Bhayshul Tuten had 15 rushes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ Week 3 win against the Patriots, adding two catches for 17 yards.

Tuten has taken control of the Jaguars backfield over the past couple weeks. Against the Patriots he out-carried Chris Rodriguez 15 to eight, with much of Rodriguez’s opportunity coming after the game had been decided. Tuten split pass-catching duties with LeQuint Allen, who also had two grabs on the day. Tuten probably won’t be a 20-touch back most weeks, but he should be a solid RB2 option going forward, including in Week 4 against the Bengals.

Tuten continued to operate as the Jaguars’ lead back, ripping off a 15-yard carry to open the game. He found success running to the outside edges of the Bengals defense, tallying 91 total yards on the day. However, fantasy managers will be frustrated with the results as Tuten had touchdowns of 44 yards and three yards get called back due to holding penalties while Chris Rodriguez scored late in the game. The good news is Tuten out-snapped Rodriguez 36-to-15 on the day. He is still the lead back, though he cedes short-yardage and clear passing-down opportunities to Rodriguez and LeQuint Allen. Tuten gets enough opportunities to be squarely in the fantasy RB2 range on a weekly basis, he is a top-20 play for Week 5 against the Eagles in London.
  • JAC Running Back #24
Rodriguez remained the second option in the Jaguars backfield behind Bhayshul Tuten, but stole a short score from Tuten in the blowout victory. Through three games Rodriguez has been a between the tackles option who has next to no involvement in the passing game. He would only be fantasy viable if Tuten misses time this season. For now C-Rod is a decent stash as a contingency option.
  • JAC Running Back #33
Tuten more than doubled the workload of Chris Rodriguez, who had six rushes for 13 yards and did not record a reception. Tuten looked like the far more explosive backfield option for the Jags. He nearly broke a couple big runs and had one long carry called back on a penalty. Last week Tuten had 88 total yards against the Browns. The second-year back is looking more reliable as a fantasy option in what was regarded as a shaky situation ahead of the season. He should be seen as a top-24 play in Week 3 against the Patriots.
  • JAC Running Back #5
Allen played on just one offensive snap in last week’s win over the Browns, but led the Jaguars in third-down snaps (146) last season. Despite all the snaps he saw on third down as a rookie, Allen never materialized into a viable fantasy option. Whether or not that changes this season is to be determined, but any additional snaps he receives on third down would come at the expense of Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez, after Rodriguez led the way with five third-down snaps last week. While Allen seeing additional work in these situations could be problematic for fantasy managers, they shouldn’t let that deter them from starting Tuten in Week 2 against the Broncos.
  • JAC Running Back #33
Tuten started the game for the Jaguars, getting the first two carries of the game. His utilization was mixed, tying Chris Rodriguez for snaps in the first half. Tuten was rotated out for early red zone and short-yardage snaps, though he saw some of those opportunities later in the game. He held up well in pass-protection and took a screen pass 22 yards for his first reception. With the game out of hand in the second half, Tuten ultimately saw the highest snaps out of the backfield, tallying 28 on the day. He showed good burst and the ability to fight through contact, but Rodriguez will continue to be a thorn in his side for utilization. Tuten profiles as a high-end RB3 for Week 2 against the Broncos.
  • JAC Running Back #5
As expected, Allen did not practice Wednesday. It’s not that fantasy managers were eager to start Allen this week, but his absence would open up more routes and potential targets for Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez, who are listed as co-starters on Jacksonville’s Week 1 depth chart. Both C-Rod and Tuten would be slightly better options if Allen is sidelined this weekend.
  • JAC Running Back #33
Shipley hedges a bit by noting that there’s a chance that one back simply carries the momentum early in the season forward and never lets up, but ultimately falls on the idea that neither back is likely to hit 1,000 rushing yards in 2026. “I think there is a more likely chance we see both running backs hit 750+ yards than one of them hit 1,000,” Shipley writes. Such a split would probably lean towards Rodriguez at the goal line, making him slightly more fantasy-valuable on a weekly basis barring big plays from Tuten. If this prediction comes true, both backs might have trouble cracking the weekly RB2 ranks.

Coen talked up Ameer Abdullah as a potential replacement for Allen’s duties in pass protection. He also singled out Chris Rodriguez’s abilities in pass pro. Pass protection duties aren’t a direct source of fantasy value, but it usually means that player will be on the field for the two-minute drill, which can generate plenty of receptions for running backs. Bhayshul Tuten not getting those reps would be a notable ding to his fantasy outlook. Allen himself isn’t on the fantasy radar, healthy or not.
  • JAC Running Back #5
Allen suffered a soft tissue injury during Monday’s practice and the Jaguars announced Tuesday morning that he’ll miss the rest of training camp. It’s unclear if he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season. While Allen doesn’t have standalone fantasy value, he seemed destined for a legitimate role as the primary receiving back in this offense. If Allen misses time in the regular season, it would boost receiving opportunities for Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez.

Coen discussed both RB Bhayshul Tuten and RB Chris Rodriguez during his presser. Regarding Tuten, Coen said the second-year back has shown that he has “bought in” over the past year, and complimented his ability to take “hard coaching” while noting his 4.28-second 40 speed. Coen adds that Tuten has to continue working on making his reads and not overthinking things. Regarding Rodriguez, Coen complimented his recent downhill running and blitz pickups. Coen loves consistency at the running back position. This looks like it will be a committee to start the year. That said, if one player separates, things can change quickly. Tuten remains the high-upside pick, although Rodriguez can be productive in his own right.

John Metchie caught 3-of-5 targets for 37 yards in the Panthers’ Week 4 win over the Lions.

Metchie operated as the WR2 in the absence of both Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette but was unable to return any fantasy utility on a night second-year receiver Tetairoa McMillan set new career highs in both receptions and yardage. Fantasy managers that were coaxed into adding Metchie through the injuries in Carolina can safely return him to the waiver from whence he came.

Darren Waller caught 3-of-6 targets for 36 yards in the Panthers’ Week 4 win over the Lions.

Waller saw minimal involvement as quarterback Bryce Young leaned into his top option through the air, feeding Tetairoa McMillan 16 targets on 41 pass attempts in the absence of both Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette. Fantasy managers that scooped Waller off of waivers following his two-touchdown game in Week 2 are surely left disappointed in the recent returns, making Waller a potential drop candidate as the Panthers head to their bye.

Tetairoa McMillan caught 14-of-16 targets for 192 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers’ Week 4 win over the Lions.

McMillan set career highs in both receptions and yardage in the first half with nine catches for 147 yards before the break. He operated as the clear alpha in a pass attack without both Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette, routinely dusting everyone the Lions had at their disposal in an injury-ravaged secondary. While the receiving line surely turns heads, fantasy managers were left even more ecstatic about the way in which he was utilized, with the second-year receiver catching six passes for 94 yards and both touchdowns while aligned in the slot. Offensive coordinator Brad Idzik is providing structure, sequencing, and situational tendencies unlike anything fans had grown accustomed to when head coach Dave Canales was helming the offense, resulting in quarterback Bryce Young leading the league in passing while averaging more than 30 points per game through the first month of play. McMillan’s ceiling remains sky-high as a legitimate WR1 when the Panthers square off against the Eagles fin Week 6 following their bye.

Chuba Hubbard rushed 20 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers’ Week 4 win over the Lions, adding seven yards on one reception.

Hubbard’s successes on the ground allowed the Panthers to remain balanced on a night they were without two of their top three wide receivers due to the absences of Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette, cashing in on two scores from 15 and two yards out. Hubbard appears to be locked into an RB1 workload in the absence of Jonathan Brooks, who will be out for 6-8 weeks after undergoing core muscle surgery. His 26 opportunities dwarfed the six of current backup AJ Dillon, the latter of whom gained just seven total yards on six touches. Fantasy managers can start Hubbard with confidence when the team returns from their bye to face the Eagles in Week 6.

Bryce Young completed 29-of-41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers’ Week 4 win over the Lions, adding three yards on three carries.

The NFL’s passing leader through four weeks, pending Monday Night Football, took complete advantage of a defense still working to find their identity through the first month of play, leaning on his top option in Tetairoa McMillan throughout. Young now leads the league in passing and can only be caught by Tyler Shough on Monday Night Football, while only Kirk Cousins and Brock Purdy have more touchdown passes than Young’s nine. Even more impressive was the fact that he did what he did to the Lions without two of his top three receivers with both Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette out of action in Week 4. Young and the Panthers head to their Week 5 bye at 2-2 and alone atop the NFC South, soon to be joined by the winner on Monday night. He’ll be a legitimate QB1 when he returns to action against the Eagles in Week 6.

Sam LaPorta caught 8-of-13 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 4 loss to the Panthers.

LaPorta was the primary beneficiary against the single-high-heavy Panthers, which was interesting considering both of Carolina’s top two corners were absent from this game. The 13 targets were easily a season high for the veteran tight end, primarily the result of 52 Jared Goff pass attempts in what would become a negative game script. LaPorta routinely found space behind the linebackers as the primary outlet through pressure for Goff, and while it remains unlikely he repeats the lofty target totals, LaPorta’s red zone acumen keeps him a fantasy TE1 ahead of a very different matchup in the two-high-heavy Cardinals in Week 5.

Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 8-of-11 targets for 75 yards in the Lions’ Week 4 loss to the Panthers.

It was quite the disappointing outing for the fantasy darling considering the Panthers were without their top two corners, with opposing defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero dialing up consistent pressure that caused quarterback Jared Goff fits throughout the evening. Two of Goff’s incompletions that were directed at St. Brown were batted down at the line of scrimmage, ultimately enough to keep St. Brown out of the end zone for the first time this season. St. Brown remains a top-tier WR1 ahead of a potential shootout against the Cardinals in Week 5.

Jameson Williams caught 6-of-8 targets for 102 yards in the Lions’ Week 4 loss to the Panthers.

Fantasy managers had suffered through three down games with the middle-round pick before Williams was able to take advantage of a Carolina secondary missing its top two corners. He was kept out of the end zone for the fourth consecutive contest to start the 2026 season but returned his first fantasy-viable outing on the backs of 52 Jared Goff pass attempts. While that level of volume is unlikely to be the norm for the Lions, a Week 5 meeting with the Cardinals provides another opportunity for Williams to return value in a potential shootout. Williams will be an upside WR3.

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 15 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 4 loss to the Panthers, adding 31 yards on four receptions.

Gibbs had eclipsed 100 combined yards against all three opponents to start the season before the Panthers held him largely in check, with fantasy’s top asset cashing in on a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter to avoid a disastrous outing. The two teams were knotted at 16 entering the half but it was the Panthers that dictated terms following the break, winning the time of possession battle by over six minutes. Gibbs maintained an elite workload by seeing all but two backfield opportunities and every available carry on the evening, keeping his fantasy value sky-high ahead of a potential shootout against the Cardinals in Week 5.

Jared Goff completed 32-of-52 passes for 412 yards and one touchdown in the Lions’ 32-26, Week 4 loss to the Panthers.

Goff has now thrown a touchdown pass in 27 straight contests, a streak that started in the team’s Thanksgiving day contest against the Bears in 2024. He could move into sixth on the all-time list for consecutive games with a touchdown pass should he throw for at least one touchdown in each game this season. He came within four minutes of breaking that streak against the Panthers, needing a late touchdown to tight end Sam LaPorta to keep it alive in a game the Panthers dictated with their defense throughout. Goff also maintained his clean sheet of no interceptions thrown to start the season but it wasn’t enough to overcome a defense that ceded 445 yards of total offense to a Panthers team without two of their top three wide receivers in Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette. The Lions fall to 2-2, now two games behind the division-leading Vikings through the first month of play. Goff remains a surefire QB1 ahead of a potential shootout against the Cardinals in Week 5.
