A ten-point loss by the sixth-ranked Bears to No. 15 Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl probably sapped what interest the NFL had in Briles. Baylor was favored by three scores. He was loosely connected to the Redskins’ head-coaching vacancy. There were also reports the Texas Longhorns were interested in Briles.

While Quinn suggests the team will remain open to bringing back the future HOFer, he also adds that the team feels like there are “some players that are about to take off at [Wagner’s] position.” In addition to players like Frankie Luvu and Jordan Magee, the Commanders also went out and signed inside linebacker Leo Chenal this offseason. With Chenal expected to share starting duties with Luvu in the Commanders’ 3-4 defense, there leaves little room for Wagner, who could undoubtedly sign elsewhere as a starter. It seems highly unlikely Wagner will return to the Commanders next season.

Allen underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot, but two months post-op, the Bills’ QB1 appears to be in good shape. The Bills went out and traded for WR DJ Moore this offseason to give Allen a much-needed weapon in the passing game, and with Allen trending in the right direction, he should have plenty of time to build with Moore before training camp ramps up earlier this summer. Allen has finished as the QB1 in fantasy points per game in four of his last six seasons and projects as a high-end QB1 again this upcoming season.

The 10-year veteran has amassed 59 career starts across 131 appearances with six different franchises, most recently starting six games for the Saints in 2025 after notching 38 starts with the Vikings the previous three seasons. This has all the looks of a depth signing for a team that has gone to extra lengths to revamp their defensive line this offseason.

In an article by Detroit Football Network’s Justin Rogers, Decker provided his timeline of the events that led to him requesting his release earlier this month. Most notably, Decker, who will turn 33 in August, was irked when the Lions asked him to take a pay cut after he announced on social media that he was returning for next season during the NFL combine. Decker believes it was made clear in his exit interview days after the end of the regular season that the Lions wanted him back as the starting left tackle and that he wouldn’t take a pay cut. Once the Lions asked him to take a pay cut, he considered the idea only for a few minutes before rejecting it. Decker told Rogers his interpretation of the pay cut request was that it was the Lions’ way of telling him he’s not the guy anymore after 10 years of starting at left tackle in Detroit. Still unsigned, Decker is mentally ready and physically confident he can play another season, though it’s still unclear if he will play. If he does, Decker could find a new team in the post-draft wave of free agency.

Wolfe is standing by his report from February, in which he told viewers that they should not be surprised if the Browns abstain from drafting a quarterback this year. He believes that the Browns are likely to “supplement the offense” by spending their two first-round picks on a wide receiver and a left tackle this season before “maybe” drafting a quarterback next year. Per Wolfe, the Browns’ quarterback competition is between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, seemingly rendering Dillon Gabriel a locked-in backup.

The Falcons’ 2026 training camp dates have not yet been released. Last year’s training camp began on July 24th to August 13th. Wolfe somewhat casually broke the news while discussing the Falcons’ impending quarterback competition between Penix and QB Tua Tagovailoa. Penix underwent surgery to reconstruct a partially torn ACL after suffering the injury in November 2025. Tagovailoa will get to work with the first-team offense until Penix is ready to practice, which could give Tagovailoa an edge in the competition. It seems likely that both players will start at times during the regular season, perhaps warranting QB2 consideration.

It sounds like Wolfe believes the Dolphins will draft a developmental quarterback prospect to potentially compete with Willis after the 2026 season. The Dolphins are said to be all in on Willis this season and view him as a potential long-term starter. Perhaps tellingly, Wolfe refers to this year as “the rebuild.” Rolling the dice on a dual-threat quarterback while developing an intriguing prospect makes sense. If Willis pans out, great. If not, the Dolphins will already have another option in the works.

Madubuike played in Weeks 1 and 2 last year before being placed on injured reserve. Reports regarding Madubuike’s rehab have been tough to find. The injury was rumored to be career-threatening. It seems as though there is a chance that the 28-year-old defender will retake the field. Madubuike racked up 22 sacks in 2023 and 2024, earning two Pro Bowl nods and one second-team All-Pro placement. Getting Madubuike back in the lineup this season would be huge for the Ravens’ defense.

Cimini also believes the Jets do not feel “pressured” to draft a quarterback in 2026 because they have three first-round picks in 2027. That said, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, general manager Darren Mougey, OC Frank Reich and QB coach Bill Musgrave had dinner with Simpson last night and hosted him for a private workout today. The Jets hold the second, 16th, 33rd and 44th picks in this year’s draft. We certainly agree that the Jets have many needs, but finding a starting quarterback tops the list. Simpson could still end up in a Jets uniform next month.

Edmonds spent the 2025 season as a member of the Commanders’ practice squad. He logged just one offensive snap all year. Edmonds notably suffered a season-ending knee injury in August 2024. He spent the 2023 season with the Buccaneers, the 2022 season with the Broncos and the four seasons before that with the Cardinals, who drafted him in the 2018 NFL Draft’s fourth round. Edmonds is also exploring opportunities in broadcasting and acting. He is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant in 2026.
