A’s optioned RHP Bert Snow and RHP Justin Duchscherer to Triple-A Sacramento and reassigned RHP Heath Bost, RHP David Hooten and LHP John Rheinecker to minor league camp.
They also returned INF Oscar Robles to Oaxaca of the Mexican League. Snow, entering his second year back from Tommy John surgery, is still a decent relief prospect, but there’s no room for him in Oakland. Rheinecker is one of the team’s top pitching prospects and could reach the majors after the All-Star break.
