Cowboys selected Michigan LB Jaishawn Barnham with the No. 92 overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Barham (6’3/240) is an explosive hybrid front-seven defender who generated 11 havoc plays, eight tackles for loss and four sacks while splitting time between off-ball and edge alignments. His pass-rush efficiency pops with 23 pressures on just 146 rushes with a strong 17.4 percent third-down pressure rate that reflects situational impact. Barham’s 2.88 time-to-first-pressure underscores his burst and twitch, traits further supported by elite testing numbers including a 4.64 forty and 10’03” broad jump (both 93rd percentile marks) at 240 pounds for an 8.83 RAS. Against the run, he posted a solid 88.2 percent tackle rate with seven run stops, though his lighter frame points to more of a pursuit-based role than a true edge setter. His tweener profile shows up in inconsistent block recognition and play control, as he can overrun fits and struggle to anchor versus size. Barham projects as a sub-package weapon where his plus athletic profile and pressure efficiency can be leveraged to maximum effect.

Former South Carolina four-star 2022 LB Jaishawn Barham signed with Maryland.
This is a rather interesting development, as Barham (6'3/230) had just committed to the Gamecocks less than a week ago, only to pull a swerve by signing with Maryland early on National Signing Day. The Baltimore native is considered the eighth linebacker and 108th overall player from the 2022 prep cycle according to 247Sports who is graded at a strong .9543 rating according to the 247Sports composite ranks. He had taken three official visits to Penn State, Oklahoma and South Carolina, but Maryland HC Mike Locksley was able to sell the talented linebacker on the virtues of staying close to home.

South Carolina received a verbal commitment from four-star 2022 LB Jaishawn Barham.
Barham (6'3"/230) is a huge get for the Gamecocks, as he’s the eighth highest ranked LB in the country and the third ranked player from Maryland. He had offers from other top schools like Penn State, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan but has chosen to go south. Barham has been a guy on college radars for years, and his recruitment is expected to finally end Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Uncommitted four-star 2022 LB Jaishawn Barham says Penn State, Florida, South Carolina, and Maryland have been “talking to (him) a lot.”
Barham is a top-50 prospect, per Rivals, so he would be a huge commit for any of these four schools. Barham (6'3/230) is a Maryland native, meaning the hometown Terps could have an advantage, but the other three programs are a step above Maryland in terms of on-field product. One tidbit Barham mentioned was that he has been communicating a bit with running back Marshawn Lloyd at South Carolina, who signed with the program back in 2020 and is from the state of Maryland like Barham.
