Jeff Reed will play this week despite a minor rib injury.
He successfully kicked two long field goals after injuring himself on a tackle during the final preseason game. It’s nothing to worry about.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Steelers kicker Jeff Reed has nailed 17 straight field goals.
He’s a good option at the end of fantasy playoff drafts.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Jeff Reed is seeking a contract extension.
He’s a restricted free agent and will probably play under a one-year tender. After a good season, however, Pittsburgh could lock him up long term.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Pittsburgh Jeff Reed expects to improve after undergoing hip surgery in the offseason.
Reed was excellent as a rookie, then struggled badly while in pain last year. You could do worse than to pick Reed as your kicker in the last round of your fantasy draft.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Jeff Reed connected on field goals of 43 and 48 yards last night.
He was also 3-for-3 on extra point attempts. Last year Reed hit only 13-of-19 attempts from 40-49 yards, so last night’s performance is a great sign for Reed, who expected to improve after offseason hip surgery.

The Chargers are reportedly interested in kickers Jeff Reed and Nick Novak to replace Nate Kaeding, who was lost for the year in Week 1.
Earlier today we heard they were eyeing Dave Rayner as well. Whoever San Diego ends up signing will draw some fantasy consideration in the Chargers’ dynamic offense.

The agent for K Jeff Reed is hoping to re-start long-term contract talks with the Steelers on June 1.
The agent seems genuinely optimistic that the Steelers want to retain his client for the long haul. Otherwise, Reed will collect $2.814 million in 2010.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Free agent K Jeff Reed wants to return to the NFL.
Reed hasn’t kicked in a game since 2010 when he made 24-of-32 field goals in 14 games with the Steelers and 49ers. The longtime Steelers kicker is still just 35 and owns an 82.2 career success rate on field goals. He says he’s spoken with ex-Steelers OC Ken Whisenhunt and the Titans about a potential workout.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
Steelers signed kicker Jeff Reed to a five-year, $7.5 million contract, with a $1.5 million signing bonus.
Kickers have historically struggled at Hines Field, but Reed kicked quite well last season. Since the Steelers offense doesn’t rack up points, he’s still not an exciting option at kicker.
  • FA Kicker (FG)
The Steelers made the rare move of tendering restricted free agent kicker Jeff Reed at the middle level. ($1.43 million)
This ensures Reed will stay with the team in 2005. They are still looking to lock him up long-term.
