The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander reports that Nico Collins (hamstring) was “optimistic” about playing in Week 4 against the Cowboys.

Alexander caught up with Collins after the Texans’ star player logged his second consecutive limited practice. Collins should probably still be treated as sitting somewhere in the questionable-to-probable range, but this is great to hear. Collins is a WR1, as usual, if active.
Defense costs Cowboys again vs. UDFA QB Daniels
Dan Patrick recaps the TNF action that saw the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys in Arlington, where the offense sputtered and shoddy defense cost the home team once again while facing UDFA rookie QB Jalon Daniels.

He immediately busted out of the gates with a 45-yarder, caught a touchdown to end that drive, then found the end zone a second time in the second half when he worked to the other side of zone coverage and C.J. Stroud was able to find him on an improvised throw. Pretty good player. Collins handled 36-of-53 snaps, highest on the team. He’ll be a low-end WR1 against the Titans in Week 5.

He got in a full session and will escape the line. Collins doesn’t play the same amount of snaps that most of the league’s top wideouts play anyway, so even if he is managed a bit, he can be trusted as a low-end WR1 in what looks to be a smash spot against a bad Cowboys pass defense, though one that is integrating new trade acquisition Joey Porter Jr. against Collins.

We’re still waiting for the final injury report to drop, but Collins appears set to return in Week 4 after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. Collins was listed as limited in Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices and has been trending in the right direction all week. We’ll check back in when the Texans officially confirm Collins’ status ahead of the weekend.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Another limited session keeps Collins in the questionable column as he attempts to return from a multi-week hamstring strain. The Texans would surely like to have their star wide receiver back for what could be a back-and-forth game environment against the Cowboys this week, but balancing short-term and long-term needs is critical. Stay tuned.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Collins had a “decent chance” to return in Week 4. Even a limited practice today is a big step in the right direction. The winless Texans desperately need a playmaker on offense and Collins is their only option. While he could be on a pitch count in his first game back, Collins has to be in fantasy lineups the moment he is cleared to play.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Collins injured his hamstring in practice last week and has already been ruled out for the second game in a row. He did not practice this week, so the Texans’ first injury report of Week 4 will be telling. Dalton Schultz will continue to vacuum up targets in the meantime. He saw 14 targets last week and caught 12 of them for 140 yards.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Collins will miss his second consecutive game with yet another hamstring strain. Last week, the passing offense ran through TE Dalton Schultz, who earned 13 targets. Fellow Texans WR Xavier Hutchinson was next with eight targets, but he caught just three, making for a shaky FLEX option this week.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
After missing the first two sessions of the week, we fully expect Collins to be ruled out on tomorrow’s run of the injury report. No receiver caught more than three passes with Collins sidelined for Week 2. Dalton Schultz, on the other hand, exploded for 140 yards on 12 grabs and an absurd 14 targets. He is firmly in the TE1 ranks for Week 3 versus the Colts.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Collins suffered a grade one hamstring strain during practice last week and did not play in Houston’s game against the Bengals. He could return to practice later in today’s session, but this looks like another DNP, putting him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 3. Dalton Schultz racked up a dozen catches for 140 yards without Collins in Week 2. He is in line for another TE1 ranking if Collins remains out this week.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reports that a source familiar with the situation has already said the expectation is that Collins will not play in Week 3 against the Colts. We’ll see how he progresses throughout the week when the team releases its first injury report on Wednesday. If Collins is unable to play, the Texans will likely be looking at having Xavier Hutchinson, Kayshon Boutte, and Jaylin Noel as their top three receivers next week.

Bears CB Kyler Gordon (calf) is questionable to play in Week 5 against the Packers.

Gordon practiced in full all week, so he is seemingly ready to play. The Bears could give it another week, though. Bears LB Noah Sewell (Achilles) and EDGE Shemar Stewart (knee) are also questionable this week. Both players practiced in full over the last two days and are likewise returning from the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bears QB Tyson Bagent will “most likely” start in Week 5 against the Packers.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity today, and the Bears ended up listing him as questionable to play. Consider him highly questionable. Rushing their star quarterback back onto the field when Bagent and Case Keenum have both played well is unnecessary. Regardless, keep an eye on this situation.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 5 against the Packers.

Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters on Monday that Tyson Bagent will start against the Packers this week. Fast forward a few days and the odds have changed slightly. Williams did a little throwing, practicing in a limited capacity today, and is progressing through his rehab plan. That said, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bagent will “most likely” get the start. We expect that to be the case. Regardless, make sure Williams is rostered in 12-team formats.

49ers EDGE Nick Bosa (calf) said it is “pretty darn likely” he plays in Week 6 against the Falcons.

Bosa has missed two games since injuring his left calf in pre-practice warmups. He will miss his third game this weekend, but apparently the rehab progress is going well. The 49ers go on by in Week 8, and the team initially considered shutting him down until Week 9. Things are currently progressing well for the veteran pass rusher, though.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said LT Tyler Guyton’s back injury is not considered serious.

This is good news. Guyton was replaced by OT Broderick Jones for the Cowboys’ final possession in Week 5 against the Buccaneers. Guyton and the rest of the Cowboys have an extended time off to rest and rehab their injuries after playing on Thursday night.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Jayden Daniels (elbow) is “not 100 percent” healthy yet.

Rapoport, typically cheery on the injury front, said that there are still “a lot of questions, going forward, for Jayden Daniels.” The bottom line is that Daniels is still rehabbing the elbow in his non-throwing arm. He should be able to throw and run effectively, putting him squarely in the QB1 tier, but re-injury risk remains a factor.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Justin Jefferson (ankle) plans to play in Week 5 against the Saints, but the team “has to see how he feels on Saturday.”

This is great news. We will not have to wait for the dreaded game-time decision call with Jefferson this time around. If active, Jefferson should be started as a WR1 against the Saints. He remained limited in practice all week. We will provide an update on the matter as soon as possible.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Terry McLaurin (hamstring) will “most likely” be a game-time decision for Week 5 against the Giants.

Keep it locked to Rotoworld, folks. Hopefully, we get word on McLaurin’s status on Saturday, but it appears as though we may have to wait until Sunday morning. Fowler adds that rookie WR Antonio Williams “could be a factor in the passing game regardless of whether McLaurin plays.”

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Seattle’s Week 6 Thursday Night Football game against the Broncos makes Zach Charbonnet’s (knee) ramp-up “tricky.”

Charbonnet is on schedule in his rehab program and “will be ready to ramp up his work next week.” Unfortunately, the Seahawks will have scaled-down practices as they prepare for their Thursday Night Football game. It sounds like Charbonnet is close to returning, but team doctors might want to see how his knee responds to a full week or practicing before clearing him. A condensed practice week indeed makes that tricky. Stay tuned.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Ravens “do not know” whether Lamar Jackson (ankle) will play in Week 6 against the Browns.

Earlier this week, Rapoport said Jackson had an “outside chance” of suiting up in Week 5 against the Falcons, but it sounds like the situation is a little more fluid than expected. With Tyler Huntley under center, the Ravens’ pass-catching corps takes a small hit, though Zay Flowers remains a must-start.
