Astros LHP prospect Alex Winkelman surrendered just one hit over six scoreless innings Sunday in a win for Low-A Quad Cities.
He finished with seven strikeouts and one walk. Winkelman retired 15 straight after walking the game’s first batter. The no-hit bid ended with Beloit catcher Santiago Chavez’s single to lead off the sixth inning. Winkelman has won his last three decisions, lowering his ERA from 8.25 to 3.90 over that span. The 22-year-old has held opponents scoreless in three of his last four outings.
