Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is not practicing on Friday.

Diggs was unable to get on the practice field this week and will likely be ruled out for Week 5’s game against the Giants in the next few hours. Rookie receiver Antonio Williams would again be in line for a busy day and could be the favorite to lead the team in targets this week, especially if Terry McLaurin (hamstring) also misses this week. McLaurin’s status remains wait and see after he was spotted on the practice field Friday after being a DNP on the first two days.
Henry rumbles in for an 18-yard TD vs. Falcons
Derrick Henry takes the pass from Tyler Huntley and finds the end zone from 18 yards out, bringing the Baltimore Ravens within two points of the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.

It was reported before the game that McLaurin would not be a full go after he was limited in practice all week with a hamstring injury. While McLaurin would finish the game with the third-most snaps played by any Commanders receiver, his 28 routes run were tied for the most of any player on the team. McLaurin converted all four of his targets into receptions on Sunday, with his biggest gain coming on a 22-yard reception in overtime that looked to be the start of an eventual game-winning drive for Washington. McLaurin’s 62 receiving yards led all of Washington’s pass-catchers in this one, and he has now totaled 50 or more yards in three straight games. If Stefon Diggs, who missed this week’s game (hamstring) is able to suit up next week against the 49ers, McLaurin will profile as a fringe WR2/WR3.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
While it’s good news that McLaurin is active, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported earlier that he is “likely not a full go” for Sunday’s game. To make matters worse, the Commanders and Giants are expected to battle it out in soggy conditions all afternoon, which could further limit McLaurin’s upside in this one. Fantasy managers hoping to play him need to temper expectations given his status and the game’s conditions, and shouldn’t consider McLaurin as anything more than a mid-to-low-end WR3. The Commanders announced WR Stefon Diggs (hamstring), QB Marcus Mariota (knee), S Tyler Owens (hamstring), S Nick Cross (illness), S Percy Butler (hamstring), OG Tanoa Togiai, and DE Charles Omenihu (groin/ankle) are inactive for Week 5.

McLaurin is listed as questionable for Week 5 after getting in a single limited practice on Friday. Even if he does play, McLaurin will likely be on a pitch count. Stefon Diggs has already been ruled out with a hamstring issue of his own. Rookie Antonio Williams will be asked to step up whether or not McLaurin is active.

Keep it locked to Rotoworld, folks. Hopefully, we get word on McLaurin’s status on Saturday, but it appears as though we may have to wait until Sunday morning. Fowler adds that rookie WR Antonio Williams “could be a factor in the passing game regardless of whether McLaurin plays.”
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
McLaurin could end up playing here, but he would be a risk for an in-game aggravation. The Commanders’ No. 1 wide receiver was sidelined on Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to a limited session on Friday. Hopefully, weekend reports on the injury shed light on things. If active, he is a WR2 if active.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #3
Diggs did not practice this week and was ruled out by the team shortly after Friday’s practice concluded. His absence will give rookie Antonio Williams, who ran 30 routes last week, a chance to take on a bigger role. Williams tied for the team lead with eight targets in Week 4’s game against the Colts and could be treated as a desperation WR4/FLEX play. Fantasy managers considering Williams for their lineups may want to check the weather, as rain and wind are currently forecasted for the area, which could create a suboptimal environment for Washington’s passing game.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #3
This runs contrary to media reporters that said he was participating. Welp. Diggs is officially in danger of missing Week 5 after two DNPs to start the week. Perhaps the Commanders deep wideouts will merit some desperation FLEX plays this week with Jayden Daniels under center. Or perhaps Diggs will turn it around enough on Friday to get a questionable tag.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
McLaurin could technically return later in the session and go down as a limited participant, but we highly doubt that will happen. He will be listed as a DNP for the second day in a row, making it extremely unlikely he is available for Week 5. After facing the Giants this week, the Commanders get a slightly longer rest period before taking on the 49ers on Monday in Week 6. If they are worried about McLaurin re-aggravating the issue, they get their bye the following week, which would give him plenty of time to recover. For now, Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams will lead the team’s receiver room.

Diggs was held out of Wednesday’s session because of the hamstring issue. Even a limited practice today puts him on track to suit up on Sunday. Terry McLaurin, on the other hand, looks likely to miss another week with a hamstring injury of his own. That will put Diggs in the WR1 seat for Week 5 against the Giants. Antonio Williams will continue to operate as the team’s No. 2 receiver.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
After missing Week 4 as a late addition to the injury report, it looks like McLaurin is set to miss his second game because of the hamstring issue. If healthy, Stefon Diggs will operate as Jayden Daniels’ No. 1 receiver. Diggs himself is now dealing with a hamstring injury, so there’s no guarantee he’s available either. Antonio Williams and Chig Okonkwo could see more work if both wideouts can’t play this week.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said LB Devin White “is probably going to need surgery” after fracturing his forearm in Week 5 against the Cardinals.

The Lions’ backup linebacker is expected to miss some time. The Lions will also be without WR Tom Kennedy, who serves as the team’s top returner, for a while. Kennedy suffered a “sprain,” seemingly in his knee, during a return.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Packers DT Javon Hargrave is believed to have suffered an Achilles tendon rupture in Week 5 against the Bears.

This is an extremely unfortunate occurrence for the 33-year-old pro. Hargrave has one year remaining on his contract. He faces a tough recovery, and Rapoport notes that this is the second Achilles tendon rupture for the Packers’ defense in as many weeks, with LB Edgerrin Cooper suffering the same injury in Week 4 against the Buccaneers. Hargrave will ultimately require surgery and be placed on injured reserve.

Tyler Allgeier rushed three times for seven yards in the Cardinals’ Week 5 loss to the Lions.

Allgeier was a non-factor, even with the Cardinals pulling Jeremiyah Love in the fourth quarter. Allgeier did not log a carry in the first quarter. He is nothing more than a bench stash moving forward. The Cardinals face the Rams in Week 6.

Jeremiyah Love rushed 12 times for 22 yards in the Cardinals’ Week 5 loss to the Lions.

Love played extensively early in the game. He was the only Cardinals running back to record a carry in the first quarter. The Lions began running up the score in the second quarter, and Love was seemingly simply phased out as Jacoby Brissett repeatedly fired passes downfield. Later, in the fourth quarter, the camera suddenly showed Love standing on the sideline without his helmet. A reporter chimed in to say that Love had not received attention from the training staff, but noted that Love told her he is still managing the ankle injury he suffered in training camp. Reports also indicated that he tweaked his other ankle last week. Love’s weekly floor is sinking as his production becomes increasingly touchdown-dependent. That said, he should be in fantasy lineups as an RB2/3 against the Rams next week.

Trey McBride caught 9-of-10 targets for 66 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals’ Week 5 loss to the Lions.

McBride looked like his normal, dominant self, carving up defenders on out routes and in-breakers. Unfortunately, hearts were also broken when Jacoby Brissett fired a touchdown pass right past McBride, running wide open inside the Lions’ five-yard line, to backup TE Teagan Quitoriano, also running wide open in the back of the end zone. Fortunately, McBride was able to haul in a juggling, falling and contested touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter to boost his final stat line. McBride is an elite TE1 against the Rams next week.

Kendrick Bourne caught 5-of-8 targets for 70 yards in the Cardinals’ Week 5 loss to the Lions.

Bourne looks like a viable FLEX starter for those in need. His 70 receiving yards were a team high, and his eight targets trailed only Trey McBride (10). The journeyman receiver delivered two 20-plus-yard gains via post routes, the first coming on the Cardinals’ first drive and the second on the seventh. Jacoby Brissett tried to force another downfield shot to Bourne on the latter drive, but it didn’t work out. Bourne is running high-value routes in the center of the field, playing for a garbage-time team with a cannon-armed quarterback. The results could be volatile at times, but he is worth starting in the FLEX against the Rams next week.

Michael Wilson caught 4-of-7 targets for 30 yards in the Cardinals’ Week 5 loss to the Lions, adding one pass for seven yards.

Wilson almost scored a passing touchdown via an end-around trick play on the Cardinals’ opening drive, but his receiver, Jacoby Brissett, was stopped two yards shy of the end zone. Heartbreak struck again two drives later, when Wilson only got one foot in bounds along the sideline on a would-be 19-yard catch. Brissett went right back to him on the following play, but the contested pass edged past Wilson’s outstretched hands. Wilson tacked on a couple of short gains before snagging a 17-yard pass on the Cardinals’ ninth drive, and he nearly bagged a 47-yard touchdown down the left sideline on the 10th drive, but his coverage defender effectively contested it, resulting in an incompletion. Wilson should handle a WR2-level workload against the Rams in Week 6.

Jacoby Brissett completed 29-of-47 passes for 292 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Cardinals’ 21-45, Week 5 loss to the Lions.

Brissett also rushed twice for 19 yards and nearly scored on a trick play via a seven-yard reception. He was stopped at the Lions’ two-yard line. Brissett guided the Cardinals to a 14-play scoring drive on their first possession, which he capped off with a two-yard touchdown strike to backup TE Teagan Quitoriano. The bottom dropped out after that. The Cardinals racked up five straight drives ending a punt, with Brissett only managing to break the dreary streak by throwing an interception. Brissett managed to salvage his box score with another Quitoriano score, and a juggling touchdown catch secured by Trey McBride. Brissett also coaxed a few big plays out of fellow backup TE Elijah Higgins. Apparently, the veteran quarterback is ready to target more towering pass catchers with Marvin Harrison Jr. now a Texan. Brissett is borderline QB1/2 with a shaky floor in Week 6 against the Rams. Coach Mike LaFleur said post-game that he is not considering a quarterback change.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports Giants RT Jermaine Eluemunor (calf) is feeling better post-game, but the team will have to see how he feels as the week progresses.

According to Raanan, Eluemunor “felt his calf pop” and left today’s game against the Commanders. That sounds unpleasant. Fortunately, he was able to walk around on his own, which is a good sign. Regardless, this is worth following. Giants LT Andrew Thomas has been playing through a groin injury. Stay tuned.

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ Week 5 win over the Cardinals, adding five receptions for 56 yards.

Gibbs scored twice today, bringing his career touchdown total up to 57, breaking the NFL record set by former Lions RB Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns scored by a player under 25 years old. The exceptionally talented player gets a boost from his sharp coaching staff, who continue to maximize Gibbs’ strengths. OC Drew Petzing dialed up a trick-play screen pass for Gibbs after the two-minute warning, in which Gibbs took the handoff, pitched it to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who pitched it back to Jared Goff, who then chucked it back to Gibbs with three offensive linemen in front of him on the left side of the field. An 18-yard gain ensued. Gibbs later produced a season-long 22-yard run. Although he scored two touchdowns today, he could have had a third. On the Lions’ ninth drive, Gibbs got two chances from the one-yard line on the ninth drive before the coaching staff greenlit a successful QB sneak for Goff. The Lions are on bye in Week 6, but he returns to the top of the running back ranks against the Packers in Week 7.
