Parziale won last year’s Mid-Amateur Championship in October to earn his seat in this week’s big event. This amateur was a three-time All-American while playing at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida (2006 to 2009). He tried his hand at the mini-tours but had to put an end to that dream after nothing came to fruition after three years. Now a full-time firefighter in Brockton, Massachusetts, Parziale has taken a leave of absence to prepare for this event and avoid injury. At the 2017 Masters we saw the Mid-Amateur Champ (Stewart Hagestad) become the first Mid-Am to make the cut at the Masters en route to low amateur honors. Parziale would love to match that feat this week in Augusta, Georiga.
