NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Myles Garrett “was given a timeline of roughly six weeks for his recovery from knee surgery.”

Garrett attempted to play through the knee issue in Week 1 but was clearly bothered by the balky knee. He underwent a knee scope shortly after the Rams’ opener and was placed on injured reserve. It was initially expected to be closer to a four-week absence for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Now he’ll miss a bit longer than that, and Rapoport added that the team will be cautious with his return, so he could be sidelined beyond even the six-week timeline.
Monken: There's no better time to coach the Browns
Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken joins John Fanta and Jay Croucher on Fanta in 60 to talk how he's led the 2026 Browns to first in the AFC North through 6 weeks, why he returned to Cleveland and more.

Garrett went on injured reserve after Week 1 and is therefore eligible to have his 21-day practice window for activation off IR opened this week. However, McVay said the 30-year-old pass-rusher won’t have his window opened, indicating Garrett is not ready to practice yet and it will still be some time before we see him back on the field. His initial timeline after undergoing a knee scope was roughly six weeks. It’s been four weeks so far, but Garrett could still hit the six-week return timeline if his practice window is opened next week.

Garrett will miss at least four games after going on injured reserve. The All-Pro pass-rusher is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee after struggling to play through the injury in Week 1. Garrett’s absence is a massive blow to the Rams’ defense, but they should have enough players in place to get through what they hope is a short time away.
  • LA Outside Linebacker #95
According to Pelissero, Garrett had been dealing with lower leg pain and “wasn’t himself” in Week 1 against the 49ers. Garrett was routinely taken off the field and failed to record a single stat in the contest. Per Pelissero, the team hopes he will miss only a minimum of four weeks while on injured reserve. The impending return of Aaron Donald should help ease the loss of Garrett, but this is undoubtedly a massive blow to the Rams’ defense.
  • LA Outside Linebacker #95
Coming off an underwhelming debut in which he failed to even record a tackle in Week 1’s loss against the 49ers, Garrett said he was “the worst version” of himself in Thursday’s game. The star pass rusher was dealing with a knee injury in the days leading up to the game, but was ultimately removed from the injury report on Wednesday. Speaking after the game, he said his knee didn’t feel 100 percent, but Garrett still managed to play on 40 snaps, per PFF. Unfortunately, he generated only three pressures and failed to get a hit on the quarterback. Hopefully, some extended time off before next Monday’s game against the Giants will be enough for Garrett to get right in the Rams’ official 2026 home debut.

As expected, Garrett gets in a full practice ahead of the Rams’ Week 1 Australia matchup against the 49ers. He did not practice Tuesday but it was likely a load management day for the star pass-rusher’s knee. Expect more of these kinds of practice weeks from Garrett moving forward; he is good to go for Week 1.
  • LA Defensive End #95
Garrett was a non-participant in practice Tuesday, but it looks to be a load management day with other Rams players listed as DNP due to rest and head coach Sean McVay saying Tuesday he expects Garrett to play Week 1. Though the team will be without Aaron Donald for opening day, the Rams are still expecting to have Garrett good to go against the 49ers.
  • LA Defensive End #95
Heavily load-managed in the offseason, Garrett will enter his age-31 season fresh and ready to try to top last year’s 23-sack season in a new defense. We won’t be surprised if Garrett continues to be listed on the injury report going forward, but if he’s going to play through this there’s probably no need to be concerned about the report unless new concerns arise.
  • LA Defensive End #95
Garrett, 30, has been sidelined by swelling in his knee since late July. His return to practice puts him on track to play in Week 1 against the 49ers on Thursday. Donald’s status is tougher to decipher. The fact that he is practicing is a great sign, but the Rams could still slow-play his return to action. Rams coach Sean McVay said he will provide an update on their Week 1 statuses on Tuesday. Stay tuned.
  • LA Defensive End #95
Garrett continues to not practice while experiencing swelling in his knee. It sounds like this is more maintenance than anything else, as the Rams want the start pass-rusher to be ready to roll and at his best for the opener against the 49ers next week in Australia. Still, it’s something to keep an eye on.
  • LA Defensive End #95
Checking in on the star pass-rusher heading into the third preseason week, Garrett (knee) still has not practiced since early August. He is experiencing swelling in his knee and head coach Sean McVay continues to downplay his absence. It’s possible this is just veteran load management; we still expect Garrett to be ready for Week 1, though his absence is becoming more and more notable as the season inches closer.

Mike Evans (Achilles) limped to the locker room in the second quarter of Week 6 against the Commanders.

Evans came into the game with two injury designations, ribs and Achilles, ultimately suiting up. He limped to the locker room with the help of training staff and was seen in the tunnel pointing to his Achilles. The 33-year-old receiver has been on the injury report for much of the season, with the most recent ailment potentially proving to be too much to play through. Expect an update from the team after the half. Evans caught 3-of-5 targets for 94 yards prior to departing.

Terry McLaurin (knee) was carted to the locker room in the first quarter of Week 6 against the 49ers.

The mechanism of the injury did not look promising, with the veteran receiver buckling to the turf in non-contact fashion. It’s a devastating development for the 31-year-old receiver in what was the first game since Week 1 where Jayden Daniels, McLaurin, and Stefon Diggs were healthy together. Expect further updates from the team as the game progresses, but it certainly appears as if McLaurin’s season could be in jeopardy. McLaurin caught his only target for 27 yards prior to departing. Rookie Antonio Williams and Treylon Burks are the most likely fill-ins for the remainder of the game, and, potentially, the season.

The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo reports Steelers are expected to sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Say it ain’t so, a former Rodgers favorite set to rejoin him during his twilight tour. Valdes-Scantling is reportedly set to sign to the Pittsburgh practice squad and could work his way to the active roster considering the absence of Michael Pittman, the latter of whom was moved to injured reserve Saturday. There likely won’t be any fantasy value to speak of.

Mike Macdonald said Zach Charbonnet (knee) has a “good chance” to play in Week 7.

Finally, some good news for both Seahawks fans and fantasy managers, alike, after the Seattle run game has gotten off to a sluggish start to the 2026 season. Charbonnet has been on the physically unable to perform list through the first six weeks of the season but appears likely to make his return to the active roster for a marquee matchup against the Chiefs in a game some would consider a must-win for the suddenly reeling Seahawks. Macdonald added that the veteran back would get a full week of practice this week before any decision was made. Fantasy managers can add Charbonnet from waivers, if available.

Mike Evans (ribs, Achilles) is active for Week 6 against the Commanders.

Evans will gut it out in Week 6 as fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel is unable to go. Look for the bulk of the aerial offense to flow through Evans, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey, the three of whom handily led the team in route participation a week ago following Samuel’s departure. Inactive for the 49ers are QB Kurtis Rourke, DE Nick Bosa, WR Deebo Samuel, S Marques Sigle, LB Garret Wallow, OT Enrique Cruz Jr., and DT Naquan Jones.

Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is active for Week 6 against the 49ers.

Diggs returns from a one-game absence due a hamstring injury. Although possible he sees his route participation curtailed, fantasy managers that made it this far are likely forced to ride with the veteran receiver in a solid schematic matchup against the zone-heavy 49ers. Inactive for the Commanders are QB Marcus Mariota, CB Fabian Moreau, CB Isaac Yiadom, OLB T.J. Magunranyanga, G Tanoa Togiai, and DE Charles Omenihu.

Seahawks activated Anthony Bradford’s 21-day practice window.

Bradford was placed on injured reserve after Week 1, seeing his first step to a return processed with the activation of his 21-day practice window. Head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters Monday that the veteran guard has a “really good chance” to return for Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs in Week 7.

Packers signed DT Mazi Smith, formerly of the Dolphins.

Smith, a former first-round pick by the Cowboys in 2023, appeared in one game for the Dolphins earlier this season and has appeared in just nine games since 2025. The 25-year-old lineman has tallied 57 tackles and two sacks in his career and wouldn’t be asked to serve as anything more than added depth for the Packers if he were elevated to the 53-man roster.

Rams placed DL Kobie Turner (groin) on injured reserve.

It’s a tough injury for Turner, who is in the final year of his rookie contract and will miss at least four weeks. He’s been a mainstay of Los Angeles’ defense over his first three years with several high-hurry seasons and stellar run defense. The Rams interior defense has taken a big hit today.

Rams placed DT Poona Ford (biceps) on injured reserve.

It will end his season. Ford has been a find for the Rams the last two years as a premium run-stuffer. This injury will test their defensive line depth. The soon-to-be 31-year-old will be a release candidate after the season with an $11.08 million cap hit of which the Rams can save $9.25 million by cutting him.
