Justin Herbert completed 27-of-40 passes for 323 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in the Chargers’ 41-38 Week 10 loss to the Lions, adding 15 yards on four carries.
It’s hard to overstate how good this performance was from Herbert. He came into the game without Mike Williams and Josh Palmer and lost both Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett to injuries in the third quarter. While Keenan Allen was able to return, what Herbert did with minimal weapons against a Lions defense that had played solid defense all year was impressive. He consistently avoided pressure in the backfield and made some big throws on improvisational reads in addition to some well-schemed play action. He now has 2,349 yards and 17 touchdowns with just four interceptions in nine games this season. Herbert should be in for another big game against a banged-up Packers secondary next week.
