Giants signed FB Jakob Johnson to their active roster.
The Giants gave Johnson an extended look in their final preseason game but cut him at the roster deadline. He then landed on the team’s practice squad. With Daniel Jones being sacked five times in Week 1, Brian Daboll may see Johnson’s blocking as a necessity to protect his quarterback. The veteran fullback should also see some work on special teams.
  • MIA Safety #39

Dolphins agreed to terms with S Zayne Anderson, formerly of the Packers.
Anderson earned a 74.3 PFF special teams grade in the regular season, ranking fourth-best among Packers players with at least 100 qualifying snaps. He totaled eight special teams tackles and led the team with two fumble recoveries as well. Anderson contributes minimally as a coverage defender, but his presence gives new Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley a reliable leader on special teams.
Smith can be a floor raiser for Jets playmakers
Kyle Dvorchak unpacks Geno Smith's expected reunion with the New York Jets following an "utter disaster" in Las Vegas and the outlook for him as a potential floor raiser for playmakers.
  • NYG Tackle #73
    Giants re-signed OL Evan Neal.
  • HOU Tight End #87
Texans agreed to terms with TE Foster Moreau, formerly of the Saints.
The two sides were reportedly in discussions earlier in the day, with the Texans ultimately deciding Moreau was a good fit. He’ll join a roster with holdovers Dalton Schultz, Cade Stover, and Brevin Jordan, with Harrison Bryant also an unrestricted free agent. Moreau’s 2025 season ended on injured reserve due to an ankle injury after his 2024 season ended early due to a knee injury. Now entering his age-29 season, Moreau’s fantasy value is far from appealing in all formats.
  • BAL General Manager
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said he wanted to pair Maxx Crosby with Trey Hendrickson.
He added that the team started contract talks with Hendrickson after the team lost center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency. For those out of the loop: Baltimore agreed to trade two first-round picks for Crosby earlier this week, only to back out of the deal at the last minute, citing a failed physical. They then inked Hendrickson to a four-year deal just over 12 hours later. Multiple reports have suggested NFL staffers around the league found the series of moves detestable. Given that Crosby underwent offseason meniscus surgery, DeCosta does have a reasonable alibi for calling off the trade. Now Baltimore will move forward with Hendrickson and their full allotment of first-round selections over the next two drafts.
  • DEN Defensive End #91
Broncos re-signed DE Matt Henningsen to a one-year contract.
Henningsen appeared in all 34 games for the Broncos in 2022 and 2023 before spending 2024 on the practive squad and missing the entirety of the 2025 season with an Achilles injury. He has not made a professional start and has notched just 40 total tackles, making the signing a pure depth move at present. The financials of the deal were not immediately made available.
  • JAC Running Back #36
Jaguars agreed to terms with RB Chris Rodriguez, formerly of the Commanders, on a two-year contract.
Rodriguez was a restricted free agent and the Commanders chose not to tender him. That Rodriguez locked in a two-year deal right after the official start of free agency suggests the Commanders should have considered keeping him around. For now, Rodriguez is set to split the Jacksonville backfield with Bhayshul Tuten. The Jags will likely give Tuten first crack at the starting gig, but both backs will be involved barring another addition. Rodriguez profiles as the traditional meat and potatoes grinder, with Tuten in charge of home runs and pass-catching duties. Rodriguez will likely open early fantasy drafts as an RB4.
  • FA Quarterback #11
The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports Carson Wentz is “unlikely” to sign with the Jets as of now.
SNY’s Connor Hughes adds that Wentz has “options outside NYJ.” It’s time to really kick this free agency period into overdrive with a Carson Wentz bidding war. It’s what the people want.
  • ARI Safety #42
Cardinals signed S Andrew Wingard, formerly of the Jaguars, to a one-year, $4 million contract.
Wingard’s contract includes a $3 million base salary. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Jaguars in 2019. Wingard, 29, started for the Jaguars last season, compiling the second-most solo tackles (64) and tying for the fourth-most pass breakups (four). He intercepted one pass.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said he is still hopeful the Ravens can reach a contract extension with Lamar Jackson.
Getting Lamar Jackson to actually sign a contract extension feels like a big ask given they’ve been trying to do it since last offseason, but DeCosta said the restructuring of his deal “doesn’t change his optimism or the difficulty around Lamar signing long term.” We’re in “believe it when we see it” mode with this extension, but the Ravens (of course) will continue to be overwhelmingly optimistic publicly.
  • ATL Offensive Lineman #62
Falcons agreed to terms with OL Corey Levin, formerly of the Titans, on a one-year contract.
Levin has made just seven starts across 88 appearances in his six-year NFL career. Now entering his age-32 season after being out of the league in 2019 and 2020, Levin appears to be a back-end depth addition on yet another prove-it deal.
