Petricka

Petricka latched on with the Twins on a minor league contract back in late March and didn’t end up making it to the big leagues this season in Minnesota. The 34-year-old veteran righty, who made seven relief appearances last year for the Angels, posted a 4.18 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (21 appearances) for Triple-A St. Paul.

Petricka allowed 10 earned runs over just six innings of work last season for the Angels. The 33-year-old right-hander will function as organizational bullpen depth for Minnesota leading into 2022.

Petricka was signed out of Indy Ball back in June and wound up making seven relief appearances for the Angels before being designated for assignment last week. The 33-year-old righty will remain with the Angels organization for the remainder of the season.

Petricka surrendered 10 earned runs over six innings (seven appearances) during his three-week stay in the Angels’ bullpen. The 33-year-old will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

The right-hander is a seven-year veteran who has not pitched in the major leagues since 2019 with the Brewers. Petricka was singed back on June 5 from the High Point Rockers in the Independent Atlantic League.

Petricka, 33, last appeared in the majors with the Brewers back in 2019. He’ll report to Triple-A Salt Lake and function as organizational relief depth for the Angels, but could wind up in their major-league bullpen at some point later this summer.

Petricka has been at the team’s alternate training site all season. The Jays also added Orelvis Martinez to their 60-man player pool.

Petricka, 31, spent most of last season at the Triple-A level, posting a 3.38 ERA over six appearances during his brief time with the Brewers. The veteran reliever will compete for a bullpen job in Toronto.

Petricka has been terrific at the Triple-A level this season but holds a 5.22 ERA in the majors over the last three years. He’ll go to Triple-A Nashville.

Petricka was designated for assignment by the Brewers last week to open up a roster spot for Gio Gonzalez. The right-hander had given up three runs on six hits and six walks in eight innings of relief with Milwaukee.
