Darnell Mooney (neck) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

He still has multiple practices left to improve his status. If Mooney were to miss time, Malachi Fields, who is tied with him for third on the team in targets, could see his role expand, though target volume could be limited behind Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers.

Mooney should be good to go this week, but he does not need to be on fantasy football rosters. Giants TE Theo Johnson (neck) was limited.

Fields saw a season-high eight targets, but caught just two of those passes for 19 yards. The Giants passing game behind Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely isn’t productive for fantasy purposes. Darnell Mooney had a carry for 20 yards while Charlie Jones caught 2-of-3 passes for 66 yards. Fields is the best option past Nabers and Likely, but he can be left on fantasy benches for Week 7 against the Texans.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Mooney turned seven targets into 14 yards last week and does not need to be trusted to do better this week.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Mooney’s participation puts him on track to face the Saints in Week 6. He does not need to be in 12-team lineups, and his presence, unfortunately, keeps Malachi Fields from potentially playing in a full-time role.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Mooney has exactly two catches in each of his first three games as a Giant. He has hit on a few chunk plays in New York but isn’t seeing enough targets to be a weekly fantasy option. He is not on the FLEX radar for Week 4.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Mooney played well behind Malik Nabers and rookie Malachi Fields but was able to cash in on a 33-yard reception to pad his counting stats in the loss. Fantasy managers of Nabers will want to track his status closely in the coming week after the talented youngster briefly departed with a shoulder injury. An absence could thrust Mooney into a near every-down role against the Titans in Week 3.

The rookie wide receiver showcased a polished all-around skillset, reinforcing offseason reports that he had locked down the WR2 role opposite Malik Nabers. His 6'4, 220-pound frame was on full display as he was continually utilized as both a down-blocker and blocker in the second level on runs, something that should allow him to continue to operate as the clear-cut WR2 for the Giants throughout his rookie campaign. That said, the box scores highlights the obvious distinction that his snap rate — he led all Giants wideouts with 50 — won’t always translate to fantasy production while playing alongside Nabers and tight end Isaiah Likely, the latter two of whom commanded 17 targets on 29 Jaxson Dart pass attempts. The good news is that he played well ahead of veterans Darnell Mooney and Odell Beckham Jr., with Mooney having 39 snaps and Beckham just 11. Fantasy managers are best off viewing Fields as a high-end stash at the end of benches for the time being.

This is not much of an endorsement. With Giants WR Malik Nabers (knee) and WR Darius Slayton (core muscle) sidelined by recent surgeries, Mooney and Austin are reportedly earning targets behind TE Isaiah Likely and TE Theo Johnson at organized team activities. Mooney ($10 million) and Austin ($4.5 million) signed one-year deals with the Giants in free agency. Nothing Stapleton “saw today would indicate that there’s no room” for free agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. in this wide receiver group. Avoiding the Giants’ healthy wide receivers in spring drafts is a prudent call.

This one is a bit head-scratching. Mooney’s skillset seems to carry significant overlap with returning veteran Darius Slayton, the latter of whom recently signed a new three-year deal that ties him to the franchise through 2027. Mooney did play from the slot at a 41% frequency a season ago and the team saw Wan’Dale Robinson walk in free agency, although Mooney will have to compete with veteran holdover Isaiah Hodgins and recent signee Calvin Austin for snaps inside, if that is the vision from the team. The size of the contract seems to indicate he will have a legitimate role in the offense in 2026.

Ian Rapoport was first on the news, which will be made official before the new league year next week. Atlanta saves $7.4 million in cap space with his release. Mooney looked like a steal one year into his three-year, $39 million contract. He went for 992 yards and five scores in 2024. The wheels then fell off in 2025 and he managed just 443 yards and one score on 32 grabs. Mooney dealt with several injuries, but his drops and overall inconsistent play were too much for Atlanta to keep him around this year. He should still have several suitors in free agency.

Blake Corum had 17 rushes for 93 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ Week 7 win against the Raiders, adding one catch for eight yards.

Corum had the lead in carries until the final drive of the game, when the Rams turned to Kyren Williams to seal the victory following a short-lived Raiders comeback. Corum’s fantasy day could have been much bigger if he hadn’t had two touchdowns called back on penalties along with another chunk gain. Despite running cold on luck, Corum’s role continued to grow even after Williams complained publicly about the backfield workload split last week. Williams logged 18 routes against the Raiders while Corum ran just nine. Look for the Rams to be more run heavy in the coming weeks with Davante Adams out indefinitely with a hamstring injury, putting Corum in play as a weekly flex. He gets the Chargers in Week 8.

Bo Nix completed 15-of-29 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ 30-16, Week 7 win over the Cardinals, adding seven carries for 74 yards.

Per usual, Nix had a quiet day through the air, which is doubly true when you realize 52 of his yards and his lone touchdown came on an RJ Harvey screen. Nix struggled to get his deep ball going, missing several long shots that would have padded out an otherwise lacking box score. On the other hand, fantasy managers won’t be complaining after seeing his rushing line, which was largely the result of a 62-yard rushing touchdown late in the first half. Denver sent nearly all of their eligible pass catchers to the right side of the field, opening up a running lane big enough for at least one 18-wheeler. Facing a much stingier Chiefs defense in Week 8, we don’t expect another elite fantasy showing from Nix next week. He will be on the QB1/2 border for the AFC West showdown.

Jared Goff completed 22-of-32 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 20-17, Week 7 win over the Packers.

In a game that felt like it should have featured far more points, Goff and the Lions narrowly walked away with the win. He led an explosive opening drive that included a 28-yard pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown and a 24-yard pass to Jameson Williams, and ended with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Williams to put the Lions up 7-0 early. Goff would again connect with Williams for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, and narrowly missed linking up with him for a third touchdown were it not for Williams being forced out of the end zone on a catch when the Lions went for it on fourth-and-five from the Packers’ six-yard line. Goff did lose a fumble in this one on a botched snap exchange with his center, but it was an overall strong outing for the Lions’ signal-caller. Goff has yet to throw an interception this season and has now thrown for over 300 yards in three of his six games this season. He’ll be a fringe QB1/QB2 next week at home against the 6-0 Vikings.

RJ Harvey caught two passes for 54 yards in the Broncos’ Week 7 win over the Cardinals.

Harvey only ran the ball three times for six yards. Jonah Coleman, who was active for the first time since Week 2, ran nine times and also caught a pair of passes. Harvey’s role took a hit, but he made the most of his limited opportunities with a 52-yard screen in the third quarter. Sean Payton’s play-call schemed half of the Cardinals’ defense out of the play and Harvey blew by the other half on his way to the end zone. Despite the spike week for fantasy managers, Harvey’s declining role will have been tumlbing down the running back ranks for Week 8. He will be on the RB3/4 border versus Kansas City next week.

J.K. Dobbins rushed six times for 23 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ Week 7 win over the Cardinals.

Dobbins was the team’s preferred option at the goal line, allowing him to save a bust of a fantasy day with a one-yard score in the second half. He was initially stood up at the goal line but made it in the paint by driving his legs through the contact for six. Dobbins was held under 10 points even with the touchdown. Jonah Coleman returned this week and led the team in carries with nine. Harvey ran the ball just three times. This backfield is a messy, three-man committee and Dobbins doesn’t get to pad the stats with PPR-friendly targets. He will shuffle to the back of the RB3 ranks for his Week 8 date with the Chiefs.

Jaylen Waddle left Week 7’s game against the Cardinals with an apparent shoulder injury.

Up by 14, Sean Payton dialed up a trick play for Waddle, giving him a pitch as Waddle came across the formation. Waddle bobbled the ball and was clobbered by Josh Sweat. He writhed in pain while holding his left shoulder. Trainers came onto the field and eventually walked him into the locker room. With less than four minutes on the clock at the time of his departure, we don’t expect to see him again today. Waddle’s day ends with four catches for 48 yards on seven targets.

Chiefs declared WR Rashee Rice, OT Jaylon Moore, QB Garrett Nussmeier, DB Jadon Canady, FB Ben VanSumeren, and DE Jack Pyburn inactive for Week 7 against the Seahawks.

No real surprise here after Rice was ruled out on Friday, with the Chiefs once again shorthanded as they look to remain the lone undefeated team in the league following the loss by the 49ers earlier in the day. Expect Xavier Worthy and Jalen Royals to serve as the top two receivers with Rice inactive and Tyquan Thornton done for the season, with Andrew Armstrong and rookie Cyrus Allen on hand to soak up situational snaps.

Lock will serve as the emergency quarterback while the team will have to wait another week for the season debut of Zach Charbonnet. The Seahawks look to make up ground in the NFC West following the loss from the 49ers against the last remaining undefeated team in the league.

Cade Otton was held without a catch in the Bucs’ Week 7 win over the Panthers.

What seemed like it could maybe be a pop-up performance for Otton in Emeka Egbuka’s (concussion, foot) absence instead turned into a one-target day as the Bucs rode their rushing attack and Panthers turnovers to a dominant road W. Otton typically comes with a 3-4 catch floor, but the same has been true of his “ceiling” this season. He will continue to struggle to get into the mix ahead of Week 8 against the Falcons.
