Kyren Williams rushed 16 times for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ Week 5 loss to the Bills, adding 27 yards on six receptions.

Williams has yet to see more than the 16 carries he saw against the Bills this season but the team’s recent pass-heavy nature has left the veteran lead back with six or more receptions in three straight games, including 27 total targets in that span. The elite-level aerial volume made it three consecutive games with 20 or more opportunities for Williams, who continues to return RB1 fantasy weeks while playing in one of the league’s top offenses. Williams remains a middling RB1 ahead of a Week 6 divisional showdown against the Cardinals at home.

Williams played for the duration of the first and third drives, ceding the second to Blake Corum, who played well right out of the gate. The duo rotated during drives thereafter. Williams looked like his normal, capable self, showcasing a slick spin move off contact on the Rams’ fourth drive. Unfortunately for him, Corum fought hard to convert a first down just inside the red zone and coach Sean McVay kept him out there for the scoring-position sequence, which ended in a 15-yard receiving score for Corum. Williams quietly continued his high-end receiving involvement, earning six targets against the Cardinals today. Williams belongs in the RB1 tier next week against the Raiders.

Williams’ 10 receptions were a new career high, while his 26 touches were tied for his seventh most. This, as Blake Corum handled the ball only six times. With Matthew Stafford having trouble against a stout Eagles defense in the rain, he focused on Williams checkdowns, and the strategy actually paid off as the Rams erased a 20-10 halftime deficit. Williams now has 47 touches over the past two weeks after that number was 28 for Weeks 1 and 2. With the Rams off to a shaky start, it’s not surprising they’ve started concentrating touches on their most established weapons. Corum is going to hang around as a nuisance, but Williams has returned himself to the low-end RB1 mix ahead of a likely Week 5 shootout with the Bills.

Atkins believes Puka Nacua’s (groin) impending return will lighten the box, in turn making life easier on the run game and preventing the opposition from blitzing as frequently as the Broncos did last week. Corum has not established himself as a reliable weekly contributor in fantasy. Perhaps positive impacts from Nacua’s return trickle down to the Rams’ No. 2 running back. Kyren Williams remains a locked-in starter. Keep Corum stashed for now.
  • LA Running Back #23
Williams’ 70 yards through the air were a career-high mark in receiving for a single game, returning yet another RB1 fantasy performance despite sharing backfield work with Blake Corum. Corum managed only 15 yards on six carries and caught two passes for zero additional yards. Furthermore, Corum has still not seen a carry inside the red zone through three games of the 2026 season. Williams remains a surefire RB1 ahead of a difficult matchup against the Eagles in Week 4.
  • LA Running Back #23
Williams has opened the season with touchdowns in consecutive games after hitting pay dirt 15 times or more the previous two seasons. The difference this season is that he’s doing it while Blake Corum has been much more involved in the weekly game plan. Williams continues forward with an elevated weekly floor due to his robust red zone role, albeit with a shakier ceiling than in recent years due to the presence of Corum. He remains a back-end RB2 when the Rams travel to Colorado to face the Bronco in Week 3.
  • LA Running Back #23
Williams’ day was salvaged with a short-yardage score. He finished with one more rushing attempt than Blake Corum, but Corum did look spryer with 54 yards on those attempts. The Rams’ offense just didn’t have it in the Australian showdown, and Williams should see a better box score in Week 2 against the Giants; even if Corum remains a fantasy adversary.
  • LA Running Back #24
Corum took a nice leap in his second season as a pro, posting a 145-746-6 rushing line over 17 games while competing with Kyren Williams for touches every step of the way. Like Corum, Williams was also healthy for 17 games, but that didn’t stop Corum from popping up for a few top-24 PPR finishes last season. Corum’s 9.4 opportunities per game weren’t enough to make him a reliable option in start/sit leagues, as he managed only one double-digit PPR performance from Weeks 1-12, but his production could pave the way for a more even split with Williams this season. It may take some time to determine whether or not we can view Corum as a player who has standalone value this season, but he remains one of the best handcuffs in fantasy playing in an elite offense that could feature him in a high-volume role should Williams ever miss time.
  • LA Running Back #24
Back on May 1st, Atkins predicted Rams coach Sean McVay would deploy starting RB Kyren Williams and Corum in a 50-50 split, with Williams operating as the “primary third-down back and between-the-tackles runner,” while Corum functions as “a change-of-pace option with explosive capabilities.” With spring workouts complete, Atkins is doubling down with minor clarifications. Corum has made strides as a pass protector and receiver, and could “earn more playing time in an offense that wants to blur the run and the pass,” but Williams still remains the superior passing game player and should out-snap Corum because of this. Williams’ “consistency and short-yardage skills” could also keep him on the field in goal-line situations. Williams posted a 259/1,252/10 rushing line while Corum went for 145/746/6. Atkins thinks the two backs could split carries almost 50-50, which would seemingly make a 1,000-yard season doable for Corum. However, Corum’s ceiling outcome is limited if Williams indeed remains the primary player on passing downs and in goal-line situations.
  • LA Running Back #23
Atkins still expects Williams to be the starter. Playing on third down and in the two-minute drill gives running backs an edge in PPR formats. Atkins did not specify which back will play in the latter scenario, but we imagine Williams will get the first crack at the gig. If Williams is also set to be the interior runner, it likely means he gets the first chance in the red zone. He out-snapped No. 2 RB Blake Corum in the red zone, 26-6, during the playoffs last year. That said, losing touches to the point of a 50-50 split hurts his upside.
  • LA Running Back #23
It was yet another game where the Rams struggled on the ground, but where Williams’ touchdown-catching prowess was enough to keep him in the scorebook as he got lost on a mesh concept near the end zone. Williams lost his volume back role this year as the Rams gradually started introducing more Blake Corum to the offense in October. He wound up playing 68 percent of the snaps on the season, but it was 63 percent after Week 6. He made up for it by scoring eight touchdowns down the stretch. With a long-term contract secured, there’s no reason Williams can’t be a reasonable RB2 in 2026 — just don’t draft him with the idea that he’s a true volume back.

CJ Donaldson (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

A limited practice to start the week is usually maintenance. Donaldson looked good last week, running for 39 yards on six attempts, though he did commit one fumble. Donaldson is one of three backs seeing work for the Saints, and none of them have made a strong case to get more touches. Donaldson is a weak FLEX option for Week 7.

Alvin Kamara (back) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Kamara has been playing through the back issue for several weeks. He is expected to do so again this week. Kamara is part of a three-back committee, and he isn’t the leader of the trio, but that didn’t stop him from finding the end zone on nine touches last week. With a limited receiving role to go along with his shrinking rushing workload, he’s barely in the RB3 mix for Week 7.

Rams coach Sean McVay said the team is still determining “the best time” to schedule Davante Adams’ (hamstring) “cleanup” procedure.

Surgeries are sometimes delayed to help reduce swelling. Occasionally, new information is gathered during this time and/or during the surgery. Adams is currently expected to be sidelined for 6-10 weeks. Perhaps the wide return-to-play timeline is due to the fact that the surgeon has not yet fully assessed the injury. We tentatively expect the team to share an updated recovery timeline once Adams undergoes the procedure on his ruptured hamstring tendon. Stay tuned.

Rico Dowdle (toe) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

The Steelers will likely limit Dowdle’s reps for a few weeks as he manages the toe injury that cost him three games. He should be good to go for Sunday’s game by Friday. Dowdle saw 10 touches in his first game back and looked relatively explosive, running for 40 yards on seven attempts. He is in the RB3 mix for Week 7 versus the Saints.

Pat Surtain (ankle) resumed practicing on Wednesday.

NFL on Prime’s James Palmer reported last week that Surtain was likely to return for the Broncos’ Week 8 game against the Chiefs, rather than face the Cardinals in Week 7. Given Surtain’s multi-week absence, and Palmer’s reporting, we expect to see Surtain listed as a limited participant on the final injury report. Whether he returns in time for the Cardinals’ game remains to be seen.

Trent Brown (wrist) did not practice Wednesday.

Brown was on the injury report because of the wrist injury several times earlier in the season. The team only listed him with a knee issue last week, and he was cleared from the injury report on Friday, but it’s likely that he’s been managing the wrist injury all season. Blake Fisher, his projected backup, also missed practice today, so this is at least a situation to monitor throughout the week.

Dalton Schultz (quad) did not practice Wednesday.

Schultz never left the Texans’ Week 6 game against Jacksonville, but he was spotted with a limp after taking a knee to the leg. It’s possible the injury was worse than initially expected. If he were to miss Week 7, Foster Moreau, who scored twice last week, would be the next man up. Given that Schultz was barely putting up TE2 numbers as the starter, our hopes for Moreau as a streaming option would not be high.

Justin Jefferson (ankle) was limited on Wednesday.

This is just a maintenance day for the Vikings’ No. 1 wide receiver. Jefferson has an excellent matchup this week against the struggling Colts’ defense. The unit will likely be without No. 1 CB Sauce Gardner (calf), further enhancing Jefferson’s WR1 outlook for Week 7.

Cam Jurgens (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 7 against the Bengals.

The Ravens acquired Jurgens from the Eagles two weeks ago, but he hasn’t made his Baltimore debut yet while he works through the league’s concussion protocol. A full practice today puts him on track to suit up in Week 7. His return will move rookie Vega Ioane back to right guard.

Jordan Addison (hamstring) is practicing in full for Week 7 against the Colts.

Addison, well-rested coming off his team’s Week 6 bye, is ready to go. The Colts’ defense has played poorly, and they will likely be without top CB Sauce Gardner (calf). Addison can be a volatile producer at times, but he warrants WR3/FLEX treatment this week.
