Stefon Diggs caught 5-of-9 targets for 35 yards in the Commanders’ Week 4 loss to the Colts.

Diggs was the Commanders’ No. 1 receiver with Terry McLaurin out. That was good for a 24 percent target share and a handful of PPR points, but not much else. Marcus Mariota went down on the second drive and Athan Kaliakmanis took his place for the remainder of the game. Kaliakmanis made a few big throws but the offense struggled on the whole. Diggs could be in line for a big boost in fantasy production if Jayden Daniels is back next week, but McLaurin could just as easily return and take back his WR1 role. Diggs’ Week 5 fantasy outlook could swing wildly depending on how those injuries shake out this week.
NFL could 'deconstruct' Sunday Ticket by 2030
Mike Florio discusses the future of NFL broadcasting on the heels of a report that the league could do away with Sunday Ticket, the subscription service allowing fans to watch every out-of-market game, by 2030.

Diggs didn’t catch any passes in the first half on his three targets, but “bounced back” in the final two quarters to turn a disaster of a game into a middling one. The wideout was able to score two touchdowns in Week 2 against Dallas, but was closer to non-factor than threat against a tougher Seattle defense. He’ll look to rebound and find the end zone again as the second option behind Terry McLaurin against the Colts in London in Week 4.

Diggs’ six targets were tied for the second-most on the Commanders in Sunday’s loss. Diggs was responsible for both of his team’s touchdowns, with his first coming on a four-yard pass in the end zone from Jayden Daniels, who exited at the end of the second quarter with what has now been diagnosed as a dislocated elbow. In the fourth quarter, Diggs connected with Marcus Mariota for a leaping 20-yard score to cut the Cowboys’ lead to 30-20, but that would be the closest Washington would get to any hopes of a comeback. Diggs has now scored in each of his first two games with the Commanders but will be hard to trust as anything more than a WR3/WR4 against a stout Seahawks defense next week.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #3
Diggs’ nine targets led all Commanders players, while his 55 receiving yards were second to rookie Antonio Williams. He had two crucial drops earlier in the game, but Diggs (somewhat) made up for them when he hauled in a 10-yard receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Commanders were attempting to draw even with the Eagles. Unfortunately, a careless unsportsmanlike penalty by Diggs after the touchdown moved the Commanders out of position to consider going for a two-point conversion while trailing 17-15, instead forcing them to go for a long 47-yard PAT. Diggs’ nine targets were an encouraging sign for him in his Commanders debut, but it’s worth noting that Terry McLaurin saw only four targets after being bottled up for most of the day. That said, Diggs has commanded targets wherever he plays, and could have some value as a WR3 in next week’s game against the Titans.

In addition to Daniels, the Commanders are also expected to play Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, giving us the first look at the team’s revamped passing game under new offensive coordinator David Blough, with most of its starters on the field. We wouldn’t expect Daniels and company to play more than a series or two, but this will be Daniels’ first game since Week 14 of last season.

Breer adds that third-year Commanders WR Luke McCaffrey has “taken another step.” Perhaps this receiving corps is slightly better than one may have thought a few months ago. Both players are behind WR Terry McLaurin and WR Stefon Diggs, who has “immediately stepped into a leadership role” on his new team, but receiving depth is a plus for QB Jayden Daniels.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter later added that the deal is worth “up to” $12 million over one year. Diggs has been tied to the Commanders by local and national reporters for weeks. After seeing their lack of receiving weapons in training camp for a few days, GM Adam Peters finally pulled the trigger. Diggs will immediately slot in as the team’s No. 2 receiver, ahead of Antonio Williams and a cast of uninteresting veterans. The Pats limited Diggs to a 68 percent route rate last year, but he still managed to hit 1,000 yards via impressive efficiency marks. With Terry McLaurin operating as the Commanders’ No. 1 receiver, Diggs is unlikely to hit four digits again, but he should still offer fantasy managers usable FLEX numbers on a weekly basis.

Perhaps more notable is that Keim pointed out “other free agents don’t appear to be on their radar,” with Brandon Aiyuk presumably the “other” in this scenario. Diggs has long been linked to the Commanders as a potential fit, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported last week that “Washington is intriguing” to Diggs, so there’s a good chance some mutual interest exists. The Commanders’ receiver room is headlined by Terry McLaurin, but behind him is an unproven group in Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown, and rookie Antonio Williams. It feels like only a matter of time before the Commanders eventually make a move to upgrade their receiving corps, and Diggs would provide a solid option opposite McLaurin after going for 85-1,013-4 with the Patriots last season.

The opportunity to play with Jayden Daniels and spend a season playing in front of his hometown could be enough to entice Diggs, a DMV native, to join the Commanders. There are reportedly four other teams that have also expressed interest in the 32-year-old receiver, but a signing does not appear imminent at this time. Diggs is nearly two years removed from the torn ACL that ended his 2024 season, and he still managed to post an 85-1,013-4 line in his lone season with the Patriots while appearing on just 55 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. We would expect the veteran receiver to find a new home sooner than later, especially with all teams set to being training camp later this week.
  • FA Wide Receiver #8
Fowler said a team could sign Diggs ahead of training camp, but didn’t do us the courtesy of naming any of those teams beyond the Commanders. He also pointed at the Ravens as a team that attacks late free agency often. Diggs is one of several unsigned receivers still waiting for a home as we near the start of training camp, and there’s a belief in his camp that he’ll be even better this year now that he’s shed a snap count he was on while managing 2024’s torn ACL recovery.
  • FA Wide Receiver #8
Per Warren, “the Raiders have a lot more confidence in their wide receiver group than those on the outside looking in,” and that should give Jalen Nailor and Tre Tucker a little bit more juice as late-round best ball picks. We’re having a really hard time forecasting where Diggs will land after his respectable 85/1,013/4 receiving line last year off a torn ACL. The Commanders seem to be waiting on Brandon Aiyuk, and only the Ravens and Chiefs have really been mentioned of late as a reasonable landing spot for the veteran wideout.

Rome Odunze caught 6-of-7 targets for 94 yards in the Bears’ Week 4 win against the Jets.

Tyson Bagent, making his first NFL start, locked on to his boundary wideout in the first half, hitting Odunze for a couple long gains, including a nicely-placed 37 yarder. Odunze was second on the team in targets behind Colston Loveland, who saw nine looks on the day. Odunze is leading the Bears offense in air yards and profiles as a high-variance weekly fantasy option in an offense that leans toward the run. Odunze will be a solid flex option in Week 5 against a Green Bay secondary that struggles against boundary receivers.

David Montgomery rushed 10 times for 24 yards in Houston’s Week 4 loss against the Cowboys, adding zero receptions for 19 receiving yards on zero targets. Yes, really.

The hook-and-ladder claims another box score. The Texans simply can’t run the ball. Woody Marks is a little faster at making something out of nothing, but it’s the same nothing for him. Montgomery should at least have game pace in his favor against the Titans in Week 5, but boy is it hard to trust him as more than a FLEX play right now.

TreVeyon Henderson rushed 14 times for 42 yards in a Week 4 win over the Bills.

Henderson operated as the backup to Rhamodre Stevenson, playing on 25 of the team’s 70 snaps, compared to 49 for Stevenson, and seeing 14 runs to Stevenson’s 13. Stevenson also ran a route on 20 of the team’s 43 dropbacks, compared to 12 for Henderson. Henderson did show off his speed on an 11-yard run, his long of the day, when it seemed like the Bills had him dead to rights on a reverse, but he was able to beat safety Cole Bishop to the edge and turn it upfield. It also seemed like Stevenson hurt his knee on the final drive of the game, so Henderson could be in for a much bigger role if his backfield mate were to miss any time.

C.J. Stroud completed 21-of-31 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns in Houston’s 34-30, Week 4 loss to the Cowboys.

Well, hard to blame much of this on him. Stroud was turnover-free for the third time in four games and peppered the returning Nico Collins with targets while also finding a 52-yarder to Jaylin Noel and several chunk gains to the tertiary receivers. The Texans had a 30-27 lead at the two-minute warning. For once, the defense gets to pick up the slack. The Texans have the mother of all get-right games in an 0-4 bowl against the Titans next week. Given how poorly the run offense is going, Stroud may continue to let it rip here and could be on the high-end QB2 line.

Jalon Daniels completed 19-of-27 passes for 148 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Bucs’ 17-14, Week 4 loss to the Packers.

Daniels added 55 yards on the ground. It was a long day for the UDFA rookie. The Bucs had five drives in the first half. They went three-and-out twice. Daniels was intercepted twice. And Sean Tucker punched in a short score. Daniels started to find his rhythm in the second half and tossed his first career touchdown to Kenneth Gainwell on an impressive scramble drill. In the end, the Packers dialed up the blitz and forced a near-interception on fourth down to get the ball back inside the two-minute warning. Daniels’ rushing will keep him in the QB2 mix for Week 5 versus the Cowboys, but he will need to play better to keep the job beyond that game.

Jake Ferguson caught 3-of-4 targets for 11 yards in Dallas’ Week 4 win over the Texans.

He was chipping a bunch against Texans’ EDGE tandem, so the line isn’t super surprising. He did manage a key fourth-down catch on Dallas’ go-ahead final drive of the game. He’ll look to regain his low-end TE1 juice next week against the Buccaneers.

Rhamondre Stevenson rushed 13 times for 47 yards and a touchdown in a Week 4 win over the Bills, adding 27 yards receiving on 3-of-5 targets.

Stevenson also hauled in a crucial two-point conversion catch on the late fourth-quarter drive that gave the Patriots the lead. Stevenson didn’t have any huge gains on the day, but he consistently gained yardage through the middle of the Bills’ defense and was the clear top option in the red zone. However, when the Patriots were trying to run out the clock, Stevenson got hit at the line of scrimmage and limped off the field with a knee injury. The game ended just two plays later, so this will have to be a situation fantasy managers monitor during the week.

Ryan Flournoy caught 4-of-5 targets for 37 yards in Dallas’ Week 4 win over the Texans.

Flournoy has been held to exactly 22 or 23 yards in each of his first three games of the season, but the trend of Dallas passing more is pretty good for him. He’s got 21 targets over his last three games. It’s not anything beyond FLEX production yet but Thursday night games can be weird and that’s where Dallas will be next week against the Buccaneers.

Braelon Allen had 14 rushes for 59 yards in the Jets’ Week 4 loss to the Bears, adding two catches for eight yards.

Allen accounted for every running back rushing attempt for New York with Breece Hall (quad) sidelined. He also ran a route on 14 of the team’s 19 drop backs on a low-volume day for the Jets offense. It’s fantastic usage, even if it didn’t amount to much in the lopsided affair. Allen should remain in lineups next week against the Browns if Hall remains out. His pass game involvement could give Allen plenty of weekly upside for now.
