Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) was seen practicing on Friday.

Chase still needs to clear concussion protocol if he hopes to suit up for Week 5’s game against the Dolphins. That said, he appears to be trending toward being able to play after logging back-to-back practices to close out the week. Tee Higgins (groin/neck), who was a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday was also seen sprinting and running routes on Friday, which suggests he could also be good to go for Sunday’s game. We will check back in with official game day statuses in the coming hours when the team releases its final injury report.

Higgins saw just four targets against the Dolphins after seeing 16 targets in Week 4. The adductor/neck injuries didn’t limit his playing time as much, seeing 45 snaps on the day, No. 2 among Bengals receivers. With Ja’Marr Chase back on the field, Higgins’ target volume decreased considerably and he totaled just 22 yards in a more run-favorable game script. Despite the dud, Higgins still belongs in the WR2 ranks and gets a mediocre Ravens defense in Week 7 after a Week 6 bye.

Chase returned from a concussion he suffered last week, seeing 10 targets in a productive fantasy day. He saw a goal-line fade target on the Bengals’ first drive and was later tackled at the one-yard line towards the end of the first half. Joe Burrow missed Chase for a 70-yard touchdown in the second half but Chase made a miraculous catch with his right arm for a 45-yard touchdown later in the half. He finishes with a successful fantasy day and is squarely in the WR1 ranks heading into the Bengals’ Week 6 bye.

Higgins suffered an adductor injury in Week 4 against the Jaguars and was a full practice participant Friday after DNPs the two days before. Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) both declared active. Though NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports he will play mostly “meaningful plays”, Higgins is in the WR2 ranks while Chase is back in the WR1 ranks this week. The Bengals declared S Kyle Dugger, C Connor Lew, OT Myles Hinton, TE Jack Endries, WR Colbie Young, and DT Landon Robinson inactive for Week 5 against the Dolphins.

Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) will also play. Higgins is likely suiting up at less than full strength, but fantasy managers have to keep him in their lineups versus a Miami defense that is giving up explosive passing plays at the second-highest rate in the league this year. He will be a boom/bust WR2 for Week 5.

Chase cleared the league’s concussion protocol over the weekend. With Tee Higgins (neck/groin) also expected to play, it’s business as usual for the Bengals this week. Higgins could be on a pitch count, while Chase won’t have any restrictions. Facing a pitiful Miami defense, Chase is in the running for WR1 overall this week.

He did fully practice today — it feels like this is trending in the right direction, but it’s hard to know without detailed reporting of where he is in the protocol how likely he is to sit. We’re sure there will be many more report on Chase over the next 24-36 hours. He enters the weekend a true question mark.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Higgins missed the first two practices of the week but practiced in full on Friday. We would consider him to be truly questionable given his one day of practice, meaning fantasy managers will want to check his official game status when the team announces inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. If he can’t go, Dohnte Meyers, who saw nine targets last week, could be on the fantasy radar as a WR4 in deeper leagues.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Higgins is sporting a T-shirt and shorts at today’s practice. We expect to see him listed as a non-participant at the end of the day. Consecutive absences put him on the wrong side of questionable for the Bengals’ Week 5 game against the Dolphins, though he still has at least a small chance of turning things around tomorrow. Stay tuned.

It looks like Chase will practice in some capacity today. He made the long walk to the Bengals’ practice field, fully suited up in pads, carrying his helmet. Given the NFL’s five-phase concussion protocol, we expect to see him listed as a limited participant today, but we will provide an update if he upgrades to full participation. Chase has a chance to play in Week 5 against the Dolphins.

Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters before practice that Higgins would be listed as limited. Not only did he not practice, but the team listed him with a neck injury on top of his adductor issue. He went down with the adductor injury late in Cincy’s Week 4 loss to the Jags. It’s unclear when the neck issue cropped up. With multiple injuries holding him out of practice, Higgins looks unlikely to play in Week 5. With Ja’Marr Chase potentially out as well, Dohnte Meyers could be Joe Burrow No. 1 receiver this week. He should be added in all fantasy formats.

Bhayshul Tuten rushed 12 times for 39 yards in Jacksonville’s Week 6 loss to the Texans, adding four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns on his only four targets.

The Jaguars looked like they were in control with their run game early in this one, but Tuten sputtered out in the second half, where he managed just six carries for 18 yards with the Jaguars curiously going away from Chris Rodriguez Jr. Tuten played 40-of-72 snaps with Rodriguez having a big day on the ground. It feels good that his “down” games are like this, and he also had a rushing touchdown pulled off the board after what appeared to be a phantom holding flag was thrown. Tuten enters the Week 7 bye as an RB2.

Trevor Lawrence completed 24-of-41 passes for 306 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Jacksonville’s 34-31, Week 6 loss to the Texans.

It could have been more, had Liam Coen not settled for a game-tying field goal on fourth-and-short with less than four minutes left in the game. It also could have been more had Lawrence not thrown an end-zone pick to Calen Bullock. At the end of the day, the screen day was dealing and Lawrence was hitting all sorts of in-breakers against a beleaguered Texans secondary. He enters the bye week as a sure-fire QB1 with 1,174 passing yards and 10 throwing touchdowns in his first five games. Last year’s rushing touchdowns appear to have vanished as the Jaguars have gotten better in the red zone, but Lawrence is still playing exceptional football.

Foster Moreau caught 2-of-2 targets for seven yards and two touchdowns in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

Sure. One of them was even a beautiful one-handed snag as the game drew near halftime. Moreau out-paced Dalton Schultz (4-of-6 targets, 33 yards) in the fantasy streets even if not on the snap count spreadsheets. You know better than to chase the low-snap high-touchdown outlier.

Marvin Harrison Jr. caught 3-of-4 targets for 34 yards in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

It tied his season-high for receptions in four games with Arizona. Harrison played just 12 snaps. The Texans do seem dedicated to giving him the ball — as you’d hope after he was acquired for a second-round pick — and we imagine he’ll be in the FLEX conversation next week against the Giants after a full week to hone trust with the coaching staff. His first two catches were on in-breaking routes.

Nico Collins caught 3-of-5 targets for 76 yards in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

He added a long defensive pass interference penalty drawn on Travis Hunter to set up Houston’s second third-quarter touchdown. Collins also took an end around in the red zone for five rushing yards. Close, but ultimately not the line that fantasy managers were hoping for. Collins will remain in the low-end WR1 region against the Giants in Week 7.

Jaylin Noel caught 4-of-4 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

Noel has scored in all of Houston’s wins this year; that’s analytics. The underlying numbers are more annoying — he played 31-of-63 snaps and was not one of Houston’s top targets in what has been a frustrating room. Still, it’s very clear he’s the second-most talented player in this receiving corps, even if Marvin Harrison Jr. is cutting in. Noel has some FLEX viability in Week 7 against the Giants.

Jawhar Jordan rushed six times for 43 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars, adding a seven-yard reception on his only target.

Jordan had a huge cutback lane in the third quarter and took it 25 yards while breaking a Jarrian Jones tackle for his touchdown. He played just 14-of-63 snaps, but clearly brought more juice than Woody Marks in the run game and it wouldn’t be a total surprise if that total grew next week with David Montgomery (groin) expected to remain sidelined. Jordan is likely just a FLEX play against the Giants in Week 7.

Woody Marks rushed 15 times for 56 yards in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars, adding two catches for 25 yards on three targets.

Marks was mostly bottled up, though he did manage 9/41 in the second half behind a few reasonably big runs to become the first back all year to hit 40 rushing yards against the Jaguars. He played 49-of-63 snaps. The Texans run game is still bad, but against the Giants in Week 7 Marks should probably be on the RB2 line.

C.J. Stroud completed 24-of-34 passes for 312 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Houston’s 34-31, Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

The Texans running game was mostly abandoned until the fourth quarter, leaving Stroud to wail on an overmatched Jaguars secondary. His best throw was probably on Houston’s final possession of the first half, as he dotted a 50-yard throw with a defender in his face to Jaylin Noel, eventually setting up (checking notes) Foster Moreau’s second touchdown of the day. Stroud has now thrown for six touchdowns and gone over 260 yards in each of his last three games; he’s suddenly in the high-end QB2 competition with bye weeks hitting as the Texans host the Giants in Week 7.

Reed Blankenship (concussion) was ruled out of Houston’s Week 6 game against the Jaguars.

Blankenship suffered the concussion near the end of the first half and was carted off with a towel over his head. MJ Stewart took over at safety for a suddenly-ordinary Texans defense.
