Two feet and 10 inches stood between Nelly Korda and her first ever U.S Women’s Open win.
Twelve U.S Women’s Opens and one near-miss of a putt later, Korda secured what she has been chasing since 2013. This is Korda’s second major win this year and fourth overall in her career.
“Just a dream,” Korda said on her win. “It’s such an iconic golf course, event. I mean, it was in immaculate condition, so thank you guys. Just a dream to win here. You know, the golf course holds so much history, and to have my name alongside so many great champions is a dream come true.”
Nelly Korda claimed her first-ever U.S Women’s Open win, along with $2.5 million dollar prize on Sunday afternoon.
The 2026 U.S Women’s Open had a record-breaking $12.5 million purse. See below for how that purse is divided up among players.

Korda gets a well-timed birdie on Hole 17 and heads into the last hole at -8, putting her at the top of the leaderboard.
In a clutch move, Gaby Lopez sinks her last putt on 18, securing the birdie and moving up to share the lead with Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and In Gee Chun.

Charley Hull, In Gee Chun and Nelly Korda currently share the lead at -7.
Maria Jose Marin just missed a putt on Hole 18, which means Kiara Romero officially claims the low amateur title at this year’s open.
“This course is set up really hard for a Sunday round,” Romero said. “I just did my best to kind of put myself in the best position to make these birdies out here. Honestly I felt like there was no pressure out there to do anything. Kind of just went out there with nothing to lose.”
The two top amateurs both sit at -3. Marin Jose has one hole left, will she overtake Romero in that time?
Everyone’s battling the wind on the back nine.
Lopez, In Gee Chun, Sei Young Kim and Nelly Korda are all sharing the lead at -7.
Kiara Romero currently leads the low amateurs.

Playing in her third consecutive Women’s Open, the amateur shot a 5 under 66 in Round 3.
Talley’s score on Saturday tied the 2nd-lowest round in a U.S. Women’s Open by an amateur in any round and tied for the lowest round ever in a U.S. Women’s Open by a teenager.
She’ll surely be looking to continue her strong performance today.
Korda, whose best U.S Open finish was a tie for second last year at Erin Hills, said on Saturday that her takeaway from 2025 was that she wanted to put herself in that close position more often.
“I think last year I really, really wanted it, and the more you want it, sometimes the more you stiffen up and you get a little bit more nervous,” Korda said. “I play my best golf when I’m happy, free Nelly, and I’m kind of joking around out there. So that’s kind of the attitude that I’m going to have tomorrow.”
She added that she’s tried to adopt a mindset shift heading into this year’s open.
“I’ve tried to have the attitude of instead of saying, ‘I’m screwed in this position, oh, here we go again,’ I’m just going to embrace the challenges and I’m not going to walk off the golf course, I’m just going to figure it out,” Korda said. “That’s kind of been my attitude this year is no matter what it throws at me…I’ll figure it out. And that’s kind of been the attitude I’ve tried to change to, because I think the worst thing that you can be — but which I am still — is a perfectionist in this sport.”
