Travelers Championship heads to Monday playoff between Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland

The Travelers Championship is heading to the sixth playoff of the PGA Tour season featuring Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland, who went toe-to-toe in a white-knuckle final round at TPC River Highlands.

The final round was suspended late on the back nine after dangerous weather conditions blanketed Cromwell, CT. Following the 83-minute delay, Scheffler and Hovland would not give an inch, with Collin Morikawa watching in the clubhouse just one back of the leaders.

Both players faced birdie chances on the 18th hole. With Hovland tapping in his par, Scheffler needed eight feet to force the playoff. The world No. 1 delivered, avoiding his first three-putt of the tournament in clutch fashion to remain square at 21-under.

Scheffler is looking for his first win since The American Express, while Hovland seeks his first victory since last year’s Valspar Championship. Their heavyweight bout will be decided tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock, NBCSN, and Golf Channel.
