Alvin Kamara (back) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Kamara played through the back injury last week but only touched the ball five times. Kendre Miller rushed 10 times and CJ Donaldson led the team in snaps. The Saints are likely managing Kamara’s workload as he deals with this back issue. Kamara is not on the fantasy radar for Week 6.

Tyler Shough ended up leading the Saints with seven rushing yards. Yikes. Kamara was effective as a receiver out of the backfield, but to say that New Orleans struggled to run the ball is quite the understatement as they finished with 18 yards on 17 attempts. The good news for fantasy managers that used Kamara is that he was effective out of the backfield as a receiver, but it’s a modest day for the 31-year-old. Kamara and the Saints will try and get something going after a bye against the Browns in Week 9.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara was still listed as limited in Friday’s practice, but the Saints feel confident enough in his health to clear him for Week 7. Kamara found the end zone last week on a 31-yard reception, but has largely been inefficient with his touches this season. He seen 14 opportunities to Kendre Miller’s 30 over the last two weeks and will be hard to trust as anything more than a touchdown-dependent RB3 against the Steelers. The only players on the Saints carrying injury designations into the weekend are guard Cesar Ruiz (knee) and DL Nathan Sheperd (illness). Both are listed as questionable.
  • NO Running Back #41
He’s played through this listing for a few weeks now, and though he’ll sometimes get dinged up in game, appears no worse for the wear. Kendre Miller feels like the more viable back in a normal game script right now, with Kamara playing more on passing downs.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara has been playing through the back issue for several weeks. He is expected to do so again this week. Kamara is part of a three-back committee, and he isn’t the leader of the trio, but that didn’t stop him from finding the end zone on nine touches last week. With a limited receiving role to go along with his shrinking rushing workload, he’s barely in the RB3 mix for Week 7.

The Saints deployed a committee backfield once again for Week 6. Kamara was the third running back into the game for the Saints, but was the only one to score a touchdown. He briefly went to the medical tent after falling on his hip in the first half but re-entered the game soon after. Kamara caught a swing pass from Tyler Shough and tip-toed away from the sideline to score from 17 yards out in the third quarter. With that catch, he became the sixth player in NFL history with 5,000 yards receiving and 5,000 yards rushing in his career. Despite the touchdown and milestone, Kamara was still third in running back snaps and is a touchdown-dependent FLEX play for Week 7 against the Steelers.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara is active after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported he would be expected to play in Week 6. He played through the back injury last week and is part of a rough running back committee in the Saints backfield. Kamara is in the RB4 ranks for fantasy purposes. Also active is Chris Olave (illness). The Saints declared QB Zach Wilson, EDGE Anfernee Jennings, S Mike Reid, LB Kaden Elliss, DT Nathan Shepherd, and DT John Ridgeway inactive for Week 6 against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through the back issue last week, though he only saw five touches. He has fallen behind Kendre Miller in the pecking order for carries, and even CJ Donaldson is pushing him for work on passing downs. Kamara is barely an RB4 for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara practiced each day this week, so it’s a bit surprising to see him here. Assuming no rough quotes or reports come out, we’d regard him as on the optimistic side of questionable. He’s a reasonable FLEX play against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through this injury in Week 5, and it doesn’t seem like he’s in any real danger of missing this one. It would be nice to see a full practice on Friday, but even if we don’t get that, Kamara should be a FLEX consideration for Week 6.

He “added” two catches for -6 yards. Kamara rotated with Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson throughout the game. Donaldson ultimately led the backfield in snaps, while Miller’s 10 carries paced the team. Kamara only touched the ball once in the second half and spent long stretches of the final two quarters on the sidelines with his helmet off. The team was likely managing his reps while he played through a back injury. He was listed as questionable heading into today’s game. As part of a three-man committee, Kamara is barely an RB4 for his Week 6 date with the Giants.

Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot said the “vibe” is that Shedeur Sanders will start in Week 9 against the Saints.

Cabot said it would be a challenge for Deshaun Watson to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol by Saturday and suit up for Sunday’s game. Watson suffered a head injury in Week 8 against the Steelers and reported concussion symptoms on Tuesday, according to the Browns. Sanders in 2025 was the most inaccurate quarterback in the league and struggled to support fantasy-relevant pass catchers. Harold Fannin could see a boost with Sanders under center after Sanders targeted the tight end relentlessly during his 2025 starts.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Jonathan Taylor remains on the Colts roster.

Steichen mostly dodged questions about why the Colts would play Taylor in Week 9 if the team was in talks with contenders who might want to acquire the star running back before the NFL’s trade deadline. “Teams call all the time,” Steichen told reports. He said the team was focused on the Cowboys, their opponents in Week 9. Taylor seems more than likely to be dealt to another team in the coming weeks. That could be the Vikings, Bengals, Seahawks, or another contending team in need of backfield help.

Tyler Huntley (toe) is out for the remainder of the season.

Further evaluation of Huntley’s toe injury showed it was a season ender. That leaves the Ravens desperate at quarterback for the remainder of the season. Against the Jaguars on Thursday night the team is likely to start Joe Fagnano. It’s unclear who will serve as the team’s backup quarterback this week or going forward. Zay Flowers goes from an elite weekly fantasy option to something closer to a WR3 in this degraded offensive environment. Derrick Henry’s prospects take a major knock too.

Browns placed Deshaun Watson in the NFL’ s concussion protocol.

Watson took a hit to the head in the first half of the Browns’ Week 8 loss to the Steelers. He was evaluated for a brain injury and re-entered the game. He then reported concussion-like symptoms on Tuesday and entered the protocol on Wednesday. It would be somewhat surprising if Watson is able to clear the protocol in time for the Browns’ Week 9 matchup against the Saints. That would likely mean Shedeur Sanders would get the starting nod against New Orleans. Sanders should only be rostered in superflex formats for now.

Brandon Aiyuk submitted paperwork to the NFL for his reinstatement.

Aiyuk’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed the development on Wednesday, and said Aiyuk would report to the 49ers on Friday. That could expedite his release from the team so he could seek employment with another, presumably wideout-needy NFL team. Aiyuk’s erratic behavior over the past year and questions about his conditioning could prevent some teams from pursuing him. “Brandon is healthy and ready to get back on the field,” Rosenhaus said. He had been closely linked to the Commanders before a series of online meltdowns in the offseason. The Rams could be in the market for Aiyuk with Davante Adams (hamstring) sidelined indefinitely. Aiyuk is still unlikely to have any fantasy value this season.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Mack Hollins (calf) will return to practice Wednesday.

Hollins has been on injured reserve for a month with a calf injury. With a full practice today he’ll have a good chance of suiting up in Week 9 against the Packers. Hollins will likely function as Drake Maye’s primary downfield option if A.J. Brown remains sidelined. Hollins’ return dings the fantasy prospects of DeMario Douglas, who has an 18 percent target share and a 19 percent air yards share over the team’s past three games. Hollins will be flex viable in deeper formats.

    Eagles waived CB Jakorian Bennett.

Bennett was acquired by the Eagles in a swap with the Raiders before the start of last season. The 26-year-old played 98 defensive snaps in two seasons for Philly, spending all of the 2026 season on injured reserve with a knee injury. The Eagles now waive Bennett from injured reserve.

The Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson said “indications point to Broncos WR Pat Bryant returning to practice this week.”

Bryant has missed the Broncos’ last four games after being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. The 23-year-old receiver is eligible to return whenever the Broncos deem him ready to do so, and his practicing this week would mean the team has opened his 21-day return window. Bryant has caught nine passes for 133 yards and one touchdown and was third among Broncos receivers in routes run (91) through the first four weeks of the season. He could make for an interesting stash in deeper leagues, but fantasy managers shouldn’t rush to put him in their lineups whenever he does return.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Brian Thomas Jr. “has been the area of interest for a lot of other teams.”

Thomas is once again the subject of trade talks as next week’s trade deadline rapidly approaches. The 24-year-old receiver, who broke out for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie, has earned just 22 targets through seven games this season and has a 10-117-2 line. With so many wide receiver-needy teams out there, it’s hard to imagine the Jaguars holding Thomas, who has become more of an afterthought in the offense, but they’ve resisted trading him over the last year despite multiple teams showing interest.

    Saints released K Daniel Carlson.

Carlson has converted 8-of-12 field goals this season and is 16-for-18 on PATs. The veteran kicker who is known for his big leg has seen all four of his misses come on distances of 50-plus yards, but that was more than enough for the Saints to look in a different direction. Practice squad kicker Charlie Smyth, who converted 12 of his 16 field goal attempts for the Saints last season has a chance to be the next man up when the Saints take on the Browns in Week 9.
