Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Commanders have “plans to attempt to try to practice Daniels on Friday.” We’ll see how that goes, but the rookie quarterback’s Week 8 availability looks “very much in doubt,” according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport earlier in the week. It seems unlikely Daniels will play against the Bears, but the Commanders will give him every chance to do so. If he can’t go, it will be Marcus Mariota starting under center for the first time this season.

Borom started a career-high 11 games for the Dolphins last season, earning a PFF blocking grade of 67.1 while allowing just 15 sacks and two pressures. All of his snaps came at right tackle, but he has experience at both tackle positions. It’s possible this will turn out to be more of a depth signing, but Borom could have a chance to compete for the starting left tackle spot with Giovanni Manu currently be listed in that spot.

He’ll remain the backup behind Jayden Daniels in Washington. Mariota runs enough to remain a stable backup and superflex QB2 when he is on the field. Things will change a bit in Washington in 2026 without Kliff Kingsbury, but Mariota is in a decent spot to find work behind Daniels and it’s a worthwhile investment for the Commanders.

A 2022 third-round pick of the Cardinals, Thomas ended up in Cleveland following a brief sojourn with the Chiefs. He notched 2.5 sacks in Cleveland last season. Seemingly maxed out as a 300-snap pass-rushing specialist, Thomas is headed into his age-26 campaign.

$42 million is fully guaranteed as the Titans continue to spend heavily on their defense in Day 1 of free agency. They’ve added Cordale Flott and Taylor to the cornerback room. Taylor’s ideal fit is in the slot, but he has worked outside at times for the Saints and his role in Tennessee is probably dependent on what happens with former free-agent bust L’Jarius Sneed. Flott and Taylor will try to repair Tennessee’s pass defense under new head coach Robert Saleh.

A 2022 UDFA of the Eagles, Jobe arrived in Seattle in 2024, taking on a bigger role on defense. That culminated in 15 2025 starts, not including the team’s Super Bowl run. Jobe is not a particularly effective corner, but he is now an experienced one. Ideally a No. 3, Jobe can stay on the field for every snap when needed.

Dobbins was on pace for a career-year in Denver before a foot injury sidelined him for the final seven games of the regular season. In 10 games, Dobbins rushed 153 times for 772 yards and four touchdowns while adding another 11-37-0 through the air. When healthy, the 27-year-old running back was unquestioned RB1, earning 28 percent of the team’s backfield opportunities compared to RJ Harvey’s 13 percent, while also handling 57 percent of the team’s carries. His return undoubtedly puts a cap on Harvey’s rushing upside entering next season, but Harvey should retain some value as a pass-catcher and remains a high-end handcuff while playing behind a player with a lengthy injury history.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said this makes Kolar “the NFL’s highest-paid blocking tight end.” We’re not sure that’s something that can be officially verified, but it does pass the smell test. As many former Ravens have done, Kolar now goes from playing under John Harbaugh in Baltimore to Jim Harbaugh in LA. With the Chargers also signing Alec Ingold today, it’s clear Mike McDaniel is picking the guys he needs to run his offense. Kolar only caught 10 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns last year. He isn’t a fantasy factor, but he could take the field enough to stifle a breakout from Oronde Gadsden.

It’s the first step towards fixing Cincinnati’s defense in free agency. Cook will pair with Jordan Battle to be the safety pairing for the Bengals in 2026. Cook is coming off a career year in 2025, with an 83.2 PFF coverage grade that was well above what he’d done in his first three seasons. He’ll look to continue rolling as he enters his age-27 season under new defensive coordinator Al Golden.

He has three career picks, earning decent enough coverage marks from Pro Football Focus. Still only 24 years old, it’s possible Flott discovers another level to his game under new defensive-minded Titans head coach Robert Saleh.

The deal reportedly includes $11 million guaranteed. Two months shy of his 30th birthday, Key is something of a journeyman who spent the past three seasons in Nashville. Indianapolis will be his sixth different NFL home. A rotational pass rusher good for a yearly 4-6 sacks, Key should be in for 500-600 snaps in Indy.
