead the team in receiving throughout the season, but the early returns on investment must have fantasy managers ecstatic for those that either drafted him in the final round or scooped him off the wire following Week 1.

Kyle Monangai rushed 10 times for 31 yards in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles.

Monangai has exactly 10 carries in all three games to start the 2026 season, which pales in comparison to lead back D’Andre Swift, the latter of whom has seen 19 or more opportunities in each game. The lack of volume relegates Monangai to handcuff status in fantasy circles for the time being, at least until bye weeks begin in Week 5. He’ll be a difficult start in Week 4 against the Jets.

D’Andre Swift rushed 20 times for 84 yards in the Bears’ Week 3 win over the Eagles, adding four yards on two receptions.

Swift was unable to churn out consistent gains before the break but came alive with the team nursing a second half lead, gaining 53 of his 84 yards on five second half possessions. It was also the third straight game in which Swift handled 19 or more opportunities, something he did only seven times in all of 2025, cementing his status as a volume-driven, back-end RB1 in fantasy circles. He’ll remain a weekly start when the Bears host the Jets in Week 4.

Case Keenum completed 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears’ 27-7, Week 3 win over the Eagles, adding six yards and a touchdown on four carries.

Head coach Ben Johnson was in his bag from the opening series, trusting Keenum to take to the air on the team’s first two plays from scrimmage. That set the tone for the remainder of the game as the Bears dominated time of possession, running 69 offensive plays to the 47 of the Eagles. Keenum was not perfect by any stretch, with no fewer than three attempts that placed the ball in immediate danger. He would escape with a clean sheet in the turnover department while exceeding expectations within the structure of Johnson’s offense, routinely delivering the football on time and where it needed to go. His counting stats were padded slightly by a 41-yard touchdown to Kalif Raymond against busted coverage in the third quarter and a fourth quarter rushing plunge from one yard out, but he did enough to guide the Bears to a 2-1 record ahead of a Week 4 meeting with the Jets. It remains unclear if Keenum will draw another start under center now that Tyson Bagent will have a full week of preparation. Neither would be an exciting fantasy option against Aaron Glenn’s New York defense.

Makai Lemon caught 3-of-4 targets for 29 yards in the Eagles’ Week 3 loss to the Bears.

Lemon was the target on the team’s first play from scrimmage, gaining a first down on a first down play for the Eagles for the first time all season. The offense would sputter throughout the game on their way to only 47 offensive plays run from scrimmage, capping the fantasy upside of all involved in the process. Lemon has yet to live up to his lofty draft capital through the first three games of his professional career, but he could be called on for heavier work with tight end Dallas Goedert nursing an MCL sprain. Things don’t get any easier with a matchup against the Rams on deck for Week 4, where Lemon can safely be left on fantasy benches.

Dontayvion Wicks caught 2-of-5 targets for 32 yards in the Eagles’ Week 3 loss to the Bears.

For his part, Wicks was consistently breaking free of coverage with smooth route-running ability, but the offense managed just over 23 minutes time of possession on 47 offensive plays, leaving all involved stuck on a sinking ship. Better fantasy days should be ahead for Wicks in the immediate future, at least for as long as tight end Dallas Goedert remains sidelined with an MCL sprain. That said, he draws a difficult matchup against the Rams in Week 4. Treat Wicks as a viable FLEX option in a tough spot.

Zach Ertz caught 1-of-2 targets for nine yards in the Eagles’ Week 3 loss to the Bears.

Ertz saw his snaps managed after both signing with the team Tuesday and returning from a torn ACL suffered in 2025, grabbing one of two targets in his first game in an Eagles uniform since 2021. There is very little fantasy upside here even as Dallas Goedert nurses an MCL sprain. Ertz can safely be left on the waiver wire.
