Kanada

Kanada has played a pretty heavy schedule this year, so he is probably just taking some time off.

Kanada’s card an eagle, six birdies and a bogey on the final hole of the day. Kanada played very well at the start of the 2007, but a slump in the second half of the season left him 128th on last year’s Money List. He has played in the Buick Invitational four previous times and his best finish was last year with a T-20.

Kanada has played on a slightly limited schedule this year, but he has made eight of his 11 cuts this season with two Top 25 finishes. This will be his first time playing in the AT&T National.

Kanada played his opening round in 9-over-par 79 and after the round he withdrew. Tournament Officials couldn’t give a reason for his withdrawal.

Kanada was the 3rd alternate when the field was released on Friday. Stuck with conditional status, he’s making the most of his starts in 2008, cashing in seven of nine events. He’s played in three Travelers, finishing T-75 a year ago.

Kanada played well at the start of last season, but a very nasty slump in the second half of the year dropped him to 128th on the Money List. His best finish at the Shell Houston Open was last year, when he finished tied for 34th place.

It’s been a tough year for Kanada, but he has made two of his last three cuts on the Tour. He did play in last year’s inaugural Fry.com, but he missed the cut.

Kanada has been is a slump recently, but he did make cut at the Viking Classic and finished in a tie for 63rd place.

It’s been a rough second half of the season for Kanada, with made cuts in only two of his last nine starts on the Tour. He did play last year at the Disney and finished in a tie for 26th place.

Kanada posted his first career top-10 on tour in his 59th start. The top-10 came more than 15 years since his first tour start as an amateur at the 1991 Centel Western Open. Coming into the season, Kanada had career earnings of $159,508 and earned nearly that much at the Sony ($130,000). He is in this week’s field for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
