Leon Draisaitl posted a four-point night to help the Oilers finally come out of their early 2022 slump. He had two goals and two assists in this matchup, including the game-winning tally. He now has 28 goals and 58 points in 37 games played. Draisaitl leads the league in points. Evan Bouchard also nabbed a pair of goals in this matchup for the Oilers. Brendan Perlini was the only other Edmonton player to find the back of the net.

In net for the Oilers, Mikko Koskinen had his best game of the season. He faced a lot of pressure in this game, as the Flames levied 47 shots on net. Koskinen made 44 saves on those 47 attempts to post a save percentage of .936. On January 20th in a game against the Florida Panthers, Koskinen allowed six goals on 28 shots. Thus, this matchup against the Flames was a great redemption game for the 33-year-old netminder.

On the other end of the ice, Noah Hanifin had a three-point night. His one goal and two assists meant that he was a component of every Calgary score in this matchup. In net for the Flames, Jacob Markstrom made 26 saves on 30 shots for a save percentage of .867.

PHILADELPHIA 3 BUFFALO 6

Jeff Skinner opened scoring 1:29 after puck drop. His goal was assisted by Alex Tuch and Dylan Cozens.

Just under ten minutes later, Rasmus Ristolainen tied the game up with his second goal of the season. This score was assisted by Travis Sanheim.

Claude Giroux gave the Flyers their first lead 12:44 into the first. His goal was assisted by Ivan Provorov and Cam Atkinson.

Tage Thompson then scored two consecutive power play goals, just 24 seconds apart. The assists on the first goal were credited to Alex Tuch and Jeff Skinner. For the second goal, Rasmus Dahlin logged the sole assist.

Peyton Krebs made the score 4-2, as he secured his first goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Henri Jokiharju and Mark Jankowski.

Jeff Skinner scored his second of the night on the power play 4:36 into the third. His goal was assisted by Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson.

For the Flyers, Martin Jones was pulled after 18 minutes. During his time in the crease he allowed four goals on eight shots. Carter Hart entered the game in relief. Hart allowed two additional goals on 16 shots to post a save percentage of .875.

For Buffalo, Michael Houser made 30 saves on 33 shots and ended his night with a save percentage of .909.

WINNIPEG 2 BOSTON 3

Jansen Harkins was the first player on the board, as he scored 2:46 into the first period. His goal was assisted by Dominic Toninato.

Oskar Steen tied the game up 1-1 11:37 into the first. Charlie Coyle and Jake DeBrusk logged assists on the play.

With just under 30 seconds remaining in the opening period, Andrew Copp helped Winnipeg regain their lead. Mark Scheifele logged the sole assist.

In the second, Charlie Coyle tied the game up once again. Derek Forbort notched the lone assist on Coyle’s goal.

In the third, David Pastrnak scored the game-winner on the power play. His goal was assisted by Matt Grzelcyk and Brad Marchand.

For the Jets, Connor Hellebuyck made 29 saves on 32 shots for a save percentage of .906.

For Boston, Tuukka Rask allowed two goals on 24 shots for a save percentage of .917.


CAROLINA 4 NEW JERSEY 7

This was the highest-scoring matchup Saturday night. For the Hurricanes, Andrei Svechnikov, Ian Cole, Josh Leivo, and Brady Skjei all scored a goal each. Vincent Trocheck, Brendan Smith, Martin Necas, Andrei Svechnikov, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Tony DeAngelo, Derek Stepan, and Josh Leivo all logged an assist each.

For the Devils, Nathan Bastian had two goals on the night. His first goal was assisted by Ryan Graves and Janne Kuokkanen. His second was assisted by Ryan Graves and Michael McLeod.

Michael McLeod got a goal of his own 08:47 into the second. His goal was assisted by Andreas Johnsson and P.K. Subban.

Andreas Johnsson scored 11:16 into the second. Dawson Mercer and Pavel Zacha earned assists on the play.

Jesper Bratt logged a goal with under two minutes remaining in the second. Yegor Sharangovich and Ryan Graves earned assists on Bratt’s goal. This would go on to be the game-winner.

In the third, Jack Hughes scored a power play goal. This play was assisted by Damon Severson and Nico Hischier.

Pavel Zacha closed scoring 13:55 into the third. Dawson Mercer and Andreas Johnsson earned assists on the play.

For the Hurricanes, Jack LaFontaine made 31 saves on 38 shots for a save percentage of .816.

The Rangers had a high-scoring night in this game. Chris Kreider logged a hat trick. Jacob Trouba picked up a pair of goals. Artemi Panarin and Julien Gauthier notched a goal each. Mika Zibanejad ended the night with three assists. Adam Fox had a pair of helpers. Jacob Trouba, Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome, Kevin Rooney, Chris Kreider, Dryden Hunt, and K’Andre Miller all tallied an assist each.

The Coyotes scored goals courtesy of Clayton Keller, Andrew Ladd and Liam O’Brien. Nick Schmaltz, Shayne Gostisbehere, Riley Nash, Loui Eriksson, Christian Fischer, and Travis Boyd all picked up an assist each.

For the Coyotes, Karel Vejmelka allowed six goals on 20 shots during an ice time of 41:33. Scott Wedgewood completed the game and allowed an additional goal after facing seven total shots.

For New York, Igor Shesterkin made 26 saves on 29 shots to post a save percentage of .897.

OTTAWA 2 WASHINGTON 3 OT

Thomas Chabot opened scoring 1:22 into the first. His goal was assisted by Austin Watson and Nick Paul.

In the second, Zach Sanford put Ottawa up 2-0. His goal was assisted by Alex Formenton.

In the third, Alex Ovechkin notched two consecutive goals to tie the game up 2-2. His first was assisted by Trevor van Riemsdyk and Evgeny Kuznetsov. Nicklas Backstrom logged the sole assist on the second goal.

During additional minutes, Nicklas Backstrom came out with an unassisted game-winner.

For the Senators, Matt Murray allowed three goals on 33 shots for a save percentage of .909.

For Washington, Vitek Vanecek made 20 saves on 22 shots and ended his night with a save percentage of .909.

MONTREAL 2 COLORADO 3 OT

Alex Newhook opened scoring 8:20 into the first on the power play. His goal was assisted by Samuel Girard and Devon Toews.

In the second, Valeri Nichushkin scored a power play goal to put the Avalanche up 2-0. His goal was assisted by Samuel Girard and Devon Toews.

Artturi Lehkonen got Montreal on the board 18:17 into the second. Nick Suzuki and Tyler Toffoli earned assists on the play.

In the third, Nick Suzuki got a goal of his own to tie the game at 2-2. His goal came on the power play and was assisted by Christian Dvorak and Mike Hoffman.

In overtime, Gabriel Landeskog scored the game-winner for Colorado. Valeri Nichushkin and Devon Toews earned assists on the play.

For the Canadiens, Cayden Primeau made 43 saves on 46 shots for a save percentage of .935.

For Colorado, Darcy Kuemper allowed two goals on 30 shots and ended his night with a save percentage of .933.

TORONTO 3 NEW YORK 1

Mitch Marner opened scoring with a short-handed goal. His goal came 13:25 into the first and was assisted by Morgan Rielly.

Zach Parise logged the only Islanders goal of the night with a minute remaining in the opening period. Scott Mayfield earned an assist on the play.

Pierre Engvall put the Leafs up 2-1 with a goal scored one second before the end of the first. His goal was unassisted.

In the second, Morgan Rielly put the Leafs up 3-1. His goal was assisted by William Nylander and Alexander Kerfoot.

For the Maple Leafs, Petr Mrazek made 27 saves on 28 shots for a save percentage of .964.

For New York, Semyon Varlamov allowed three goals on 23 shots and ended his night with a save percentage of .870.

DETROIT 1 NASHVILLE 4

Nick Cousins opened scoring 12:46 into the first on the power play. His goal was assisted by Philip Tomasino and Mattias Ekholm.

Matt Duchene put the Predators up 2-0 with a goal scored 14:21 into the first. The assists on this score were credited to Filip Forsberg and Matt Tennyson.

Adam Erne notched the only Detroit goal of this game 18:51 into the first.Tyler Bertuzzi and Marc Staal earned assists on the play.

In the third, Filip Forsberg put Nashville up 3-1. His goal was assisted by Matt Tennyson and Matt Duchene.

Late in the third, Matt Duchene ended the night with an unassisted empty-netter.

For the Red Wings, Alex Nedeljkovic made 21 saves on 24 shots for a save percentage of .875.

For Nashville, Juuse Saros barely missed out on a shutout. He allowed just one goal on 29 shots for a save percentage of .966.

CHICAGO 3 MINNESOTA 4 OT

Henrik Borgstrom kicked off the scoring in this game 9:51 into the first. Erik Gustafsson logged the sole assist on this goal.

Alex DeBrincat put the Blackhawks up 2-1 17:07 into the first. His power play goal was assisted by Seth Jones and Dylan Strome.

Joel Eriksson Ek got Minnesota on the board with a power play goal, scored 19:30 into the first. Mats Zuccarello and Jared Spurgeon were credited with assists on the play.

In the third, Kirill Kaprizov tied the game up 2-2 with a power play goal. His goal was assisted by Mats Zuccarello and Jared Spurgeon.
