The 26-year-old Gale made nine birdies and one bogey in an 8-under round of 63 to tie with Rick Lamb atop the leaderboard. Also earning their spots in the field this week at TPC Twin Cities are Chris Naegel and Andre Metzger, who advanced in a 4-for-2 playoff. Gale, who has played the Australasian Tour since 2018, has two runner-up finishes in 2022, finishing solo second in the Queensland PGA Championship and T-2 in the TPS Victoria. He has one Australasian Tour victory, winning the 2018 SP PNG Golf Open. “Stoked – it’s going to be my first PGA Tour start, looking forward to getting out there and getting amongst it,” said Gale in a social media post after his round Monday.
