Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 9-of-12 targets for 150 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ Week 7 win over the Chiefs.

Is there anyone in the league doing it better than Smith-Njigba at the moment? The reigning receiving leader put on an absolute show in this one, making two nearly identical bread basket catches down the left sideline in the second quarter, the first of which he snuck inside the pylon for his touchdown. He was forced out at the two on the second, resulting in an end zone interception from Sam Darnold two plays later. Those two long receptions before the break helped push Smith-Njigba to 126 yards and a touchdown before halftime, and he added an additional 24 yards on three more receptions in the final two frames as the Seahawks transitioned to a more ground-heavy attack while playing with the lead. Fantasy’s early-season cheat code has now gone over 100 yards in six of seven games while notching a league-leading eight receiving touchdowns. It goes without saying, but Smith-Njigba remains the overall WR1 in a solid matchup against the Bears in Week 8.
Week 8 reaction: Broncos soaring, Cowboys slumping
John Fanta and Jay Croucher get into the phone lines after NFL Week 8, where Broncos fans are flying high while Cowboys fans are embarrassed after losing to Gardner Minshew and the Cardinals.

Smith-Njigba was the entire offense in the first half, accumulating 92 yards through the air while the rest of the offense managed only two, including his receiving touchdown. Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen made adjustments after the break that confined JSN to only 26 additional yards the rest of the way. Smith-Njigba now has seven 100-yard receiving games in eight appearances as he extended his league-leading yardage totals, clear and away the top overall wide receiver in fantasy circles. That position will not change ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Smith-Njigba overcame a sluggish first half to extend his stranglehold on the overall WR1 in fantasy circles with a dominant second half and overtime period. While the 51 pass attempts from Sam Darnold were highly uncharacteristic of this Seattle offense, a complete inability to run the football paired with a negative script to form the perfect environment for Smith-Njigba to set a season high in targets and receptions. Smith-Njigba has now gone over 100 yards in five of six appearances to start the 2026 regular season and is in a good spot to continue that dominance when the Seahawks host the Chiefs in Week 7, where he remains a top-tier WR1 in fantasy circles.

Smith-Njigba played through an ankle injury in Week 5 and was limited in practice this week before getting a full designation on Wednesday. Despite the short week ahead of a Thursday matchup against the Broncos, he is off the injury report and good to go. Smith-Njigba is once again a top-three wide receiver option for Week 6.

Smith-Njigba gets a second-straight “limited” practice designation. The Seahawks have technically not practiced yet this week but it is notably the 24-year-old receiver gets back-to-back limited designations. With a Thursday matchup against the Broncos on the horizon for Week 6, the Seahawks are leaving the door open for Smith-Njigba to play; he battled the ankle injury in Week 5 and the short week makes this a tougher evaluation. For now, we still expect Smith-Njigba to play against the Broncos on Thursday.

With the Seahawks preparing to face the Broncos on a short week, it would be a bit more concerning if JSN were listed as a DNP. The team listing him as limited on the first day of the week is encouraging after he clearly battled through an ankle injury in Week 5’s loss to the 49ers. Smith-Njigba still topped 100 receiving yards for the fourth time this season and made several big plays despite being in visible pain. We’ll continue to update his practice status throughout the week, but as long as he’s active come Thursday, JSN should be in your fantasy lineups.

JSN appeared to be playing through a bit of an ankle injury in this one, but he looked perfectly fine when he turned what would have been a short two-yard reception upfield for a 16-yard touchdown in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, as the Seahawks were attempting a comeback, JSN hauled in a 35-yard reception, evading multiple defenders to get the Seahawks to the 50-yard line. A few plays later, he would drop a wide-open pass that may have set the Seahawks up for a game-winning field goal opportunity, but JSN did his part to keep the Seahawks in what proved to be a sloppy game for the offense as a whole. He’s gone for 100-plus yards in four of his first five games of the season and will look for his fifth 100-yard game on Thursday night when the Seahawks visit the Broncos.

For the first time this year, Smith-Njigba was held out of the end zone. It was a quiet day fore the star wideout, but if 78 yards is your worst day (so far), well, you’ve had a pretty good season. JSN and fantasy managers will hope for a return to the end zone and a little more volume against the 49ers in Week 5.

Goodness gracious. Smith-Njigba did have a drop, but it was yet another dominant effort for the 24-year-old. His first touchdown saw him fake a fade route only to comeback to the pylon for an easy six, and then he and Sam Darnold connected for a second time on a pass over the middle in the end zone. That’s already six touchdowns in three games for the 24-year-old, and he’s reached the century mark in all three contests. On top of that, he also completed a 14-yard pass. Asking for this kind of red-zone production every week is tough, but he’s more than capable of these kind of fireworks. Obviously. JSN will be a WR1 and then some for Week 4 against the Chargers.

On the Seahawks’ second play from scrimmage, a Cardinals safety somehow failed to pick up Smith-Njigba, streaking down the right sideline, after he snuck right past CB Will Johnson. Seahawks QB Drew Lock noticed and fired a perfect pass to Smith-Njigba in stride, leading to the Seahawks’ wide receiver’s longest career gain. The rest of the day played out similarly, with Smith-Njigba routing up defenders right and left. He scored again on the Seahawks’ seventh drive, leaping past a diving cornerback to make the catch in the end zone. Lock linked up with him again for a third score in the back of the end zone, threading the ball past a linebacker in the end zone as Smith-Njigba broke left on a crosser, dusting Cardinals S Budda Baker.

Sam Darnold went down with a hip injury on the first drive of the night. It took Drew Lock a couple of drives to dial in on JSN, but it was business as usual once he did. No Seahawk saw more than three targets aside from Smith-Njigba. He finished the night with a monstrous 41.7 percent target share. His highlight of the night wa sa 45-yard catch-and-run for Seattle’s only touchdown of the game. Even if Darnold misses time, JSN’s role is so fantasy-friendly that he will remain well inside the WR1 ranks for his Week 2 date with the Cardinals.

AJ Barner caught 2-of-5 targets for 23 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Barner is far from fantasy consideration having only one game through eight appearances with more than a modest five targets while failing to notch a single receiving touchdown. Fantasy managers can safely return him to the waiver wire in all formats.

Tory Horton caught 3-of-6 targets for 26 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Horton took more massive hits than he had receptions in this one, with Sam Darnold placing him in harms way on more than one occasion. He was already fighting through nagging injuries entering the contest but gave it a go with Rashid Shaheed ruled out, with this game likely doing nothing to help him in that regard. Despite finishing second on the team in receiving behind alpha Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Horton is not a startable fantasy asset ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the division rival Cardinals.

Kupp was unable to take advantage of the absence of fellow receiver Rashid Shaheed but did cash in for his second touchdown of the season. Kupp’s days of consistent fantasy production are long behind him as the Seahawks head into a Week 9 divisional meeting against the Cardinals approaching must-win territory.

Zach Charbonnet rushed six times for 23 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding six yards on three receptions.

Charbonnet drew the start but saw four fewer opportunities than rookie Jadarian Price, the latter of whom led the team in rush yards and touches. Expect the two to continue operating in a near-even timeshare moving forward, leaving Charbonnet in shaky FLEX territory ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Jadarian Price rushed 10 times for 29 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding eight yards on two receptions.

It was Zach Charbonnet that drew the start for the Seahawks in his first game since tearing his ACL last year, but it was the talented rookie that led the team in opportunities. Price was making his first appearance since hitting injure reserve with a chest injury suffered in Week 2, and while he led the team in yardage and carries, George Holani remained involved in clear passing situations and Charbonnet is liable to see his role continue to grow with each healthy game. Price will be a shaky FLEX option in a better matchup against the Cardinals in Week 9.

Sam Darnold completed 17-of-34 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Seahawks’ 34-17, Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding 20 yards on two receptions.

Darnold really struggled through consistent pressure from Dennis Allen’s aggressive defensive front as the Seahawks gained just 252 yards of total offense. Things looked manageable in the first half while Darnold leans heavily on alpha wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, feeding his top option for 92 yards before the break. Allen’s second half adjustments all but removed JSN from the offense, holding him to just 26 yards after the break. Week 8 went down as only the third game of the 2026 season in which Darnold threw multiple touchdowns, leaving him outside QB2 range and on waiver wires ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Kalif Raymond caught 2-of-3 targets for 14 yards in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks, adding 39 yards on one carry.

Raymond’s lone “carry” came on a third-and-long in the fourth quarter in a three-point game, with the play ruled a rush attempt following a slightly backwards toss on a quick swing pass to the perimeter. Raymond did the rest as he turned on the jets for a 39-yard gain to the five, which D’Andre Swift would punch in for the second of his three rushing scores on the evening. Raymond remains unlikely to match his early-season exploits but can be stashed in case of injury to Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, or Colston Loveland.

Luther Burden caught 7-of-9 targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks.

Burden’s opening drive score was the first touchdown surrendered by the Seahawks on an opening possession in the previous 26 games, finishing tied with tight end Colston Loveland for the team lead in targets while catching the only passing score from quarterback Caleb Williams. He continues to operate as the team’s top option through the air in a role that is most malleable, which can either be concentrated on the short areas against zone or extended in the vertical against man. Burden is a WR2 in a pass-funnel matchup against the Buccaneers in Week 9.

Colston Loveland caught 7-of-9 targets for 65 yards in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks.

Five of Loveland’s nine targets came on the team’s first drive as the Bears scored the first opening possession touchdown against the Seahawks in the previous 26 games. He would largely disappear until key receptions in the fourth quarter to extend drives, finishing the game tied with Luther Burden for the team lead in targets and second on the team in yards behind Rome Odunze. Loveland has shaken off an extremely slow start to the 2026 regular season with three consecutive games of at least six receptions and 65 yards. He’ll be a middling TE1 against the pass-funnel Buccaneers in Week 9.
