The Auburn product has struggled mightily not only in 2022, but for the entirety of the 2021-22 season. However, if there was ever a course and tournament for him to return to form, it is this week at the Champion Course for the Honda Classic.
As this will be Jason Dufner’s 14th appearance in the Honda Classic and 13th at PGA National. 11-for-11 making the cut as he MDF’d in 2019, the 44-year-old will hope the good vibes of Palm Beach Gardens will translate to his game. Arriving having missed 4-of-6 cuts on the PGA Tour this season and 5-of-7 worldwide, the 44-year-old’s steady tee-to-green game has vanished. With two top-20 finishes and a top-30 result in his last five outings on the Fazio design, Dufner has developed a nice sense of comfort around the property. In fact, dating back to 2007, the debut for tournament host PGA National, Dufner has posted greater than +3.00 Strokes Gained: Putting six-times on these greens. Never one to impress with the putter in hand, this should provide Dufner with plenty of confidence heading into the Honda Classic.
