Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe) was not spotted at Chicago’s Tuesday practice.

The Bears elected to have a practice Tuesday, as they prepare for a MNF matchup with the Seahawks, so they won’t have an injury report until Thursday. This isn’t exactly a strong sign that Monangai won’t make it back this week, but it also isn’t good news for managers that would like to see him active.

We’d be floored if Monangai got on the questionable line on Saturday. He hasn’t played or practiced since Week 4. We’re still waiting for some kind of positive movement here. Roschon Johnson will likely be Chicago’s second-string back again in Week 8.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Monangai has yet to practice after sustaining thumb and toe injuries in Week 4, with the potential that he misses his fourth consecutive game a very real possibility. The Bears held a walkthrough Thursday ahead of a Monday Night Football showdown against the Seahawks, meaning Monangai will have two more opportunities to get on the practice field ahead of Week 8. Fantasy managers are likely best making alternate arrangements considering the timing of the team’s game.
  • CHI Running Back #25
D’Andre Swift will serve as the team’s top back, while Roschon Johnson rotates in behind him. Johnson’s Week 6 fumble could result in less playing time. The Bears face the Seahawks in Week 8. Monangai was unable to practice all week. Hopefully, he returns next week and can be on the field on game day. Keenum will serve as the emergency third quarterback today.

Monangai will miss his third game in a row this week. Exactly two weeks ago, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Monangai’s turf toe injury would be an issue for 1-2 weeks. Technically, his statement remains accurate. This week’s Thursday Night Football game complicates things. If the Bears thought Monangai would miss four games, they likely would have put him on injured reserve, so he should, theoretically, be able to play in Week 8 against the Seahawks. Of course, nothing is guaranteed, and for those wondering, the Bears go on bye in Week 10. D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson have been splitting touches with Monangai sidelined. We do not yet know if Johnson will be punished for last week’s fumble though.
  • CHI Running Back #25
He hasn’t practiced yet this week and appears very unlikely to go on Thursday night. It would seem to be trending towards another week with Roschon Johnson as the backup runner for the Bears.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Bears coach Ben Johnson said Monangai is “trending in the right direction,” but remains week-to-week. D’Andre Swift should handle a sizable workload with Monangai sidelined. Roschon Johnson may be able to catch a few passes, but he makes for a shaky FLEX bet. Monangai should be stashed safely on fantasy football benches.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Exactly one week ago, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Monangai’s turf toe injury jeopardized his availability over the next 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately, he is on the wrong side of questionable at this time. Roschon Johnson could contribute on passing downs if Monangai cannot play, but D’Andre Swift will handle the majority of the backfield touches this week.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Monangai missed Week 5 due to thumb and toe injuries; he did not practice all of last week and was estimated as a non-participant for the Bears’ Wednesday walk-through. A DNP listing after already missing a week is not a good sign for the 24-year-old’s availability. Starter D’Andre Swift (hip) was notably not on the injury report. Monangai will need to practice to have a chance to play but fantasy managers will need to start looking at backup Roschon Johnson as a potential fill-in for Week 6 against the Falcons.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Monangai is currently in a walking boot and is considered week-to-week, per head coach Ben Johnson. Monangai reportedly consulted a specialist for his turf toe after the injury was revealed to be worse than initially expected, but he is not considered a candidate for injured reserve at this time. Backup Roschon Johnson will be elevated to RB2 duties for the foreseeable future, but we wouldn’t expect him to see the same volume as Monangai, who has averaged 15 carries/gm through the Bears’ first four games.
  • CHI Running Back #4
We will get a better sense of Swift’s availability soon when the Bears release their final injury report of the week. After being a DNP in Wednesday’s practice, Swift was able to log a limited session on Thursday, which is a good sign for his availability with one practice left to go. Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe), who has yet to practice this week, could be at risk of missing Week 5, which could lead to a busy day for Swift, while Roschon Johnson would serve as the Bears’ RB2.

Dolphins claimed EDGE Jamree Kromah off waivers from the Bears.

You thought you could just sneak this guy through waivers, did you? Well the Miami Dolphins are going to claim him. They’ve got to look busy here as they try to find one or two front seven pieces that will still have jobs in two years. The 26-year-old Kromah is their latest attempt to find one of them.

Derwin James (hamstring) will not play in Week 8 against the Rams.

James reportedly suffered a setback with his hamstring injury, with the team now considering injured reserve. His absence is a big hit to their defense as a primary interior defender against the heavy personnel sets from the Rams, upgrading the matchup for Tyler Higbee and company.

Ladd McConkey (concussion) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 8 against the Rams.

McConkey’s concussion was always unlikely to hold him out for Week 8 with the team coming off their bye, with Friday’s injury report confirming that notion. The Chargers have under-performed offensive expectations more than any team through their first six games, leaving McConkey in the FLEX range for Week 8, a far cry from the WR2 range he was drafted in this offseason.

Treylon Burks (foot) is questionable for Washington’s Week 8 game against the Eagles.

The rare limited-DNP-limited injury report shows up here after Burks suffered a late foot injury in Week 6’s Monday night football. Burks probably is best considered truly questionable at this point. If he’s absent, it could help Antonio Williams get into the 80 percent snap range.

Tre’ Harris (hamstring) will play in Week 8 against the Rams.

Harris returns to the lineup after missing Week 6, with the team’s bye week providing enough time for the veteran receiver to get back to the active game-day roster. That doesn’t mean he should be inserted into fantasy lineups after such a slow start to the season.

Javon Kinlaw (knee) will not play in Washington’s Week 8 game against the Eagles.

He didn’t practice all week after Dan Quinn acknowledged it would be “tough” for him to play. An IR stint probably is in play on Saturday, if not, Kinlaw will probably start Week 9 on the questionable line.

Stefon Diggs (hand/hamstring) is not on Washington’s final Week 8 injury report.

He should be a mid-range WR3 with Terry McLaurin out of the picture in Washington. Diggs practiced in full each of the last two sessions of the week after a Wednesday DNP.

Carlton Davis (neck) is questionable for New England’s Week 8 game against the Dolphins.

It’s a bit of a surprise questionable because Davis got in three full practice sessions this week. Still, he is coming off a long-term neck injury that has sidelined him most of the year so we understand the Patriots being cautious here. We’d consider Davis on the optimistic side of questionable.
