D’Moi Hodge finished Sunday’s 104-103 win over the Clippers with 23 points (7-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, five steals, one block, and seven 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
Hodge, who will be on a two-way contract next season, got hot during the fourth quarter. He shot 4-of-5 from three in the final frame, getting into an epic (by Summer League standards, at least) scoring duel with Clippers guard Xavier Moon. As well as Hodge did in scoring, the steals’ production can’t be overlooked. That said, while the five thefts were certainly impressive, Hodge averaged one per game ahead of Sunday. Also scoring 23 points for the Lakers was LJ Figueroa, who shot 10-of-13 from the field and filled out his stat line with seven rebounds and two assists. While Hodge’s status for next season is secure, Figueroa is still looking to earn a training camp invite.

LJ Figueroa finished Friday’s 100-69 loss to the Grizzlies with 15 points (7-of-10 FGs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 13 minutes.
An unsigned free agent, Figueroa gave the Lakers some much-needed energy on Friday. Unfortunately for him and the Lakers, it didn’t matter as they were still blown out. Figueroa obviously won’t be a factor in fantasy basketball, but performances like the one he had on Friday should help his chances of landing a job somewhere, be it the NBA or overseas. First-round pick Jalen Hood-Schifino had a brutal night, shooting 3-of-17 from the field and finishing with eight points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
