Carnell Tate (back) was added to the injury report on Thursday.

Tate was limited today, suggesting he suffered a back injury in practice. That is not good. He, of course, still has a chance to play, but we will have to monitor this situation closely. For now, Tate must be viewed as questionable to play in Week 5 against the Texans.
Defense costs Cowboys again vs. UDFA QB Daniels
Dan Patrick recaps the TNF action that saw the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys in Arlington, where the offense sputtered and shoddy defense cost the home team once again while facing UDFA rookie QB Jalon Daniels.

He was officially listed as questionable with two limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Tate popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a back injury, but Titans coach Robert Saleh said it was just some random tightness that isn’t expected to slow him in Week 5. Tate has seen 21 targets over the last two weeks and has posted a 15-203-0 line over that span. He has some solid WR3/FLEX appeal against a Texans defense that has struggled against the pass early in the season.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #14
Tate was targeted early and often in this one. The rookie first-rounder would lead the Titans in targets and found himself at the end of multiple big plays. Tate’s first reception resulted in a 22-yard gain, and he later popped up for a 35-yard catch in the second quarter, only to lose a fumble on the play moments later. Tate hauled in a clutch 33-yard reception on a fourth-and-10 play late in the fourth quarter as the Titans tried to mount a comeback, setting up a three-yard touchdown pass to Wan’Dale Robinson on the next play. Tate has been targeted 21 times over the last two weeks and will be a risky WR3/WR4 against the Texans in Week 5.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #14
The first-round rookie posted new high-water marks in every receiving category, though he did so while seeing fewer targets than Wan’Dale Robinson. Tate got going with a few chunk plays late in the game, setting up a Robinson touchdown and another scoring opportunity that was squandered by Cam Ward. Tate might be making incremental progress with this box score, but he’s still at the fringes of the WR4 discussion for Week 4 against the Ravens.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #14
Tate led the Titans’ receiver corps in snaps, catches and targets, but both Elic Ayomanor and Calvin Ridley churned up more yardage. No one had a useful day in fantasy football. Tate’s usage has been excellent through his first two NFL contests, but this severely-limited offense is predictably limiting his fantasy upside. He’s a WR4 heading into next week’s Giants road trip.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #14
Tate tied for the team lead in receiving yards, but as you can see, that amounted to 38 in this dismal Titans attack. He also tied for the team lead in targets, though Wan’Dale Robinson edged him 5-4 in receptions. Today was an extremely ominous Cam Ward performance against a far-from-stellar Jets defense, but there is nothing to quibble with in Tate’s usage. He was out there for 44-of-50 snaps and had healthy “shares” of everything from targets to air yards. Now we just need to see if Ward can get his career on track in Year 2 before we commit to Tate as a WR3. The Eagles are a rough Week 2 matchup.

This is, to be a broken record, probably not much to be concerned about just yet. The 21-year-old Tate is in a weird spot as a clear high-volume target on a passing offense that has not looked good all preseason and probably should be eyed skeptically heading into 2026. Nevertheless, Tate has the goods to be a fantasy producer this year if the offense around him is good enough to let that happen.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #14
Wyatt notes that Tate “had been quiet in recent practices, and he still doesn’t have a catch in two preseason games.” Today’s standout showing comes at the right time. The end of the preseason is fast approaching and the first-round rookie will be asked to contribute right away this season, especially with WR Wan’Dale Robinson currently undergoing evaluation for a concussion. The Titans’ offense is still a work in progress, so producing as a WR3 could be Tate’s ceiling for quite some time. Still, today’s report is nice to read.

FOX Sports’ Ben Arthur reported earlier that Bears DB Xavier Woods “laid out Wan’Dale Robinson over the middle of the field” during today’s joint practice, which “justifiably” prompted a response from the Titans’ sideline. Titans coach Robert Saleh called the hit “cheap.” The NFL reviews practice footage when available. We’ll see if anything comes of it. Losing Robinson for Week 1 would be consequential for QB Cam Ward, and would likely shift more work toward rookie WR Carnell Tate.

Cam Ward’s preseason has been as bad or even worse than his rookie campaign. Ward in last week’s preseason game against Seattle completed eight of his 12 attempts for 69 yards. His average depth of target on completed passes this preseason sits at a meager 1.2. Carnell Tate, meanwhile, has been targeted five times on his 23 preseason routes and does not have a reception to show for it. Daboll has been somewhat defensive this month when asked about Ward’s immense struggles after working on basic fundamentals with the second-year QB in the offseason. Ward, one of the most inaccurate passers in recent NFL history, is unlikely to support more than one fantasy-viable pass catcher in 2026.

Tate reportedly took a hard hit during Monday’s practice and missed a few days of practice as a result. The rookie receiver is now back on the field and should have a chance to suit up for the Titans’ second preseason game, which is set for Sunday against the Seahawks. Tate did not catch any of his three targets in last week’s preseason outing against the 49ers.

Bears CB Kyler Gordon (calf) is questionable to play in Week 5 against the Packers.

Gordon practiced in full all week, so he is seemingly ready to play. The Bears could give it another week, though. Bears LB Noah Sewell (Achilles) and EDGE Shemar Stewart (knee) are also questionable this week. Both players practiced in full over the last two days and are likewise returning from the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bears QB Tyson Bagent will “most likely” start in Week 5 against the Packers.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity today, and the Bears ended up listing him as questionable to play. Consider him highly questionable. Rushing their star quarterback back onto the field when Bagent and Case Keenum have both played well is unnecessary. Regardless, keep an eye on this situation.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 5 against the Packers.

Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters on Monday that Tyson Bagent will start against the Packers this week. Fast forward a few days and the odds have changed slightly. Williams did a little throwing, practicing in a limited capacity today, and is progressing through his rehab plan. That said, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bagent will “most likely” get the start. We expect that to be the case. Regardless, make sure Williams is rostered in 12-team formats.

49ers EDGE Nick Bosa (calf) said it is “pretty darn likely” he plays in Week 6 against the Falcons.

Bosa has missed two games since injuring his left calf in pre-practice warmups. He will miss his third game this weekend, but apparently the rehab progress is going well. The 49ers go on by in Week 8, and the team initially considered shutting him down until Week 9. Things are currently progressing well for the veteran pass rusher, though.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said LT Tyler Guyton’s back injury is not considered serious.

This is good news. Guyton was replaced by OT Broderick Jones for the Cowboys’ final possession in Week 5 against the Buccaneers. Guyton and the rest of the Cowboys have an extended time off to rest and rehab their injuries after playing on Thursday night.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Jayden Daniels (elbow) is “not 100 percent” healthy yet.

Rapoport, typically cheery on the injury front, said that there are still “a lot of questions, going forward, for Jayden Daniels.” The bottom line is that Daniels is still rehabbing the elbow in his non-throwing arm. He should be able to throw and run effectively, putting him squarely in the QB1 tier, but re-injury risk remains a factor.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Justin Jefferson (ankle) plans to play in Week 5 against the Saints, but the team “has to see how he feels on Saturday.”

This is great news. We will not have to wait for the dreaded game-time decision call with Jefferson this time around. If active, Jefferson should be started as a WR1 against the Saints. He remained limited in practice all week. We will provide an update on the matter as soon as possible.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Terry McLaurin (hamstring) will “most likely” be a game-time decision for Week 5 against the Giants.

Keep it locked to Rotoworld, folks. Hopefully, we get word on McLaurin’s status on Saturday, but it appears as though we may have to wait until Sunday morning. Fowler adds that rookie WR Antonio Williams “could be a factor in the passing game regardless of whether McLaurin plays.”

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Seattle’s Week 6 Thursday Night Football game against the Broncos makes Zach Charbonnet’s (knee) ramp-up “tricky.”

Charbonnet is on schedule in his rehab program and “will be ready to ramp up his work next week.” Unfortunately, the Seahawks will have scaled-down practices as they prepare for their Thursday Night Football game. It sounds like Charbonnet is close to returning, but team doctors might want to see how his knee responds to a full week or practicing before clearing him. A condensed practice week indeed makes that tricky. Stay tuned.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Ravens “do not know” whether Lamar Jackson (ankle) will play in Week 6 against the Browns.

Earlier this week, Rapoport said Jackson had an “outside chance” of suiting up in Week 5 against the Falcons, but it sounds like the situation is a little more fluid than expected. With Tyler Huntley under center, the Ravens’ pass-catching corps takes a small hit, though Zay Flowers remains a must-start.
