Jovaughn Gwyn (fibula) to miss 2-3 months

To make matters worse for the Ravens, veteran Ethan Pocic, who replaced Gwyn in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, is also dealing with a long-term knee injury that he suffered in the same game. The Ravens are preparing 2026 first-round pick Vega Iaone to play center in Week 4’s game against the Titans, but could also look to add a center in the coming days if they deem it necessary to do so. This is just the latest blow to an offensive line that was already down at left tackle, with Ronnie Stanley currently nursing a toe injury. Stanley was unable to practice in the days leading up to the game against the Cowboys; we’ll see if he can get on the field in any capacity this week ahead of a matchup against the 0-3 Titans.

“On of them in the mix of the battle is coming off an injury. That timeline may or may not be perfect for that first game,” Minter relayed via the team’s website Monday. Recent signee Ethan Pocic is coming off a torn Achilles in Week 14 of the 2025 season but possesses the most starting experience of the players battling to supplant longtime starter Tyler Linderbaum following his departure in free agency. Minter’s comments, while slightly vague, seem to point towards Pocic as the desired starter, assuming his injury recovery continues to progress without hiccup. Fellow free agent additions Danny Pinter and Jovaughn Gwyn will compete with Pocic for the starting role.

Ioane gets a fully guaranteed $24.2 million deal with a $14.1 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. Ioane is expected to start in year one. He primarily played left guard at Penn State, but should be able to line up at right guard, if need be. Vega (6'4/320) earned an 87.0 PFF pass-blocking grade and a 78.6 PFF run-blocking grade last year.

Ioane (6’4/320) is a powerful interior blocker who delivered one of the cleanest pass-protection seasons among Big Ten linemen in 2025. The 6-4, 328-pound guard allowed zero sacks and just a 0.7 percent pressure rate across 294 pass-blocking snaps, posting a 99.7 percent pass-block efficiency and an outstanding 87.1 PFF pass-blocking grade while committing only one penalty. Ioane also logged 306 run-blocking snaps with a 78.6 PFF run-block grade, finishing the year with only a 1.6 percent blown-block rate on run plays, illustrating his consistent execution in Penn State’s physical rushing attack. Built like a prototypical power-scheme guard, Ioane wins with thick limbs, core strength and excellent contact balance, using strong hands and hip roll to generate displacement on base blocks and double teams. His firm punch and sturdy anchor allow him to absorb power rushers effectively, while his vice-like grip strength helps him stay connected through the rep. With elite pass-protection acumen and the most complete resume of any interior lineman in the class, Ioane projects as a high-floor guard who can step into a starting role on day one.

Gwynn is following his former offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford to Baltimore. He spent the first three years of his career in Atlanta. Gwynn only took the field for 11 offensive snaps in 2025, but he was active for all 17 games and saw some run on special teams. He will be a depth option for the Ravens.

Gwyn (6’2/300) was a 4-star recruit, and the 15th-ranked offensive guard in the 2018 recruiting class, from Charlotte, North Carolina. You may be asking why a prospect who has 47 starts at right guard in the SEC is listed as a center. Gwyn likely just doesn’t have the size or length to survive at guard in the NFL. Measuring just under 6’2” with sub-32” arms and sub-10” hands doesn’t exactly point to a quick transition at the next level. However, he demonstrates phenomenal strength that went along with the South Carolina brand of notable athletes. Thanks to his lack of height, he is rarely out-leveraged and has the advantage when trying to forklift defensive linemen. Even when compared to powerful guards, Gwyn had a 95th percentile bench press number at the Combine. He likely has a ceiling akin to Nick Martin.
