Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Bellamy (5'9/190) was a first-team All-MAC performer each of his final two years at WMU and took part in the East-West Shrine Bowl back in January. He plays with real, palatable speed -- the 4.50-second 40 was actually pretty quiet by his standards -- with vision and size among the more problematic aspects in his evaluation. Should he land in the draft, that won’t come until Day 3.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Bellamy (5'9/190) earned first team all-MAC honors in each of his final two seasons at Western Michigan, rushing for 1,472 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2019. Having reportedly run a 4.28 40-yard dash before the season began, the speedy running back is projected to be an early Day 3 prospect by some draft analysts. What will be interesting to watch in the Shrine Bowl is how big of a threat can Bellamy be in the passing game. After catching 30 passes in 2018, he caught just 15 this season. If he can show some improvement there, that would likely help his draft prospects.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy rushed for 60 yards on 18 carries in Monday’s 23-20 loss to Western Kentucky in the ServPro First Responders Bowl.
Bellamy (5'9/190) fell 28 yards short of 1,500 for the season, as Western Kentucky managed to limit him to 3.3 yards per carry. The redshirt senior, who also caught one pass for two yards, finishes his final season at WMU with 1,472 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns on 266 carries. According to Western Michigan, the MAC Offensive Player of the Year ran a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash back in June and that speed will be his calling card as he looks to earn a shot in the NFL. Bellamy was a first team all-MAC selection in both 2018 and 2019, and he’s been given a fourth-round grade by Pro Football Network.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy ran the ball 21 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Tuesday’s 17-14 loss to Northern Illinois.
With most of this game being played in inclement weather, Bellamy (5'9/190) had to step up for the Broncos, even after a minor knee injury that took him out for a drive early in the contest. Bellamy wasn’t always able to string together consistent gains, but his 55-yard sprint and 16-yard score early in the fourth were two huge plays for an offense that didn’t have many other big plays. Alas, Bellamy’s efforts didn’t prove to be enough and the Broncos finished the year at 7-5. This loss drops Western Michigan out of 1st place in the MAC West, so they will need Central Michigan to lose over the weekend.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy handled 31 carries for 157 yards and three touchdowns in Tuesday’s 35-31 win over Ball State.
Bellamy’s dream senior season continues with a dominating performance against a competitive Ball State squad. Following his three touchdowns on Tuesday, Bellamy (5'9/190) now leads the country with 20 rushing touchdowns. Of course, he has one more game under his belt than the others, but even the 17 scores he had prior to the Ball State game would rank second only to Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard. Bellamy scored 12 touchdowns in the previous four seasons combined. Bellamy will aim to lead Western Michigan to their seventh win of the season next week against Ohio.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy carried the ball 17 times for 178 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s 49-10 win over Bowling Green.
Even if you take out Bellamy’s 75-yard scoring run, his longest of the day, he was still averaging over five yards per carry. If nothing else, that serves to highlight Bellamy (5'9/190) was both explosive and efficiency in his ability to almost literally carry the offense to victory. Western Michigan’s two backup RBs got a combined 30 carries and still fell a few yards short of Bellamy’s total.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy ran 15 times for 192 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 57-10 win over Georgia State.
Bellamy (5'9/190) was too talented to be on the field against Georgia State. Rushing for nearly two bills and three touchdowns, Bellamy got away with whatever he wanted on the day, including a 73-yard tear. The Broncos will continue to ride Bellamy as the engine of their offense.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy rushed 25 times for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ 31-15 victory over CMU on Saturday.
Bellamy (5'9/190) continues to produce for WMU as this showing marks his third straight 100-yard game. He was injured last week against Syracuse but was able to bounce back and carry the ball 25 times today in a grinding performance. Bellamy has accounted for 559 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground this season and will be heavily relied upon next week when the Broncos take on MAC foe Toldeo on the road.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy ran for 137 yards and two scores on 22 carries in a 38-16 win over Miami of Ohio on Saturday.
For much of this contest, Bellamy (5'9/190) was completely held in check. It’s hard to keep a player this good down for long, however. Bellamy exploded in the fourth quarter for two rushing scores, a 17-yarder in the middle of the fourth, and a 47-yard scamper that put the game away for the Broncos. The star tailback has scored in every game this year, and he’s up to nine rushing scores on the year with this multi-touchdown effort. He’ll likely get into double digits next Saturday against Eastern Michigan.
  • Western Michigan redshirt senior RB LeVante Bellamy carried the ball 28 times for 113 yards with three touchdowns in a 34-27 loss to Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Bellamy (5'9/190) was not at his most efficient on Saturday, but it’s still another productive game from one of the most underrated backs in the country. The three scores give him five in the last two games, and he’s already up to 13 touchdowns in 2019. He came into the year with 11 combined. Bellamy will continue to get a lot of touches, and should have a field day against the awful Bowling Green defense.
