Cardinals placed DL Rodney Gunter on injured reserve with a toe injury, ending his season.
Gunter had started each of the first 13 games of the season and was closing in on a career high in snaps. Playing on a one-year deal, Gunter turns 28 next month. He has spent his entire five-year career with the Cardinals.

Josina Anderson reports the market for free agent Alec Pierce “may be too much” for the Patriots, but that the 49ers “might pay it.”
Field-stretcher Pierce would be a strong fit in the Patriots’ offense, but they might believe he’s not enough of an upgrade on their current Kayshon Boutte/Mack Hollins tandem to justify more than $30 million per season. The 49ers, meanwhile, could be tired of waiting for former first-rounder Ricky Pearsall to stay healthy. Pierce is predictably generating wide interest after the Colts surprisingly let him reach the open market, but he is still most likely to end up with a cap-flushed, receiver-desperate team like the Titans.
TE Smith can regain fantasy value with right team
No longer part of an "ugly" fantasy situation with the Steelers, Denny Carter lays out why tight end Jonnu Smith could regain his fantasy "viability" with the right offense in 2026.
  • LV Cornerback #7
Raiders acquired Taron Johnson from the Bills in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.
The Bills announced on Friday that they would be releasing Johnson, who joined the team as a fourth-round pick in 2018. With that move not yet official, the team has now decided to trade Johnson to the Bills for a sixth-round pick while also sending a seventh-rounder of their own back to Vegas. Johnson is a former Second-team All-Pro who has played almost exclusively in the slot. The veteran corner earned a PFF coverage grade of 66.8 last season while allowing 34 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns on 51 targets. Johnson joins the Raiders with two years remaining on his deal and should help bolster a defense that ranked 25th in points allowed last season.
  • SEA Running Back #9
SNY’s Connor Hughes reports the Giants have been “priced out” of Kenneth Walker.
Walker was reportedly on the Giants’ “wish list” this offseason but the going rate on a contract extension simply got too high, with the prevailing feeling now one in which the Giants simply can’t come to terms with. Even so, the fact that the Giants are seriously pursuing running backs through free agency paints a dark picture regarding their level of enthusiasm in continuing forward with Cam Skattebo in a workhorse role. Stay tuned through the opening of the legal tampering period Monday as numerous fantasy-relevant situations are sure to change.
  • FA Tight End #80
SNY’s Connor Hughes reports the Giants are interested in TE Isaiah Likely in free agency.
The history between Likely and Giants head coach John Harbaugh makes this an easy one to connect. Harbaugh drafted Likely in the fourth-round of the 2022 NFL Draft and saw his selection quickly pay dividends. The soon-to-be free agent has caught 135 passes for 1,568 yards and 15 touchdowns in his four-year career and would make for a nice receiving threat for Jaxson Dart. Likely’s ability to play in the slot could also soften the blow of losing Wan’Dale Robinson, which seems likely as we approach the league’s legal tampering period. Likely should have a strong market in the coming days so it’s possible he shops around before landing with a new team.
  • DEN Tight End #45
Broncos signed TE Nate Adkins to a one-year contract.
The news comes less than an hour after the team announced it had signed fellow tight end Adam Trautman, with the top trio of Evan Engram, Trautman, and Adkins all returning for the 2026 season. Adkins managed just 245 offensive snaps a season ago but brings depth to a position of great importance to head coach Sean Payton’s offense. The financials of the deal were not yet made public.
  • DEN Offensive Lineman #77
Broncos restructured OG Quinn Meinerz’s contract.
According to beat writer Chris Tomasson, the restructuring of Meinerz’s deal will save about $11 million in cap space for the Broncos this upcoming season. The fifth-year lineman has appeared and started in 17 games each of the last three seasons and earned a career-high 90.9 PFF grade in 2025.
  • LAC Fullback #30
Chargers signed FB Alec Ingold to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.
Ingold was released by the Dolphins amidst their roster purge Friday, lasting only two days on the free agent market. The average annual value of his new deal keeps him as the highest-paid fullback in the league as he follows former head coach Mike McDaniel to Los Angeles.
  • HOU Defensive Tackle #91
Texans signed DT Naquan Jones to a one-year, $2 million contract.
The deal includes a maximum value of $2.5 million. The former undrafted free agent was claimed by the Texans from the Chargers late in the 2025 season and will now get the chance to prove his worth to an NFL roster with the new contract. Jones has made eight starts alongside 60 appearances during his five-year NFL career.
  • LA Cornerback
Rams signed CB Trent McDuffie to a four-year, $124 million contract extension.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the deal, which includes $100 million in guaranteed money. The two-time All-Pro becomes the highest-paid corner in NFL history and will now be under contract through the 2030 season. The Rams traded a bevy picks to the Chiefs last week, including a 2026 first-rounder, to acquire McDuffie, who totaled 63 tackles, one interception, and seven pass breakups last season before a knee injury prematurely ended his season. The Rams hope McDuffie, who will turn 26 shortly after the start of next season, will prove to be the missing piece they need to make a deep postseason run in the limited time they have left with Matthew Stafford under center.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports “momentum seems to have stalled” around A.J. Brown trade talk.
Speaking on NFL Network’s The Insiders, Garafolo hints at talks stalling between the Eagles and the Patriots, who have been most closely linked to any trade for the star receiver. Garafolo notes that the Eagles have attempted to get creative in managing negotiations, suggesting that the two sides agree to a “split deal” that would soften Brown’s 2026 salary cap hit. Needless to say, GM Howie Roseman’s attempts at creativity did not further discussions, leaving the Eagles and any potential suitors to wait and consider revisiting a trade later down the road. Brown carries a cap hit just under $24 million for this season and remains under contract through 2029.
