Andres Romero is among the slew of players who have removed their names from the field ahead of this week’s 3M Open. The next alternate, Duffy Waldorf, will fill the spot.
The 41-year-old from Argentina originally got into the field when Lanto Griffin withdrew earlier on Monday, but Romero has since removed his name as well. Other field changes on Monday include withdrawals from Chad Ramey, Michael Kim, Sangmoon Bae, Charles Howell III, Mark Hubbard and Erik van Rooyen. Taking their spots, respectively, are Charlie Beljan, Jason Bohn, Derek Lamely, Parker McLachlin, Eric Axley and John Huston. Bae and Kim are playing this week’s Korn Ferry Tour event, at the Price Cutter Charity Championship, while van Rooyen is presumably still out with the same neck injury that forced him to withdraw from The Open. Romero is playing on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica circuit this season and where he’s made four cuts in six starts. He’s made three PGA Tour starts this season, missing the cut in all three including easier this month at the Barbasol Championship.
