Dohy

Dohy signed a minor league contract with the Phillies over the winter and went on to post a rough 7.41 ERA across 17 innings of relief this season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 25-year-old southpaw has logged only one career appearance at the major league level.

Dohy had been non-tendered but was immediately brought back as a non-roster pitcher. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut this past October and worked a scoreless inning of relief.

Dohy holds a 2.95 ERA with a 65/28 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season. He’ll give the Phillies’ short-handed bullpen some additional depth ahead of Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Dohy was added to the 40-man roster over the winter but is back off it now. The 24-year-old left-hander has a career 3.89 ERA and 238 strikeouts (along with 121 walks) in 155 career minor league innings.

Medina easily represents the highest-profile of the seven subtractions from Phillies’ camp. The 24-year-old right-hander made his big-league debut last year and has thrown two scoreless frames this spring. He’ll likely open the year at the team’s alternate training site before moving to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The 24-year-old southpaw struggled during the 2019 season, posting a 5.32 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 105/59 K/BB ratio across 67 2/3 innings. He ended the year on a high-note though, compiling a 0.82 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and 22/5 K/BB mark in 11 innings during the Arizona Fall League. He’s now protected from being taken in the Rule-5 draft.
