Lamar Jackson (ankle) was not present at the start of Wednesday’s practice.

Jackson could always return for the portion of practice not open to the media, but this is still a concerning start to the week for the superstar quarterback. Jackson missed Week 5 with the ankle injury after failing to practice once during the week. If he remains sidelined for Week 6, Tyler Huntley will make his second start of the year. Huntley acquitted himself well on Sunday night with 201 yards and two touchdowns through the air, plus a score on the ground, in Baltimore’s overtime win over the Falcons. He will be a solid QB2 for Superflex players if Jackson is out again this week.

Minter confirmed that Jackson would not practice today. He did not practice once last week before being ruled out on Friday. Jackson appears to be on the wrong side of questionable after missing today’s session, though Minter did note that Jackson is the caliber of player who can suit up on Sunday despite missing all three practices. If he can’t go, Tyler Huntley will draw the start. With Cincinnati and Buffalo on deck after Cleveland this week, the Ravens may opt to give Jackson one more game off before getting him back in the lineup for a pair of must-win games.

Jackson’s ankle injury, which has been described as neither high nor low, kept him sidelined in the Ravens’ win over the Falcons. It’s possible the Ravens will be cautious with Jackson and have Tyler Huntley start one more game in Week 6 against the Browns. Huntley against the Falcons threw for 201 yards and two scores. He was the seventh most accurate QB of the week. Jackson’s practice participation will be closely monitored over the next few days.

While this is good news for Jackson, Minter also said he wasn’t sure if Jackson would be back on the practice field on Wednesday. It was reported earlier on Monday that there was “some hope” that Jackson would play in Week 6 after he was “closer than people realized” to playing in Week 5 against the Falcons. This is shaping up to be another week where we are forced to monitor Jackson’s practice status up until Friday, when the team releases its final injury report. The Ravens are 4-1 and set to face a 3-2 Browns team in a pivotal AFC North matchup. If Jackson is unable to start, Tyler Huntley would make his second start of the season.

According to Rapoport, Jackson was “closer than people realized” to playing in Week 5 against the Falcons, which is an encouraging sign as the Ravens enter a pivotal matchup against the Browns. Jackson’s injury didn’t appear too severe when it initially happened in the second quarter of Week 4’s win over the Titans, so it’s not too surprising to hear that he nearly suited up for Sunday night’s game. That said, Jackson’s injuries have lingered in the past, so we’ll be monitoring his status throughout the week. If he’s not able to go, Tyler Huntley would make a second straight start for the Ravens, who currently lead the AFC North with a 4-1 record.

Jackson had already been ruled out earlier in the week and reportedly could be looking at a multi-game absence due to an ankle injury suffered before halftime in Week 4. Tyler Huntley will start under center for the Ravens as they look to subdue the momentum of the Falcons, who have won both games started by Michael Penix. Wide receiver Zay Flowers is officially active for Sunday Night Football.

Jackson was ruled out for Week 5 on Friday after failing to practice once this week. Rapoport added that Jackson has been “working like crazy” to get back on the field next week. Per Rapoport, that is Jackson’s goal. Tyler Huntley will start for as long as Jackson remains sidelined.

Earlier this week, Rapoport said Jackson had an “outside chance” of suiting up in Week 5 against the Falcons, but it sounds like the situation is a little more fluid than expected. With Tyler Huntley under center, the Ravens’ pass-catching corps takes a small hit, though Zay Flowers remains a must-start.

Many thanks to Minter for ruling Jackson out now rather than forcing fantasy managers to navigate a questionable designation all weekend. Jackson did not practice at all this week for the Ravens and felt like a near lock to miss this week’s game after it was reported on Tuesday that he had an “outside chance” to play on Sunday night against the Falcons. Minter said earlier in the week that he did not think Jackson’s injury would result in a “crazy long-term” absence, so we’ll see how things go for him next week when the Ravens prepare to face the AFC North-leading Browns in Week 6.

Jackson did not practice this week, but head coach Jesse Minter said on Wednesday that his QB1 could still play even if he doesn’t practice. We’ve heard this one too many times when it comes to Jackson and nagging injuries, and it’s not often we see him suit up in these scenarios. His status will be one to keep an eye on when the team releases its final injury report, but even if Jackson is given the questionable tag, we would recommend stashing an emergency option at QB in the event he doesn’t start. Given that the Ravens play on Sunday night, Jackson’s backup, Tyler Huntley, and Falcons starter Michael Penix Jr. would be the most logical stashes as Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen, who play on Monday night, are rostered in nearly every league.

Jackson began the week on the wrong side of questionable after spraining his ankle in Week 4 against the Titans. Ravens coach Jesse Minter has already said that Jackson doesn’t need to practice “much” in order to play. While some sort of limited session is still possible for today, it is unlikely, with Jackson skipping warmups. If he can get in a limited session tomorrow, he has a chance to play. Stay tuned.

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports Skyy Moore (ankle) was wearing a walking boot Wednesday.

Moore has been the Packers’ leading returner and third receiver since teammate Jayden Reed was placed on injured reserve. Moore hasn’t been much of a factor for fantasy managers, but if he were to miss time, Bo Melton would likely take over return duties, while rookie J. Michael Sturdivant could see additional snaps at receiver. The Packers face the Cowboys in Week 6.

Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Marvin Harrison Jr. will play in Week 6 against the Jaguars.

It’s a slightly short turnaround for MHJ, who was traded to the Texans on Sunday, and a weird travel schedule with Houston flying to London to take on the Jags. On the other hand, a week is still more than enough time to get Harrison Jr. installed at least as a part-time player. He isn’t much of a fantasy option this week, but a week or two of practice reps could get him in the FLEX mix if Houston proves to be a better fit for the former No. 4 overall pick.

Chargers activated KeAndre Lambert-Smith’s (hamstring) 21-day practice window.

The lanky downfield wide receiver could return to find himself seriously competing for a starting role. Lambert-Smith caught 5-of-12 targets for 51 yards and one touchdown as a rookie last year, yet drew praise from film analysts around the industry. The Chargers are desperate for offensive contributions. Lambert-Smith can be stashed in 14-team leagues, though his low odds of producing make him a tougher pickup in 12-team leagues.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said he expects Ladd McConkey (foot) to practice on Wednesday.

We, in turn, expect McConkey to be listed as a limited participant. An update will be provided if he practices in full. The Chargers’ No. 1 wide receiver was an emergency active last week, goose-egging in the box score. His early-week return to practice puts him on track to play in Week 6 against the Chiefs, but it would be great to see him practice in full by the end of the week.

Rashod Bateman was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

We won’t know what Bateman’s injury is until the Ravens drop their first injury report of Week 6 later today, but head coach Jesse Minter wasn’t worried. He downplayed the issue and told reporters he expects Bateman to play this week. Barring a setback, Bateman will remain a deep-cut FLEX option for Week 6 versus the Browns.

Minter confirmed that Jackson would not practice today. He did not practice once last week before being ruled out on Friday. Devonta Smith (hamstring) was seen working off to the side on Wednesday.

Smith could end up being listed as a limited participant, but this will likely result in a DNP. That said, the fact that he is out there working with the training staff is a good sign. Smith attempted to play through his hamstring injury back in Week 3, posting a 6/65 receiving line before apparently suffering a re-injury. He has not played since, but has a chance to suit up in Week 7 against the Panthers.

Saquon Barkley (hamstring) was not seen practicing on Wednesday.

Technically, a limited session is possible, but we expect to see Barkley listed as a non-participant since he skipped warmups. Barkley still has a chance to face the Panthers this week, but ideally, he would be out there right now, beginning his ramp-up period. Eagles RBs Dameon Pierce and Carson Steelers are on the active roster, while RB Jaydon Blue currently sits on the practice squad.

Josh Simmons (back) returned to practice Wednesday.

Simmons has been held out of practice for roughly two months while dealing with a bulging disc in his lower back. Kansas City’s starting left tackle has yet to play a snap this year while dealing with the back injury. Head coach Andy Reid said the team will “ease him back in, but on a limited basis.” There is currently no timetable for when Simmons will return. Undrafted Khalil Benson has been serviceable as the team’s starting left tackle, but Simmons will ultimately be a notable upgrade whenever he returns to action. Benson is still expected to start this week versus the Chargers.

Eagles activated LG Landon Dickerson’s (knee) 21-day practice window.

The Eagles desperately need offensive line health. Dickerson’s return cannot come soon enough. New Eagles C Drew Kendall (knee) was not seen practicing today, though Dickerson has officially resumed practicing in some capacity, which is great news. He was seen taking the field with his teammates this afternoon. The Eagles also opened DB Jakorian Bennett, TE Grant Calcaterra and TE Eli Stowers’ (hamstring/quad) practice windows.
